During president Reagan's term US Real GDP was just 3% during F.D.R's first term it was 9% and during the Truman term after the war it was 5%. If we consider average US sustainable GDP to be 3% then we can conclude that trickle down theory has not created any marked change in GDP due to its practice. The trickle down theory thus has not worked and we should just stop crediting it, since it has not demonstrated any marked improvements in economic outcomes for any country practicing it. You can however credit it for the marked increase in inequality in US, UK and India.
Name one developed country where wealth has gotten created through anything other than capitalistic growth and where we don’t have inequality? Specially in such a populous county as India where talent and opportunities are so different based on different factors it is not possible to have equal growth. If not this then what are the alternatives?

Special government tax breaks to support "Trickle down economics" is the productivity killer. Another point here is that "trickle down" assumes that the reduction in taxation at the very high incomes will cause the wages at the lower income to move higher causing a growth in tax receipts and hence a widening tax base. However this never happens. Wage growth is a function of the economic productivity and the relation between tax-break to the wealthy and the economic productivity increase in the country is extremely tenuous. Most of these tax breaks are saved further exasperating economic inequality. Capitalist should be free to succeed or fail. We should be against government policy that prop-up failed capitalist in the name of "trickle down economics". Like large conglomerates that grow through consolidation and then are propped-up by government largess because these conglomerate are too big to fail.
