10 managers that were successful on a budget
Motolani Ojo-Bello none
Average person Jose won the Champions League with Porto
@@averageperson1060 😭😂
Rafa is one of them
Don’t know who the manger was but when Celtic won the Champions league with 11 Glasgow players
Poor video. Mourinho won two Champions league titles without spending big and won the Europa league with a shit Manchester United squad and have the best defense in the Premier League with a winning Chelsea team(15 goals conceded after 38 games, still a record to this day). Guardiola built a conquering Barcelona with La Masia players and rejuvenated a Bayern side. Klopp spent wisely in Liverpool and turned a midtable Dortmund side into title winners with a winning mentality.
mourinho did spent money at chelsea, real, man united, you can't deny that. Each one of the modern successful manager has spend some money to get where they are, they are just saying that
Premier League Freak they’re demonizing Him. That’s why.
@@clydemacauley2720 degrading them? No, I don't think they're degrading them, if you see carefully they are just saying that if in modern times, you need to be a successful manager, you gotta spend big bucks
Pep did sorta spend a lot
@@cummerchant542 Pep joined world class teams with big budget. You think Pep could do a job at like a Dortmund, Inter, Napoli, Lyon. Teams just behind competing with the best team in their league. Pep will join PSG or Juve when he leaves because they have world class squads and a big money budget. Jose has been at clubs that need rebuilding and won CL at clubs that didn't have the spending money
Having Klopp on this list is downright disrespectful. Since the 2015/16 season, Liverpool spend only about 100 total after accounting for their sales. Allison and Van Dijk were offset by Coutinho's fee. Mane funded by the sale of Benteke. Ings and Solanke sales offset Salah's fee. Spending 20 mil a season in this day and age can be considered operating on a shoe string budget.
The longer I watch the worse this video gets
Terrible list, all managers at the top spend big money now days. The title of the video is brought success yet Mourinho won the treble twice at clubs who didn’t spend much money. He also wasn’t backed as much as you say at United when players he didn’t want where brought instead of players he needed
Spot on. Pointless video. Also doesn't take into account what the managers have brought in either. Klopp spent big after selling Coutinho for £145 million for example. It also doesn't take into account moves that were sanctioned by owners rather than managers. Shevchenko to Chelsea under Mourinho and virtually everyone bought by Real Madrid
Jay Anthony care to expand?
Jay Anthony didn’t think so
i mean.... what manager doesn't at least spend some money???
Arsène wenger
@@aadamasghar4794 has spent a lot of money in his career what's your point?
He's spent less than others, but he's still spent it.
every manager and every club 'bought' their success in some way. some are just more obvious about it.
PP Hyjynx he was at arsenal for over 20 years and only ever bought in the most expensive player twice in the premier summer transfer window he didn’t spend much on his league winning squads and went 10 years without breaking his transfer record because arsenal had moved to the emirates which cost them a lot of money it was only in his last few years he spent more money on players due to other clubs paying massive fees which he had to compete with
The Poltical One yeh him too
@@aadamasghar4794 yeah because he didn't have a choice because arsenal bored as cheap
This channels declined since I last watched like 2 years ago
Same, i prefer watching HITC Sports
It all started once they hired new people, it was great when it was just mainly Joe, Pat, & Chris, now it’s just all about the title and getting clicks
Not exactly a lot to make videos about these days though
Ikr, I watch hitc sports and fng now
S F we’re not talking about the past3 months haha
No surprise that Mourinho is in the thumbnail. The agenda that FD has hit out for a guy who led Porto to a Champions League title is beyond funny. But it doesn’t fit the agenda hun?
Must be funny since time does flow on since 2004
Since Klopp took over he has spent a net spend of less than 14 million a season. But once again football daily just look at numbers and nothing else.
Including Klopp in here is just bad. You only looked at his reign at Liverpool, nothing said about his time at Dortmund and Mainz. Plus in comparison he made some absolute bargains with his signings and spent wisely. Sure, Alisson, van Dijk cost much, but these are 2!! costlier signings out of his 10+ year career. Could go on with the arguments, but this is just stupid to include him
And he had to sell Coutinho to finance those deals who was the club's best player at the time.
It’s looking at a specific time and job in someone’s career, not the whole thing. No idea how you didn’t grasp that from the video
Naby Keita
Liverpool did spend a lot relatively though. They bought really well, and not much if we compare them to City and United, but they still spent bucket loads in general football terms.
He was shit in Germany
But klopp sell players to get money to spend on alsison and van dijk if it wasn't for coutinho being sold we wouldn't of brought them 2
Liverpool sell players and get big money, even solanke sold for 20 mil. 👏
@@ibrahimalan1801 ik that what I mean they are act like are bored are giving him money
Jordon Ibe for £15 M
@@yankiefrenz1367 and we probably be able to sell lovren for like 15 mill or more
@@louisclarke8157 yea Shaqiri as well might be sold for around £20 M
Klopp didn't really spend amongst all the PL managers. He was just being smart with his buys that's all. Trading Coutinho out for Virg and Ali. Even when Rodgers left and Klopp took over Liverpool, the effect he had one the old thin squad was immediate and brought the best that some of Rodger's players still play: Joe Gomez, Firmino, James Milner, Henderson.
Even our sales for fringe players, we sell pretty high.
So many of his buys were a bargain and promotions to keep the bills in the green. To the point of this season, we actually are in profit.
Robbo, Trent, Joel Matip, Ragnar Klavan, Salah (considered a bargain),
Despite the overhaul, net spend wasn't all that much.
You can’t spent 550 mill on a squad and say money didn’t play a part
You cannot say klopp has paid to win everything when he has only done it at one club he didnt have major funds at dortmund but he was successful there
ryan Hodson In 2 years at Dortmund he spent over 125mill mate, money did play a part😂
@@jw.7406 he spent money from selling his players
Jw klopp sold about 320 million and you have a annual budget
“Mourinho was giving all the backing he could ask for while at man united” ....seriously?!
I mean it’s not like he was on a budget, the board just bought players that I don’t think he wanted
Yes.
teyzman Not true. He had a say on all the transfers, you can’t always expect to get every player you want if their not available.
He did. He spent astronomically over there.
Folu Karunwi He didn’t want Pogba and that was £100m
Klopp at Liverpool did Not buy his Success he Sold players to buy players he Sold Coutinho for 146 Million Benteke for 27 Million Sakho for 24 Million Solanke for 19 Million ings for 18 Million ibe for 15 Million Ward for 12 Million Allen for 11 Million And he Also Sold other Players as Well
You guys really don't like Mourinho, huh.
Mourinho as the manager is horrible. As a person he is great
@@pelethehedgehog9444 Yes, 2 champions leagues, multiple league titles, multiple cups, two UEFA Cups / Europa Leagues... he really is horrible.
Daniel Portugal When did I say he was doing a bad job? Read and try to understand what someone is really saying before replying
@@pelethehedgehog9444 "mourinho as the manager is horrible". if you wanted to talk about how he deals with the players, you wouldn't seperate the manager from the person. And you're still wrong if that's the case, since there are a lot of players who consider Mourinho as basically a second father.
@@CDPF5 Some players consider him as a second father, and some consider him as the stepfather they wished they never had. I was just trying to explain why some people dislike Mourinho as the manager he is. Calm down mate
This is a horrible video do at least managers that failed despite having spent a lot of money
If you’re at a rich club you will take advantage. Mourihnio won The UCL with porto so rich clubs came calling. And klopp tripled or doubled his players prices
Klopp spent 392 M £ but he sold players and got 300 M £, thats the difference between klopp and pep, klopp rebuilds, while pep just spends as much money as he wants on players worth 60 M £
Klopp at Liverpool sold Coutinho for 146 Million Benteke for 27 Million Sakho for 24 Million Solanke for 19 Million ings for 18 Million ibe for 15 Million Ward for 12 Million Allen for 11 Million And he Also Sold other Players as Well
Pep G has to be #1
Pep is a basic cheque book manager ... doesn't develop youth players and would rather buy a ready made player
pointless top 10... every manager in a modern great club will pop up in this list
This video is so stupid , you have to spend big to be consecutively successful, u could say sir Alex spent big to be successful in the early 2000’s , Vicente del bosque in the early 2000’s , 90% of managers that’s had success have spent big
Tbh I’m disappointed in Football Daily like literally you have to spend money now if a player isn’t good enough no matter the coaching he wont be compared to the world class
As pathetic as it is to say this. Inter's last trophy actually was in 2011 with the Coppa Italia haha
Imagine not only working hard to sell your stock but also being good at it where you sell it for more than it’s worth. This allows you to go and buy bigger and better stock down the line but you get treated the exact same as some rich kid who got given the money off his dad in one weekend.
There is a difference between spending lots of money and buying your success.
One of fd’s worst top 10s
I think it is absolutly wrong to not to mention the NET Spend on players.
True if we take Jurgen klopp at 5 in this video, yeah he spent a lot of money, but the amount of sold players is also great (and flops sold at great prices too)
If we take net spend in considerations, then according to talksport.com klopp have a net spend of around 74 million £.
Which is less than 20 million £ a season on average.
that doesnt seem to me like a man who bought his way to succes, but feel free to disagree with me.
You've got to adjust these #s for inflation
Hitc channels are the real goats
Are you for real? Klopp came in half way and got us to the europa final right away. Improvements were happening already. Do you expect him to just stick to the players he had?? No manager can win anything with moreno as lb and mignolet/ karius as keeper. Mad disrespect
Klopp sold and bought agree with you mainly couthino helped him
Shouldn't you look at netspend for this video? I mean in Liverpool's case I think Salah and Mane's fees equal what they sold Benteke, Ibe and Solanke for. The future fee for Icardi is close to what Inter paid for Lukaku.
Net spend would be more accurate
Klopp bought players once he sold players. But they needed it 😂 did you see their team before Klopp came?
I don't think Klopp & Conte should be on this list... This video lacks context.. Definitely, Pep should be number 1
Mark Hughes should be on this list too - he spent huge money at Man City (Adebayor, Kolo Toure, Carlos Tevez, Jo Lescott, Wayne Bridge, Bellamy, Jo, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Santa Cruz, Robinho, etc.) over just 2 seasons!
Matip free, Robertson 5 mil ish, TAA free Wijinaldum cheap, Henderson cheap Salah and Mane are worth triple what was paid now
Henderson was at that club already so free
Which manager doesn't spend money?? even pochhetino was given some budget at spurs!!!
No man that wasnt true
You missed Kenny Dalglish with Blackburn.
He is british so...
IT does not say foreign managers.
@@erdnasiul87 isn't harry redknapp british too?
Yes he is, he's English
Luís Barbosa i mean there from England he’s from scotland
In Klopp’s defense there was plenty of money in the transfer Kitty from the coutinho and Suarez deals
What a pointless video? 1. The description is wrong. Keyword: Success. 2. It would have been more interesting to see shrewd buying AND selling of players to achieve success. Focusing on just buying is only half the picture and useless info.
If you take net spend into account, Conte and Klopp shouldn’t be on the list
Pellegrini makes some insane transfers
Hoping everybody that somehow sees this comment has an amazing end to the week ❤️❤️
You too mate
Same to you
@Amelia Johnson you four mate!
The stupidest top 10 to date
Putting Klopp in this list is a joke.
1. The basic thing about buying success is you buy finished products organise a good team and win trophies, Klopp doesn't fit in this because Klopp never signed the finished products. Salah was a Chelsea flop, mane, vvd , gini and Robertson were playing for midtable league teams like Southampton, hull and Newcastle. Ox wasn't starting for arsenal. All the players he signed except for vvd none of them were at that level when he signed them, truth is he had a plan , he bought suitable players for it..they worked hard and it klicked. This story is noways simmilar to someone like Mourinho who just buys big players for a shirt term success.
2 . You can't put 3 seasons tally togather and say Klopp spent big. 300miln in 3 yers is peanuts specially knowing who he was against pep. And also in todyas money driven transfer market that amount is Average.
I remember why I was unsubscribed from this channel now. If the managers have the money they should spend it
Did mourinho buy is success at Porto when he won the UEFA Cup in 2003 and the UEFA champions league the following year with Porto in 2004??????
Klopp??? You are kidding me!!!
Klopp? Successfully reinvested the coutinho money. Simples
Klopp spent his money wisely. I don't know what he's doing in this lsit
That's why success is in the title. Everyone on the list could say they have spent wisely and use the titles they won as proof
@@SF-rw1oz 👍
You guys are just hating, very poor video
Last time I was this early football daily were getting millions of views on top tens
How did klopp buy success? Check Liverpool net spend, its called good recruitment
This is a stupid video, it’s basically just managers that spent big money on transfers, not allowing for sales, or the quality of the manager, like how are Klopp, Guardiola, Mourinho, and Conte on here
"we promise this isnt an italian list"
4 italians already
You just discredited conte, Allegri, Klopp, Guardiola and Mourinho. These are the greatest coaches of last 15 years. Insane video.
Klopp doesn’t buy success, for how much he spent on Salah etc is a Bargain considering their development and how much their worth now
He spent just under 400 mill in 3 seasons..thats quite alot of money
Jamie Hope but Salah for 30M is not a lot considering he’s worth over 100 now and the likes of Robertson etc = Moneyball Philosophy
@@jamiehope9696 And he sold over 300 million in that same time frame to fund the buying.
@@brianbates212 no no he has not
Jamie Hope he also sold like 300 mil and has a annual budget
Mourinho didn’t buy his success, he won the CL with Inter, and Porto, so he didn’t buy his success but did buy trophies with some clubs. However, he is not solely successful because of money and would still be regarded as one of the worlds best managers, money or no money
How do u buy trophies use ur head bro peps spent loads and still hasn’t won a cl without messi and then we have mourinho who did it on a shit budget at Porto with unknown players at the time and at inter he sold Ibrahimovic and got etoo at the same time
DeViouS Z exactly
Pep Guardiola is the footballing equivalent of the spoiled rich kid with his daddy's credit card. It's easy to buy success when you only go to clubs that are the richest in the league.
Klopp made most of his players
Pretty much this. We needed a quality commanding CB and GK for many years. We got both. We needed pace/quality out wide. We got them. None of the money he spent was wasted. Michael Edwards got good good $$ for all the players we sold as well (finally!!)....
Some of these managers don’t have success so it don’t count, Mourinho, Pep and Klopp have spent a lot at specific clubs but if you’re just talking success in general Mourinho was a champions league and Europa league winner at Porto who wasn’t buying big players before going to bigger clubs, Pep integrated a lot of youth players at Barca winning the league and champions league and Klopp was at Dortmund winning a league and getting to a champions league final
I mean Pep had Xavi+Iniesta at barca probably the finest midfield duo in the last 20 years. (Not gonna include Messi because at that time no one knew how he will go on to perform) He also had a pretty solid team already, that factor needs to be accounted for as well.
THEchrisse95 I know but he didn’t buy them and either way they are home grown players plus they weren’t the the same calibre team before pep came
THEchrisse95 pep has spent 700 mil at city and 1.37 billion in his career and with city he can still buy more
Ice wallow Come I know that I’m talking about initial success that’s why I mentioned specific clubs because they all have spent but those 3 had initial success before that whereas there are managers that haven’t so at Barca he didn’t spend that much until after they had won the champions league. The title makes it seem that they need money to be successful but that’s not the case
Both the title of this video and the content itself is very misleading and to a certain degree inaccurate. For one how is redknapp on this list. Yes he may have made portsmouth a decent mid-table side and had some good runs with spurs but he hasnt won a major title with either. Klopp is another one where although he has spent big but a large part of that spending has been fuelled by players sales both at liverpool and dortmund. Even i dare say it may not be justifiable to have pellegrini on this list as well considering the work he has done at malaga.
Who wrote this script? This is bull on klopp. He never bought established players only van dijk and allison really but even then real or barca wanted them
He sold players tho to get van dijk
Love when fd pisses of everyone.Good video though.
Agree with most points here but I think klopp also sold players for big money so it evens his net spend.Agree with Mourinho and guardiola
Agree with mourinho of course u would he pissed on ur club for over a decade
Sir Alex be like “ ka lifestyle kandi kapa low budget” 😂😂
He had high budget what you mean
Ice wallow Come stanyoko
The Big Boss Man Roy keane
The Big Boss Man man united have always lived the high life
NO ONE outside of Milner and Fabinho on that Liverpool team were challenging for their respective league titles before arriving. And in the case of Milner, City were happy to let him go on a free. I wouldn't classify that as buying success at all.
This vids a shambles lol
What a garbage video. All top sides spend money, it's simply part of the industry that big sides are charged high fees.
Lol who all are watching this video just to read comments backing Jose mourinho 😁
Alex Ferguson should be there, he spent several times more than Wenger so he could compete with arsenal in the late 90s and early 00s
