I have everything to make this tea so I ran to the kitchen (and garden) and put it together. I used a sprig of thyme and a very small sprig of lavender and less sugar. It's sitting outside on my patio table along with my witch hazel/glycerin/catnip-yarrow-lavender-lemon balm bug spray concoction(covered in a brown bag). I wish I could post a photo here, it's so pretty! Thank you for creating this tutorial video! 🌿🌞
I never heard of sun tea before, but that’s probably because I live in The Netherlands… 😂 If I would make this, I would choose a sunny day and put it in my greenhouse!
I am 53 and have never made sun tea 😂. I know crazy. I may try now since you gave such good advice and tips. I happen to have a big ole bag of frozen fruit and a garden full of herbs.
Definitely a good time for this since so many people are experiencing what I call Hell’s Front Porch. Thanks so much for sharing this with us April!!❤️
You are a hoot 😅😅. Your explanation is the hot sun had me grinning from ear to ear. Love it, love it. And no, my ears don't bleed when you cuss up a storm. Many of us out here are human as well. 😅
You are incredibly helpful to me for fresh inspiration, becoming more self- sufficient in a small apt with balcony. Your ideas are so doable! And your spontaneity, refreshing. My go-to herbalist.
I’m on some sort of synchronous loop with some of your old videos! ❤ just did the fermented garlic and honey, and now I’m making this today. Loving summer and grew up with sun tea, never thought to add herbs and fruit to the brew process. I’m excited to try. ☮️
I was listening to another podcast and the gentleman gardener "froze" his head of cabbage then would defrost it and make his cabbage rolls. It was softened from the freezing. I decided to try this with my grape leaves when I made Greek Dolmades. It worked wonderful. Now I don't have to make or buy leaves in a salty brine solution. I just pack the leaves between cardboard and freeze. Great podcast! Can't wait to try this with the blackberries that are coming on...as soon as it stops raining and the sun returns!
Yummy! I use my dried blueberry leaves and dried stevia leaves from my garden. I use almost all my fruit leaves… grape, apple, strawberry, pineapple sage and mints. I LOVE Sun tea
I'm fairly new to this channel. Your idea is interesting and creative. Do you use a small amount of leaves (like the thyme) or more like the blueberries? With some guidance on safe amounts, I would like to experiment with your idea! Thank you😊
I’ve been making your tart cherry/lime aid since I saw your video, no need to add sweetener! It’s delicious. Thank you April for all you share with us.
Hello friend that sure sounds delightful ❤ and delicious 😋 ❤. Thyme and blueberry with be definitely give this a try ❤.Greetings from England 🇬🇧 Simon and Beth ❤❤❤
A very educational video. I never thought about the practicality and appropriateness for utilizing frozen fruit for this kind of application. Thank you much! I also did not know about the connection between fermentation and the oxalate level in a particular plant. If you feel so moved, please teach a bit more about this connection. I have been told that I should “look into oxalates”, so I have been doing a deep dive. Be blessed generous one!
You inspire me every time I watch you April-and that's not an easy feat. I have a jar of tea on my porch now, magnesium oil and two dozen or more tinctures. Girl it's just been June 😂 Thank you for being you! The world needs more people like you...
THANK YOU for posting this to RUclips!! I absolutely love your lives, but I work nightshift so I usually miss everything! I appreciate you reposting for us ❤
Thank you April. Yes, I am one of those people who has never made sun tea. AND, I always tend to over do the herbs when cooking, so I love how you explained about not adding too much thyme. Love your pop-up classes. I always learn so much from you.
Thank you for your joyful offering of yummy goodness. I do adore your videos so much. It is late Winter here in southern Australia but the evidence of Spring is everywhere. I will definately be creating this recipe come Summertime 🙏🌸🍉🍑🍒🍓🥭🍍🥝🍋😁🌞
LOVE this! I'm always looking for juice alternatives for my autistic son, and I do make sun tea with black tea and I'm a MANIC ORGANIC but never thought of making a fruity sun tea until now! You are a gift. Stay cool, April!
It's a bit weird to talk about bodies, but I've always struggled to find clothes that fit me and seeing you rocking these dresses with a body looking like mine made me so happy. It inspires me to look for different garment construction styles and maybe make some myself. Anyways, thank u for ur great fashion sense hahahah
I LOL at the time pun, with no intention 🤣 Love you so much April- Thank you for being you and for showing up today. Appreciate your knowledge and sharing of your wisdom so deeply!! ♡ THANK YOU!!♡♡

Just got some bluberries in my fridge ...not to much sun...but maybe tomorrow?💥 Many thanks April !! I know the recipe but im so happy to ear your joy indoing your explanations !!! 💖
I just love your videos!❤ I’ve been learning so much from you. I have a question… I’ve heard over the years that making Sun tea isn’t good to make because of bacteria that could grow putting it in the sun. I heard this way over 10 years ago and so I quit making it because of that. I use to make Sun tea almost everyday and my dad made it everyday growing up. Thank you for the delicious recipe!❤
I can imagine the sunlight energy adding to the nutritional value of the Sun Tea. Having a cold blueberry thyme Sun tea while drinking up the Sun's energy
Sounds even TASTIER over ice. Iced Summer Tea!!! Such a COOL upload today. Glad you're doing well!!!
Yep! Sun tea is always best served cold over ice, probably should have mentioned that in the video 😂
@@sheisofthewoods; Hey, I absolutely understand + understood. That tea actually SOUNDS extremely AMAZING & tasty. Awesome upload! BIG fan.
This sounds awesome!!! I can’t wait to make some! Thank you!
This lady is a walking Farmer’s Almanac!!! Amazing knowledge and skill!!! 🤯❤
I don’t know anyone here who wouldn’t love to have an opportunity for a visit with April and enjoy a glass or a cup sun tea❤️
The way you talk to us is like we are a friend you are hanging out with and it feels so awesome. Thank you for teaching me this. Thank you seriously

I love sun tea 💚 My dad used to make it and I'd swear it tasted better than using boiled water. 😍🙏

Start asking around for empty gallon pickle jars! 🖤🌻 We made so many gallons that way as a kid, I hope you try it and let us know what you think!
I just love how sweet and kind you are ❤ Thank You.
Definitely a good time for this since so many people are experiencing what I call Hell’s Front Porch. Thanks so much for sharing this with us April!!❤️
On a day where I'm not well you brought sunshine & hope. Thank you, April.
I'm glad to hear that 😊
She has a way of doing that!
I Love her being so real! & Always makes me giggle.😊
I have often wondered who and what is Mother Nature. Know I know, She is of the woods. ❤❤❤
I adore your humanness 😊 Thank you for sharing this wonderful simple recipe ❤️

Blend the blueberry mush with plain yogurt. Freeze in large ice cube tray. Yum!
Let a couple of cubes sit in a cup/bowl for 10 min. Then, eat.
Thyme makes me very sleepy. Eases nightmares too. I sleep well with thyme. I agree with you about honey. Honey comes in so many flavors.
Sounds yummy! I love your delicious sense of humor 😂

Ty! Mmmm.... That sounds good! Everyone can make sun tea due to the whole USA having 3 digit heat.
Yummy!

Could I use fresh stevia leaves?
How much would you recommend for this same size jar she did?
I’ve been making your tart cherry/lime aid since I saw your video, no need to add sweetener! It’s delicious. Thank you April for all you share with us.

As it turns out apparently I was way, way, way overdoing the amount of herbs in my teas so thank you for steering me in the right direction!
Love this idea. I just picked two pails of blueberries.
Thank you from one of the millions of people who have never heard of sun tea. Love you and your valuable work which I find to be a great blessing. 🌻

Hi April, just curious as to why not just pour boiling water over the fruit tea, rather than sitting in sun?
Love from Chicago ❤ you're very informative...at times you're funny too!..
