The old people had great knowledge of herbs and their own cures. They were their own doctors and chemists, and were healthier because of it. Great to see people using and sharing this knowledge thank you.
Thank you again so much for this video. As a hairstylist I can tell you first hand that I have seen the profound positive affects of hair styling on people no matter their stage of life. It's pretty incredible to witness. I've had the privilege of doing "end of life" hair cuts and styles and it truly made a difference for that person. Peace Love and Namaste from Canada 🇨🇦
This was really interesting I follow several gardening people in the Uk some who talk about the weed horsetail and the problems they gave ridding the vegetables beds if it. I’d never heard of it before had no idea what they were talking about now I do. I’ll recommend they check this video maybe they too could use it benefits
I purchased a charcoal based toothpaste about a year ago cost me nearly £5!!! Great to know thank you again for your instructions and wisdom, educating ppl on saving money and the benefits of our so called 'weeds'.
A beautiful demonstration in the garden! You are both so inspiring on May Day and your animal helpers are always such a joy! Both you and Lol have magnificent smiles 😃.
I've been doing this, thanks to you and it's great. I love how you're not "by the book" and say, "use what you feel is good" That's exactly how my mother has taught me and I surely do. So lovely to have you to relate
What a lovely concoction for toothpaste, this looks absolutely wonderful and I appreciate you sharing. Hope you have a beautiful rest of your week! Hugs from Vilonia, Arkansas in USA.
Thank you Terri for another great, informative, helpful video. You really must write that book with all these recipes you share with us, recipes for medicinal remedies, homemade toiletries, homemade household products, etc. Not that you are not busy enough……. It shows what a kind, caring lady you are, devoted to your nature calling, always happy to share your knowledge with us, your viewers. But, I and I’m sure many of your viewers , would love to have a book with all these brilliant, helpful recipes you share with us through your videos . I proudly would have it on my bookshelf and read it with passion, as I do with the other 2 books. Anyway, thank you Terri . And thank you to your Lol for allowing us to see the adorable dogs and cat, which are always the stars of the video. ❤️
Oana - you make me blush you are so kind! I would love to write such a book and I will one day when I have time xxx much love to you and the family xxx
I remember reading an interpretive sign Coloma where gold was first discovered in CA. The gold miners used horsetail for cleaning their pots & dishes! Also, I remember reading the high silica content might be a problem for folks with kidney problems. Thank you for sharing your lovely home & family of furry friends and delightful music :-) My heart feels lighter after I've viewed one of your lessons.
Yes Nancy, you wouldn't take it as a medicine long term because of that. Another name for Horsetail is Bottle brush and PewterBrush because of the use on pots!
We don’t have this plant where I am in Australia, but I found this very interesting anyway. I always knew their was a link to hair health and general well-being of spirit , how fascinating! 💜

I was wondering why I've never seen this plant before. After a little research I found out that it's native everywhere except Australia and New Zealand. Interesting stuff :)

I'm living in a strange place right now. But I went for a walk before Beltane. I am in the US so it's 2:20 in the morning, the morning of the first. So on my walk I saw at least 20 herbs that are so beneficial! But the city sprays the trail. I have no way of knowing because it takes about four days for things to die down. And there's nobody to answer the question whether it's been sprayed or not. It's so sad because I have needs for the herbs there. There is so much food that I can drive for my rescue guinea pigs! When I come out of the little room with the fan they week very loud because they know that's where mamas hey comes from.. I saw horsetail for the first time today, and I was talking about making tea with it for my hair skin and nails. And here you are showing me something I should remember. Thank you very much for your video and I must go over picking tomorrow because I asked 3 people if I could come up by their yard to get the weeds AKA medicine and herbs. And they assured me that nobody has sprayed yet this year so I'm going to cross my fingers. What I will do is pick it all. Then I will watch the trail for the next 4 days and see how things turned out. That way I will know for sure that nothing was sprayed. Wish me the energy to get there I have a lot to do tomorrow. But I feel like if I wait the herbs will get too far along. And I'm afraid that I won't beat the sprayers. I can't believe I still have to mention that we spray things in the US.

Horsetail can help women losing their hair also so how about doing a show incorporating horsetail into a homemade shampoo? Baking soda also prevents graying so mine is baking soda, vinegar, chamomile tea and you can add ginger, cloves then the horsetail.
I’m always looking for useful ways to use the numerous “weeds” on my property so really appreciate this. We have the reed variety of horsetail but I imagine the therapeutic benefits of all types are similar. My horses eat it while grazing and I’m wondering if it has to do with their need for selenium as the soil in this part of Oregon is deficient in that vital mineral. Hello! Thanks so much for this recipe. I always look forward to your videos. Could you use dried, crushed peppermint leaves rather than the peppermint oil? I hope you have a lovely week.
I'm going to try this recipe. I make it with diatomaceous earth, coconut oil, calcium powder, essential oil (I know some do not want to ingest). Horsetail spray with DMSO from Healing With DMSO book is regrowing hair!! Check it out if you're interested, the book is right up your alley. Also from the information is that adding DMSO to face cream recipes increases the effects of the ingredients.
I'm certainly going to give this a try. I have part of a fossilised stem of a prehistoric horse tail,I think they call it a calamite and is the size of a house brick so it must have grown quite a height!
I used Horsetail as a hair rinse before, it grew like mad where I lived before, now I'll have to keep my eyes open for it. Could I use it if it's dried and years old?
Heads up - if you are taking antidepressants, birth control, etc activated charcoal can make them ineffective. P.S. I adore your videos! I watch every week. :-) I’ve learned so much!!

I don't use essential oils internally because they are not safe to use. Essential oils are a toxic by-product of hydrosols making and no aromatherapist would recommend they be taken internally. They are best used diluted for topical care. Sending healing blessings to you Therese xx
You may be thinking of Dr. Weston A. Price. I've been using horsetail for years, but never thought of it for toothpaste. Thank you! Also curious about why you don't care for essential oils internally.
Thanks Colleen - no it wasn't Dr Price it was some man who lived as a native in Africa, somebody else. I have a friend who is an aromatherapist and I once attended a lecture by a man who makes hydrosols. He explained that essential oils are the toxic by-products of flower waters and my friend explained that it is dangerous for anyone to just take an oil internally. Someone else I know who started selling oils for a company, began using essential oils internally and her health deteriorated.
Cute puppies🐶 Kitty too. I appreciate you sharing this video. Can you tell me you didn't talk anything about the other variety equitum hymale. Do you know the difference between the two, and how they're used...same different?

@@DanusIrishHerbGarden Thank you. I've used thieves internally to ward things off, but wondered about the others. I love your channel.
Cute puppies🐶 Kitty too. I appreciate you sharing this video. Can you tell me you didn't talk anything about the other variety equitum hymale. Do you know the difference between the two, and how they're used...same different?
