My hubby and I embrace the weirdness everyday. Being silly makes the days go by with a chunk of laughter plopped down right in the middle right? I just watched the rest of the vlog and Ollie's little face wanting to sleep was so cute but THEN! You two started laughing and that did it for me. So hysterical, the two of you. I struggle with disc disease and being content with getting stuff half done is such a struggle for me. I end up hurting myself a lot trying to over do. actually I am currently doing laundry and 4 loads in I should really stop but I just can't. I needed to hear this today.
I am currently relating to that feeling where you don't feel good enough to get your daily tasks done and that's OK… You say, "tomorrow is another day". Then that day comes when you are feeling well and you're like, "oh my there is so much to do!" I'm with you there Mary!!!

I'll be at the Veterans Hospital on Wednesday here in Detroit my husband is having a hernia removed. Supposed to be an out patient procedure I hope so. Their internet is terrible so I will take crochet with me to stay busy.
Our service dog who just spent 9 days at hospital with my 8 year old who has pneumonia, was rushed to the vets because she found and ate chocolate. Remind people how dangerous chocolate can be for a dog please! And thanks for your cheerful mood....I needed that!
Gretchen Good sorry to hear that, i hope your doggie has a full recovery. this was one of my fears with my dog so i started teaching him from puppyhood i would associate with the smell of chocolate and no, leave it. he is now 13 and has never touched it thankfully even when kids have dropped it.. big hugs to your doggie.

Shelbi Jackson I have hmmm 5 chronic pain, irritable Bowel Syndrome and about 7-8 other illnesses and diabetes. My point is my Mom called me a "little piggy" keeping all of these illnesses to myself and not sharing with her and my 4 siblings! lmao I would never wish that on anyone. My oldest sis has fibro. depression and OCD anxiety disorder as well as me.
I am sorry about your son and your doggy. Yes chocolate is not good for dogs the sugar in it is too much for them, but also I heard it takes 1 ounce of pure chocolate per pound of dog to cause them harm.
Its like that In my life having a toddler and taking care of a homestead. There is always tons of stuff to do daily with a toddler behind me sometimes messing it up again and making me work harder.
Hey Mary, I'm a pediatric nurse and just wanted to let you know that the ileum is actually part of your anatomy, not a condition. This is probably TMI for RUclips comments, but as long as your gut is in working order (if you get me!) then it cannot be paralysed due to the fact you eat orally without pain/vomiting. As you know, normal food follows the same tract as J-fed formulas, so I would definitely speak to your Dr about other causes for your pain and sickness when you use your J tube. Hope you feel well today ☺️

I stand corrected, as that is a term only used for bowel obstructions in my field. However, the fact still remains that if it was paralysed then any food (oral or jej-fed) would cause pain and vomiting. They only thing I can suggest, which I am sure her Drs have already gone through, is to feed at a very slow rate. The stomach can tolerate large bolus feeds as it stretches easily, however the jejunum doesn't have this advantage and therefore feeds must be given over a longer period of time. I know this was the case when Mary was in hospital so I would assume the slow feeds continued at home, but I am merely suggesting in the event this issue hasn't been raised. Have a nice day!

I hate it when you're chronically ill and you can see everything you need to do but have no energy to do it! Sat in bed looking at all the clothes that need putting away, one of my hamsters needs cleaning out, and studying to do. But bed and youtube is all my body can handle. 😥

ok so medical question. how can you eat and have your digestive system work but not be able to process the feeds? would it not follow the same route through your intestines? purely curious about this situation and how it works. if anyone can explain I would appreciate it!
blackeyedbutterfly hope it's ok if I answer. She can eat is because she doesn't eat a high volume of food and it's spaced out so her intestines aren't taking a huge amount of continuous input like with the feeds. The feeds for her intestines is the same as if she was eating 24/7 and her intestines just can't handle that right now, as they are just functioning really slowly. plus her body has to adjust to digesting more "food". Also not positive but I think she has gastroparesis or some of its symptoms which means her stomach digests even slower than an average stomach so her intake by mouth is even slower coming into her intestines.
oh man that's one of my biggest hang ups! I have a chronic illness too and being content with not having all the chores done like you mentioned... oh man i totally totally get what you're saying! grrrr!

"if he is taking the mick, or pushing your button!". I apologise, I just heard my Dad's voice in my head come up with that, and so I NEEDED to type it!
