Ok ok ok! So we are getting a puppy in the spring. She is going to be a breed with F2B (mom) with a purebred mini poodle (dad). What is that going to make her? Will that make the puppy a F2BB? We don’t want dog hair everywhere but we also would like some retiree lab too!
No F2 is two F1's together. F1 and F2 together would be considered multi-gen. An F2BB is just na F2 backcrossed to a Poodle twice. Let me know if you need more clarification.
No. A normal DNA test would not tell the generation, only give the percentage of the dog breed. Both F1 and F2 are the same percentage. You would typically ask your dog breeder.
I have the F2. I don’t know much about genetics, but I had to have the least shedding do to my daughters being asthmatic. My boy is 70.7 pounds and will be 2 in a few months. A definite gentle giant. Hope this helps.
Both are going to be close to 50% Golden Retriever and 50% Poodle. If I had to choose and could look at the parent dogs and genetic tests, I would choose an F2 just because they are more multi-gen so you would pretty much know what you’re getting. You can’t really go wrong with either though. Doodles are the best.
@@WeLoveDoodles what do you mean by “you would pretty much know what you’re getting”? I had trouble understanding the video cause I May have confused myself. So is the F2 more predictable because of the parents while the F1 can vary much more?
Thank you. Getting our F2 on July 8 🥰
Get ready for a great experience!

I thought the F2 is a pure mix of a f1 mom and f2 dad while the f2bb is the un-known mixture?

Is a DNA test required to determine if your dog is an F1 or F2? Or what is the method/procedure to determine that?

I would see the parents of the puppy to tell
Sounds like the F1 is the best Doodle. How about the Ultimate Doodle?

@@christimmermeyer7942 My F1 golden doodle is 76 pounds at 7 months . How big do you think he will get full grown ?
@@christimmermeyer7942 forgot to mention. Both parents are 60 pounds each.

Our F1 sheds little bit. Our F1BB rarely any.
