Great tutorial. I like how you show the important steps and skip to the next important steps letting the viewer make full use of the pause button! That's really the best way to show advanced origami. Cheers!
Yes, It is based on a 64 x 64 grid. Fortunately, I spared most of the horizontal pleats. Each spike takes up the span of 6 boxes. Offset, that makes 11 on top and 10 on bottom. As seen in the beginning of my video, I have used a variety of paper sizes to fold this model. Everything from large craft paper to tissue paper. A larger size square would be better for a first time fold, then try a smaller square once you've mastered it. Be sure to post a picture once you've folded it. Thanks, acctin2!
Thanks a lot, alex. Your complement means a lot to me. I just posted a tutorial video for my 3D Stars. Upcoming tutorials will include my Modular Rhombicosidodecahedron as well as a Chess Board, a caterpillar and hopefully a Surfer with a Surf Board. Be sure to tell your friends and stay tuned!
Thanks, lover lps. I'm glad you want so see more of my origami tutorial videos. I'm currently working on three new videos for my Modular Rhombicosididecahedron, Alien, and Dragon models. I'm curious, what would you like to see me design in the future?
Wow! Superb model! One of the best Venus Flytrap's I've ever seen! I couldn't fold it, I failed miserably at the teeth, but I'll give it a try again! Hoping to see some more videos from you! I'm your latest subscriber!
Thanks! Yes, that's me. I'm working on turorials for all the models I entered into contests last year in the order of how I created them, Ridley, Caduceus, Smaug and Jabberwocky. I plan on having the Jabberwocky tutorial done by Summer 2015 so stay tuned :)
Uh... That's not how to do a reverse fold. This is how you do it: 1. Make a pleat. 2. Fold diagonally or straight depending on the pleat. 3. Open the middle and tuck the crease in.

Yes, Tim, I think I will try to fold it, but only on my holliday, as it's not a basic origami, but really a great work.
