    This is fantastic. I have actually done my own video tutorials to demonstrate box pleating techniques and I understand how difficult it is to achieve. Simple things like making sure your clothes and fingers don't get in the way. You only have to move your head and the light changes.
    I have watched quite a few of your videos and enjoy how they are filmed in a raw and natural way. It shows that you just want to share the beauty of origami like the rest of us.
    The final stages and shaping lies with the individual person and that's what makes complex origami so unique and interesting in the art world.

      @Predator X regardless of skill involved I do believe you have to admit that it is an incomplete tutorial, although I was able to complete this project with the steps provided I can totally see how it would be inadequate instruction for many people.

    • @temps1959
      @temps1959 4 года назад +2

      Steven Jenkins those people should fold more simple pieces of origami first, and work up to something like this. The tutorial is intermediate to advanced, and tbh there is more than one way to shape it from the base; it’s personal preference.

    Dear sensei Sopita:
    Just keep in mind to place the light above the model or against a wall in front of you is not always the sides.

    Theme: Excellent!!
    Thumbs up!

      И не ми се оправдавай с възрастта.. един приятел е на 14 години от Словения и може да направи ryujin 3.5(той ми помогна за крака :D) и в момента го прави ,а иначе е направил урок за "scales"(люспите) му..каналът му тук е OrigamiSage
      И не ми рекламирай тоя "noob" Jo Nakashima ,единственото подобие на "сложно" оригами ,което е показал е онзи орел ,но не е направил урок за него..въпреки ,че аз имам диаграмите и мога да го направя ,много хора(noobs xD) искат урок :D

    I've tried the architect paper others have suggested. But it is transparent, and very difficult to take a fold, especially when you turn a mountain fold into a valley fold. I've tried wrapping paper, but it gets too thick around the head and body. The head usually splits when I fold it down to start shaping the head. The details of the legs would be most welcomed. I've made it through a lot of the hard steps, but the model splays out too wide to even attempt to stand. Any suggestions?

      +Len Kagamine two steps: 1) You rabbit-ear the head backwards (24:05) and then 2) sort of collapse it over itself again (24:14) to make the extra flaps behind the head. step 2) is much like step 103 in this picture. www.origami-guide.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/origami-horse-9.jpg

    @thomaskim6971 11 лет назад

    Well, its actually not hard, If you have folded this to the point he shows, then you should be able to know how to fold the legs since its a higher leveled origami in complexity. There are other models with similar legs and you should just know how to fold it. If not, all you have to do is make the legs 3D by shaping, then crimp to make the joint, and a lot of reverse folds so you can make claws.

    You can use kraft paper, it's cheap, thin and enough strong, or if you want you can make your own paper, buying tissue paper (i don't know how you do call them, but here is called "papel volantín" or "papel seda" -kite paper or silk paper-) it's really thin but weak, so you have to join 3 sheets, also use Methyl Cellulose to join them. By the way, use a large sheet for this model, at least 45x45cm.
    You can get the tissue, and kraft paper everywhere, the MC too.

    Amazon, eBay, well best way is to search up tissue foil and find a website since tissue foil has a good structural strength which is needed for this origami.

    No, since its too thick to hold all the folds made. Also, printer paper is weak structurally so it won't hold very well along with it not being able to make clean folds with this kind of model.

    Does it have to be a tissue foil?

      nope can be other paper he used tissue treated with MC in the video as long as the paper is thin enough to manage the layers but strong enough to withstand the folding any paper can be used

    Architect paper here is at least 130g/m2. Very thick. I use spec. wrapping paper instead.
