In this tutorial you'll learn how to make an origami Dragon step by step.
This is the original version of my origami Dragon. It is relatively easy to fold and I liked the result a lot. Now there are other versions like the Dragon Bookmark, Chibi Dragon (easy version), Devil Dragon (complex) and more! Check out my dragons playlist:

it doesn’t require special paper and you can use even the standard 15cm x 15cm origami paper or copy paper.
For best results I like using the wet-folding technique on papers like Elephant Hide, Lizard Hide and Biogami.

amazing tutorial! only had some issues with "unfolding" the head but this was otherwise super easy to follow, considering i'd never done anything more complex than a paper crane. on my very first try i managed to make it almost identical, despite using a paper way smaller than yours- and i think that really talks about how clear your instructions were. thank you :D

FIRST ORIGAMI OF MY LIFE
1) Start: a piece of cake.
2) At 13:10 looked at my origami, looked at his one, looked at mine again: what kind of sorcery is this??
3) Ok the wings are completely different, but I can still do this.
4) At 16:40 try 15 times and then thought "Nevermind my dragon won't have a head"
5) I'm just doing whatever now.
6) Origami finished: looks like a very old dog with wings and full of wrinkles
7) I'm going to try a flower now

Mine looks like a demon i also used red paper so..
I only followed up to 7 minutes, then I’m lost.
On the 10th try, I followed up to 12 minutes, and lost again.
Before the end of this year, I WILL MAKE ONE, or I will burn down the local paper mill.
1 year.
I continuously tried it for 1 year (not really, about 20-30 times) and finally, here I am. With my very own dragon.

I watched this video years ago when I started to really enjoy origami and I remembered this video - came back to it - and made the dragon! So cool thank you - looking forward to making your better versions in the future
Hey! I memorized all the steps for this and made this for my interschool origami competition! I got 3rd place, as the competition was a very poor one; they were very lenient, and we had to make a ‘background’ with an ‘object’ for each model. I did not make one and presented this model on its own, saying that it is against what I do, and I still got 3rd! I can bet the 1st and 2nd place winners made a really cool background (paints and stuff), but again, it shouldn’t help them get a higher rank!
What exactly was the problem with the background?
@@Shrektopuz There wasn’t any problem, its just that they had marks for the background, although it is a competition about origami, not about how good you can make your background to be.
How the hell were you able to memorize all the steps? Sometimes I forgot the steps while watching the video😅
@@selo23398 I have made this model quite a few times before, so I already knew a lot about it. I just had to go through it in the morning once again to fully memorize it.

Some tips to make your experience watching my videos much better. You can change the speed and control the player using the shortcuts below:
*"" key* - increase play speed
*"j" key* - Move backward 10 sec (very useful when you need to repeat a step)
*"k" key* - Pause/play video
*"l" key* - Move forward 10 sec
On mobile you can change speed in the top right settings icon, double tap the screen on left/right side to skip 10 seconds

this thing was easy, but the part where it took me the most time was at 15 minutes (the head part) and this man has made help videos for that too!! worth it, make sure you try it when your mood is good and stay patient. i got it in my first try :)
I had always known I was an artist. If you doubt me just look at the abstract donkey with flaps ( representing wings) I created. The piece symbolizes the world we live in and what we aspire to be vs what we really are, which is a crumbled piece of paper.
I thought this was an inspiring thing, and then it just went downhill quick. lol

Designing origami takes special talent and a lot of experience. I admire those who know how to create these structures and locate flaps in all the right places where they want arms, legs, heads, tails, wings, etc., plus have the skill to preconceive the folding process of squashing, rabbit earing, petal folds and open sinks to get these appendages to look right. I would think that it still must take some trial and error to come up with a finished design. I'll never have the talent to design, but then again I'm perfectly happy to just fold models designed by others. Like this one, which is not too hard, but looks good.

Lol I decided to start here too lol, but now I’m doing it relatively ok.
Just wanted to say your tutorials is what taught me how to read the diagrams so now I have the freedom to fold anything I want from a book. Your videos are clear, and I love the diagram on the side and that you use all the proper folding terms. This was yet another excellent and clear tutorial. You are probably my favourite origami artist to learn from. Very easy to make (I'm an advanced folder). Loved it. I'd post a photo of what I made if I could but not sure how!

I recomend the jo nakashima's eagle(simpler version) after this origami this dragon will look like very easy origami

I was confused about how to make a head, as a result, I accidentally tore the paper. My nerves couldn't stand it, so I just started crying
I made this first try! Some people in the comments are saying it’s too hard, i recommend doing the chibi dragon first so you are familiar with the folds! that’s what i did an it worked!

update: these little guys kept me company all throughout quarantine. i have so many of them.
I remember trying to do this when I was like ten and failing. Four years later I finally completed it and it look pretty good. Nice tutorial!

I followed this tutorial to make this last night at my uncle’s birthday party and then spent the rest of the event parading the finished product around and showing everyone “my beautiful baby boy.”
