As someone who's played this game, I can honestly say that the ads are the best part about them. The game itself is an alright cute merge game with a cute unfolding story about Maddie learning about their family history through the mansion renovation while grandma Ursula is vague and not entirely forthcoming in revealing the information, much to Maddie's irritation. When I was playing it, it wasn't certain that there was a deeper mystery. The ads have seriously implied that there is, but I didn't find it to be that extensive. It may have been due to the pacing of the game.
The ad campaign, honestly, is worthy of it's own movie 🎥 and I would totally pay to see it. It's amazing (as you already know).

lol I genuinely want to play the game now (even with the annoying timer and ads) just hoping that they gonna merge the story from the ads with the game. They have a soap opera gold under their ass and their Pedro Pascal stuff was solid. Just make it a thriller movie and I will watch it.

I've never seen the live action ones before, Kathy Bates and Pedro Pascal!! but I've followed along with the animated ones... Super compelling and one of the most intriguing stories! I don't play the game and don't like merge games particularly but I'm really invested in the back story. (I also liked the ones about Merge Gardens where the people are frozen in time covered in plants and from different periods like the 1980s)

"Whales"
What's whales? Whales are people who spent a large amount of money on free to play (but you can use money to make the game faster or easier) games. These whales is only 2% of total amount of players but they spent so much it made a huge amount of money for the developers and publishers (Well, mostly publishers. Developers only get peanut).
For example, there's a guy who spent $90,000 for a game.
