Super Mario 64 glitches

- A simple tutorial/walkthrough on how to do a few glitches in Super Mario 64. First glitch shown is how to get on top of the castle without having 120 stars,
second is how to be inside of the castle while still having the scenery of outside,
third is how to backwards long jump into the aquarium,
fourth is how to be inside of the ledges with coins on them in the main castle room,
fifth is how to use the bunny in the basement to bypass the downstairs star door,
sixth is showing a spot where you can jump through the floor of the spiral staircase,
and seventh/last is how to backwards long jump up the stairs to bypass the 50 star door and up the "endless" staircase.

Sm64 is such a well made, deeply genius, beautiful, wonderous, and true gem of a game. It's funny, nostalgic, and cozy no matter where you are. It kind of feels like a childhood dream...
Not to mention how fuckin well coded it is!! I'm a programmer and I understand the power this game exhibits.

Yeah, I always did like the levels that involved swimming, it's just cool that the whole game is 3d, even the swimming.
I remember these and so many more from so long ago, this and OoT were always my favorite growing up.
While at the stairs you should have went through the wall to the bunny, he will just stand there.

I can't remember the context that I made this comment, perhaps something about the fall damage being involved in something...
The context was that in the first glitch he said that he couldn't go through the castle as it's too far of a drop

It's called being lazy, not uncultivated :)
Water levels don't deserve names.
But it is though lol
You need either a wired (non-wireless) controller, or an adapter for the wireless hooked up to your pc which is pretty expensive if I remember correctly lol. To change the camera with the keyboard, just assign the "c" buttons in the controller configuration to keys on your keyboard and you should be able to do it that way =)
The reason being is that those doors are for entering different parts of the castle (you'll notice the screen fades to black then comes back with new scenery). You can't take the bunny out of the basement area with just glitches as far as I know unfortunately =(

There is another way of getting inside of the part between main door and castle.
You gotta Lobby Backwards Longjump begins the door, and instantly cancel it with a ground pound. This way you are inside there too
I was trying out these glitches while he was doing them. I got to the aquarium and got inside. It was easy for me, but hard for him, so I had to wait a while. When he finally got in he says, " The one downside to this particular gitch is...you can't get out. What I was thinking: may your Nintendo 64 blow up into a billion pieces.
I like how people knew about lblj years ago and didn’t know how much of a difference it would make until a few years later

Hey man, I just wanted to thank you for showing how to do the basement stair glitch/clip thing! I tried @ing you in my video where I do said glitch, bit it didn't work on my end; might not help that I did it on my phone.

You can do this in the N64 game. But in a computer version you need an outside program

Awesome. I just bought a Logitech controller for my Project64. Your glitches work but still trying the bunny. This game is still fun.

if you mean on the main stairs in the lobby, i think if you try to backwards long jump on them, you actually fall through them.
This was a revolutionary game and the graphics are still awesome

Just did the glitches and the ones on the top floor to get to the 50 star and 70 star level make me feel like the skin on my thumb is gonna fall off.
you forgot this glitch from wet-dry world were the water spider got stuck from between the brown bridge and the fence, i was like "woah! i never that before!", it's super hard and difficult to do the glitch.
How much you know about this game you dont know that "spider water level" is Wet-Dry

I did the glitch with the weird ledge by the stairs, in 3d all stars bit instead i ran down and backflipped to grab the ledge and it works!
I explained it as best I could, can't think of any better way to describe it. =\

When he got to the top of the mountain, I stared at the screen, and then my brain felt like it was being squashed, and I shook uncontrollably. This literally happened and I don't know why.

I might point out the columbs you was talking about.. well, after several hours trying to make that glitch, I finally did :) on an original n64... so it's not totally impossible, but you won't make it in the first shot ;)
@ne0cha0s. The fourth glitch that you showed and you said "there is really no need for this" but in fact if you are inside of the pillar and face away from the 8 star door and backwards long jump you are able to get to the first Bowser without any stars.
Yes it is real. To do the backwards long jump, you must do the regular long jump first, continue to hold down the z button, then while holding the analog stick backwards, continuously press the jump button until mario slowly starts moving backwards and doing the long jump.
I loved the first glitch becuase I always tried to get up there but stupid gravity kept me from

It works, but keyboards can only register a certain amount of keys being pressed at the same time so that's probably why you can't do it. I used an emulator and a 360 wired controller to do it =)

I enter in the fish place u done in second glitch but i enter using a lblj
on the glitch to get behind doors you cant unlock yet with the long jumps, my brother who is a sm64 glitch master took 30 min to do it and i got it on y 7th try
I long jumped on the left side of the infinite staircase, and it brought me to wet dry world
NOTES ABOUT THE BUNNY GLITCH : YOU CAN GLITCH THE BUNNY THROUGH THE KEY DOORS BUT WHEN YOU GET ON THE OTHER SIDE HE WILL NOT BE THERE (I HAVE TRIED THIS) , I HAVE ALSO TRIED TO THE EXACT SAME TECHNIQUE WITH THE SLIVER BACK DOOR AT THE BACK OF THE CASTLE AND THAT DID NOT WORK EITHER.
