As of this comment this PB of mine is almost 2 and a half years old, which is pretty surreal to think about. I haven't touched SM64DS for almost 2 years now, as I moved on to different speedruns to learn and take seriously. This was the first that I ever took seriously speedrunning, and I always felt like nobody cared about this run. It makes me feel happy looking back on this that so many people ended up watching this video and enjoyed it, and that I was able to inspire many others to run this through my tutorials and my SGDQ run. I guess you can say I was a "pioneer" for this run. As of now the world record stands at 11:00 by Rupa. It's insane how much optimization and such has been found. Thanks all for watching friends :)

I am legit amazed. At first I was "oh, so they discovered a way of clipping behind the locked doors without BLJ?" Then I saw the Yoshi shenanigans and was like "wait, is this just to unlock Mario? Wouldn´t the normal first star have been faster than the whole walking below the lake thing?" Then I realized it was to make the rabbits spawn and give Mario early access to the bottom floor. THEN I saw the rabbit clip to get to the 2nd Bowser stage early. And from then on my mind fucking exploded. Bravo you good sir/gal.
No, because you've got to get the Rabbit, then go back to the castle, then enter BB, THEN get to the top of the cliff, defeat King Bob-bomb... this is faster.

Maybe not alola but yes to like an opposite version of gold and silver where when you finish the game Oak tells you about this new region that has just been discovered and you have to go and fight all the johto gym leaders and at the end you could fight either the female character from crystal or the male character from gold and silver. Or maybe you could fight your rival from gold and silver either way.
64 DS is hardly any type of HD remake. It's a mishmash of higher and far lower quality sound and graphical assets. Content-wise, it's a charmer. 64 DS in the SM Odyssey engine: that's what I'm talking about. Garbage control scheme go bye-bye.
Video game voice acting wasn't taking seriously back then. They basically just took the first woman who agreed to do the role. Nowadays you have actual actors and casting. Back then Mario was the star you hear 99% of the time so they focused mostly on his fit.

I love the look of this game (mainly because M64DS is my favorite game of all time) way more than the n64 version but technically speaking the n64 modeling is better but the textures of the model is what makes the characters look better.
I’ve never seen this game’s speedrun before and it is so exciting to watch! It’s really short and jam packed with amazing difficult tricks which are a real treat to watch! Amazing work! I know you’re not active and no longer doing runs for this game but I had so much fun watching this
after watching and attempting Mario 64 speedruns so many times I have never seen a sm64 DS speedrun until this video popped up and its so cool seeing the similarities and differences between the versions and the skips people use! So cool
Both Luigi and Wario can grab and kill Bowser but they are both significantly more out of the way than Mario and in the long run wouldn't be much better anyway. Wario is slow and awkward to control. Luigi is better than Mario however the only way to obtain him is in BBH making him useless in this category.
When I was younger I was so confused by the N64 version. I had the DS version and didn't even know that the N64 existed, so when I looked up videos about Mario 64, I would not know why the models looked different. I even tried to do a BLJ in the DS version.

Maybe not alola but yes to like an opposite version of gold and silver where when you finish the game Oak tells you about this new region that has just been discovered and you have to go and fight all the johto gym leaders and at the end you could fight either the female character from crystal or the male character from gold and silver. Or maybe you could fight your rival from gold and silver either way.
64 DS is hardly any type of HD remake. It's a mishmash of higher and far lower quality sound and graphical assets. Content-wise, it's a charmer. 64 DS in the SM Odyssey engine: that's what I'm talking about. Garbage control scheme go bye-bye.

Video game voice acting wasn't taking seriously back then. They basically just took the first woman who agreed to do the role. Nowadays you have actual actors and casting. Back then Mario was the star you hear 99% of the time so they focused mostly on his fit.

The models are just so much better in this game compared to the n64 version
I love the look of this game (mainly because M64DS is my favorite game of all time) way more than the n64 version but technically speaking the n64 modeling is better but the textures of the model is what makes the characters look better.

Both Luigi and Wario can grab and kill Bowser but they are both significantly more out of the way than Mario and in the long run wouldn't be much better anyway. Wario is slow and awkward to control. Luigi is better than Mario however the only way to obtain him is in BBH making him useless in this category.

When I was younger I was so confused by the N64 version. I had the DS version and didn't even know that the N64 existed, so when I looked up videos about Mario 64, I would not know why the models looked different. I even tried to do a BLJ in the DS version.
