I remember when i was around 7. One of my older friends gifted me his ancient Nintendo 64. It was my first ever console, with my favorite game that i found inside being Super Mario 64. I remember defeating the last boss in the game and being super proud of myself. Since me and my brother were so young, we thought this game was endless due to it's massive worlds and easter eggs. (remember that this was our first ever video game to play, so we didn't know the console had limits.) I remember hugging every part of every wall in and around the castle. Hoping to find a possible secret. Whenever i did find one, me and my brother would be super happy and excited about what we had found. I never got any help from any person or book. But some how i managed to find every secret level (including the secret slide on the mountain level.) But by the time i found everything, i was 9 and we moved. We lost the Nintendo 64 in the process, but this game has given me so many memories just like a lot of people.

The hardest star for me to get was Mario Wings to the Sky in the upper part of the castle. I bought the game again in 2008, and I got all the stars in a week. I even happened to get the aforementioned star on the first try! I could probably never do that again. As I was writing this, I was listening to the song for the water stages. It was always so beautiful, and it brings back memories.
It would have been really hard to find all of these without this video. Great job. As far as Peach's side; I found that jumping and diving at the beginning of the slide, pushing the control stick forward the entire time, and taking corners on the inside of the curve was the way I could make the run in under 21 seconds.
What I do for peaches slide is build up speed and jump before the 1st descent to skip on majority of the slide (similar to speedrunning strats only no bonks at the beginning) i usually get 18.6 on this

Anybody who wants to see an ending when reaching all 120 stars(Bowser can be beaten without reaching 120), go outside and there will be a canon next to the pond(?) (or water). Fly to the top of the roof and behind, you will find Yoshi. A small event like thing will occur.
I think the camera killed me more times than I can count, adjusting when I don't want it to, or not letting me adjust far enough so I can see what I'm doing.
To use this shortcut you have to jump of the slide in a angle until you fall to the other part of the slide where spiral ends with the three small gray pillers with the one up
I missed the boat on this game when it came out in the late 90s. Played all Marios before and after it though. I just never got into this one until now. Thanks to people like you in modern times i can just walk through it. I had 118 Stars going into the Final Bowser level and it was driving me crazy, because I was sure I got all the secret castle stars. Didn't realize at 6:56 there are two in this level, if you complete the slide in 20 seconds! Easy to miss! Left this comment for anyone else who it might be helpful for.

On the metal cap star I went to the left instead of right to see what was over there and ended up falling off the edge and instead of it taking you back to the metal cap level starting point it takes you back to the home land. I was not happy cos steering the blue water monster is a pain in the A**
