You guys read my mind. Was just looking into this kit for my 135
you're lucky you have the video, I tucked mine behind the head unit, this way looks much easier
Nice upgrade - We also install these over here in the UK!
Thanks for the tipp where to put the MMI. I have to try this
Let us know if it works in your case :D
My interior looks exactly like yours but I go on the website and put my vin number and it says there is nothing that is compatible with my car. But I also have the idrive system and everything. Big bummer.
Perhaps it was caused by a server error. Please contact our support team at support@bimmer-tech.net for guidance.
Is it possible to code out the aux and have the MMI run audio via the quad lock like other car play/AA MMIs? I don't mind losing my aux or USB port if I code it out to get better sound quality. See below
"CDMM_AUX_HU

CDMM_USB_AUDIO_SINGLE

CDMM_USB_AUDIO_DOUBLE_0B

Note: Coding these changes will disable the USB data port and aux input inside of the console. It is a concession for having a higher quality audio source. If you do not want to code, you can skip this step and run the 3.5mm cable as shown in the video, but be aware there is some audio degradation using this approach."
Thank you for your help!
Can i code this with carly?
Mine doesn’t have the screen on the dash, will this kit work for me?
Please contact our sales team with your car’s VIN and they will be able to check if this retrofit will be compatible with your car: www.bimmer-tech.net/page-contact
What is that tool called that you are using to pull wire? Also I am going to be purchasing a 135is next week. I’m going to reach out to your support team.
We use trim tools from our Trim tool kit (www.bimmer-tech.net/products-trim-tool-kit-trimtoolkit) and depending on the wire we choose the most comfortable one, for wires like the fiber optic cable a pick tool is more suitable, this last one you can find it at our DIY essentials kit (www.bimmer-tech.net/products-bmw-diy-essentials) which also includes more useful tools
Can you swap to idrive system when you want?
I'm a big fan of the idrive but I love Google maps & android auto is amazing.
When in sport mode I like to see tyre temps and hp/torque features.
Yes, you can toggle between the two any time just by pressing the iDrive controller for 3 sec.
@@bimmer-tech thanks for the reply.
Do you have a link for bmw x5m50d 2016
You just have to enter your VIN here: www.bimmer-tech.net/category-bmw-carplay-mmi-retrofit and it'll take you to the compatible version
Do they have a setup for the non idrive cars? Im looking into a 128i and it does't have idrive
If there is no iDrive in your car then adding the MMI is not possible. It could be possible only if a Head Unit retrofit would be done beforehand but we would need to check compatibility with such retrofit based on your VIN.
do you know if it is necessary to reprogram the air conditioning control because I no longer have air conditioning since the installation?
There is no need to reprogram the AC after the MMI installation. If the AC is not working after the installation, it is most likely caused by one of the cables on the back of the AC panel not being connected or being connected incorrectly. For further troubleshooting, please contact our support at support@bimmer-tech.net.
@@bimmer-tech OK thank you very much, I confirm yesterday I disconnected everything and reconnected at the level of the air conditioning control and the miracle lol. And thank you very much for taking the time to answer me.
did some work on the dashboard once, after putting everything back together the AC panel was dead. Turned out to be a blown fuse. Just so you know!
@@atlasblue1978hey, do you remember which one fuse it was?
Do I still get to use my old cic as well
Absolutely, you can toggle between the OEM menu and MMI Prime using your iDrive controller.
What is the model of plug on the line cable when you're processing the mic appear at 4:34?
The connectors visible in this video are simple 2-pin pin retainers, one male, one female. These should be fine: www.amazon.com/eBoot-Connector-Female-Cable-Battery/dp/B01M5AHF0Z/ref=sr_1_29?keywords=2+pin+connector&qid=1649857812&sr=8-29
What’s that thing attached to the vent under the screen
Hey there! What do you mean?
- Dylan
Some perfume I think
Merci pour la vidéo
great installation video but would have been nice to actually see more info on what it actually does different to the standard CIC screen. Obviously apple play etc but theres about 15 seconds of the video actually showing you what happens after installing which isnt enough.
We have separate videos for it ;)

@@bimmer-tech in that case, that would be exactly what im looking for! I take back what i said and i appreciate the link! thank you
Nice work but now you won't be able to get to the fuse box 😂
No problem whatsoever with getting to the fuse box anyway :P
