This whole channel is a gold mine for artists and producers, and this tutorial might be the best one yet. Would love to see how you process vocals on an track like this 👍
I appreciate every opportunity to learn production and mixing from you; I would love to see a vocal production video on this Hyperpop / Anti-Pop style.
Please please please do a 100 geks influenced/style song! In my view, that’s the next deeper step into hyperpop where everything explained here gets taken to the next level, and puts a spin on what to do with traditionally recorded elements like guitars that brakence doesn’t quite take as far, I know I’m not alone in wanting to see what you’d do with those ideas!
This whole video is fantastic. And I did so much searching online trying to find a good tutorial with track break downs, was up and running with my own track in a night after watching this. not all heros wear capes 🙏 Will be watching all your vids now haha🏻
Actually though, I just got into Brakence. He did the same thing with Charlie Puth...I think Austin has some secret abilities he's not sharing with us 😂
loved the beginning of this tutorial with the mathrock guitar vibes. now i'd just need to learn how to play the guitar lol. idk why exactly but i don't feel like this is hyperpop. hyperpop is largely defined by its experimental nature. imo that means not only choosing sounds that were made experimentally, but actually focussing the whole production of a track around some experimental idea. for instance there is one pc music track where some unison synth always starts with a very narrow pitch spread and then it spreads out so hard that it becomes atonal af while the same synth comes in again starting with the narrow pitch spread and they are overlapping each other like some sort of "unison shepard tone" and that's kinda the thing that makes the genre so maximalist. they just put weird concepts like that into the center of the beats, while still making proper beats that are just enjoyable to listen to, so that it's not straight-up IDM or something. that's why it's not so good to just use sample-packs to get any type of hyper pop sound into a hyper pop production. it must be the exact sounds that want to live in this little world that you are creating
i lovee brakence i also dont think he makes hyperpop but it kinda happens when some does something related to a genre and it blows up it can kinda overtake the genre. same thing happened to dubstep. i think of people like sophie, ag cook, umru, petal supply for hyperpop
Same, but that's why I added "Anti Pop" too. I definitely tend to think more electronic for Hyper Pop, but that's what he was categorized as so that's where I went for the title 😂
imo i think hyperpop became more of an umbrella term for genres like pc music and others like i don't consider aldn, glaive, and brakence pc music like sophie, dylan brady etc i still consider them under the umbrella for hyperpop as a whole but that's the way i personally see it
Hi Austin! I really hope to see tutorials for songs Like JJ LIN’s Like You Do and All In His Mind. I tried to write similar songs but it always appear that it lacks something, I hope to have a tutorial about related songs!
Amazing as always! I’d love to hear how you did vocals! Do you have suggestions for people who have no clue how to play guitar? Even these easy riffs seem impossible to me. I have an acoustic but Idk whether I should buy a used electric and do dozens of takes or if I should use a VST but VSTs never sound as good. Do you think a total beginner could make something like this? Thanks Austin!
only because of this channel I am switching to Cubase 12 after being with Ableton for 10 years, so far I am about to shoot myself, so much different but I am not giving up. I still like Ableton through, I wish there were some one-on-one transition courses. Anyone knows any good ones? Thnaks
@@vincentvangraite4485 yeahh his new stuff is for getting checks and exposing himself to larger audience loll , hes smart and knows exactly what he is doing , just being less experimental and making his music more accessible !!! doesnt mean he cant do crazy shit my guy :) after all its buisness
Wudup Make Pop, love the channel esp the hyperpop stuff as of late! Just picked up the Sour Drums kit and already got one of my tracks sounding like a legit live rock drummer. Big up! A few tutorial requests:) Anything to help me getting a Joji style vocal mix + production breakdown. Also love the song JVKE - CHARGER, some really cool autotune vocal effects Im curious about. Thanks Austin and team!
Can you please do a tutorial on how to play guitar like that. Some tips and tricks while recording and arranging pop guitars like those you do would help Novice guitar players like me a lot. Im not asking for how to record or make the pop guitar sound but the playing part
YES!!! I"m so happy you're jumping into hyperpop! Definitely do the vocals, and PLEASE cover Ericdoa! He's my fave hyperpop artist and his shit do be slappin. If you haven't checked him out, check out Cheap Liquor and Primadonna for some of his best production value.

I appreciate every opportunity to learn production and mixing from you; I would love to see a vocal production video on this Hyperpop / Anti-Pop style.
Hyper Pop or the Eden style vocals would be awesome. Im trying to get a similar sound and am using plugins that get me close but not quite there.
KILLED IT MATE!
Very happy this came up on my recommended!🙌
awesome vid, do a vocal tutorial as well - i think it's extremely hard to get a punchy warm single vocal track like brakence's
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR YEARSSSSS
I've never clicked on a video so fast. Please do one on vocals!!
This is your best one yet
probably the most accurate brakence tutorial i've ever seen

I want to see austin produce afrobeat like nigerian it will be cool
thanks!

May I ask you? Where did you find these math rock guitar samples?
I played. It 😁
Final step: Have brakence's angelic voice with no reverb to save you.
bro how much time did it take for you to make this?
Wow 😲 Kinda reminds me of Andrew Huang.
I love you.
Vocals next plz.
Guitars almost have a South African vibe
Not very familiar with South African music but sweet!
The first time i heard that kind of math rock it reminded me of the west african (i guess) music my father was listening to when i was a kid.
Name song???
Not a real song. Just something I made for this tutorial!
Gimme da beat
this is unexpected
Did you say Raegenz?
Brakence
