    All I know is I had the worst lawn on the street. I purchased his book and fertilized using Scott’s 4 step program. I then apply his (crazy) formulas every year. Now people stop when driving by and ask me for my “secrets” - because they say I have the best lawn in town. And that’s the truth!

    Flower gardening sites say that anything like sugar or molasses will lower soil ph . I guess grasses that will handle low soil ph will be fine otherwise it will be hard to get results . I thought about using this but I was told to use grass clipping tea instead . Five gallon bucket of clippings will do my whole yard & could dilute for light apps. 👌

    I always had a little trouble using the hose end sprayers. I did a flow test and found that I empty a 20 gallon hose end bottle in two 5 gallon buckets. I bel;eve that means I am spraying twice as much spray as I need. So I believe I need to cut the amount in the bottle by half. For me a 20 gallon bottle is a 10 gallon bottle?

    I tried your tonics with no luck. I'm not saying that they don't work because I've seen the lawns you have. My lawn is always looking yellow and no lawn at all in some areas. I sent various soil samples to a lab and discover that my soil had a very low ph. I started a limestone treatment last week. Still no dramatic effects on the lawn. I guess it takes time for the limestone to correct the soil ph. I live in a hot area and I have centipede.

    • @quirk2190
      @quirk2190 9 лет назад +1

      Liming will take 3-6 months to raise the pH in the soil, depending on which "plant zone" you live in. But Centipede grass is a pain. Sure it doesn't need much nitrogen, however it doesn't tolerate traffic, compaction, heavy shade, or drought. Also if you get any snow where you live Centipede grass does not recover well from winter damage the following spring. Bermuda may be a better choice of turf just depending on your preferences.

      It displays ounces for measuring products that will empty after 20 gallons has passed through it. So if your product says apply 1 ounce of product per 1 gallon water for 1000 square. Ft. You would use 20 ounces of product it the cup and spray 20,000 Sq. Ft of lawn

    How do you get rid of flees in woolen carpe?

    • @rare1walking
      @rare1walking 3 года назад

      Sprinkle with b soda or borax. Check for wool reaction before. Steam clean kills eggs and larvae. Research safe temp.
      Wooden floors: Murphy's oil soap. Lemon oil.
      A flea trap of a light colored pie plate or low tray with some water and a few drops of dish detergent set by a night light will attract and drown fleas.
      A spritzer spray of half water/half rubbing (isopropyl)alcohol with about 7 drops of essential oil per small dollar store bottle. 4 to 8 oz? can be used to spray furniture. Use oils like tea tree, lavender, lemon grass, citronella, eucalyptus etc.
      Can spray shoes with it.
      A sticky type lint roller on the sofa reduces all 3 stages.
      Hose sprayer with some dish detergent or Basic H to spray grass around entryways. Keep lawn mowed.
      For being eaten alive by them, put some hand and body lotion and about 4 drops of sage or essential oil listed above, mix in palm and wipe lightly on ankles, a scent wipe up legs and down arms, around forehead if necessary, nape of neck, shoes or slippers to keep fleas at bay until you've vacuumed, tossed rugs and bedding in dryer or washed, etc. Fleas carry diseases you don't need.
      After vacuuming, vacuum up borax and put vac bag in a garbage bag, twist tie and freeze to kill stragglers.

    Hi , I shampoo my lawn using Jerry Baker
    recipe to make it green and I got reverse results. After few days I felt that my lawn started get yellow. When I investigated more carefully I found a layer stayed on soil, initially I thought it is a layer of fungus but later I found that is a layer of dried foam. Is it fine? Do you have any suggestion that how can I save my lawn? Here was my recipe :
    1 Cup of Baby Shampoo
    1 Cup CORN SYRUP
    1 Cup of Regular Cola
    1 Cup of Ammonia
    P.S.1 The current temperature is 70 in day but we had a two days around 87.
    P.S.2 I mow the lawn two day before I applied the tonic. (1/3)

    • @davidbaughman9726
      @davidbaughman9726 4 года назад

      Based on another soil loosener/conditioner I’ve used before (a fancy version of dish soap) you need to water heavily after applying the soap so it will rinse off the foliage and into the soil. So I would skip the cola as someone else said, because that probably contributes to the foaming. And then make sure to water in the mixture if it’s still sitting atop the foliage.

    • @FreeJulianAssange23
      @FreeJulianAssange23 3 года назад +1

      He said beer, ammonia, lawn food, dish soap, molasses or clear corn syrup. Cola kills metal so I can’t see it being good for grass.

    Please explain why ammonium hydroxide, found in hosehold
    cleaning ammonia, will work as well as anhydrous ammonium nitrate like the
    farmers spray, or urea? I've watched two videos now of people who
    have followed your recipe and claim there was no result at all. Thanks,
    Mason

    • @usmguy1234
      @usmguy1234 6 лет назад +4

      Ammonium hydroxide evaporates very quickly and probably doesn't allow for sufficient uptake in the grass. However, if you do a simple metathesis reaction with Epsom salt you'll get a much better result. If you dissolve Epsom salt (MgSO4) in water and add ammonium hydroxide (NH4OH) you'll get ammonium sulfate ((NH4)2SO4) and Magnesium Hydroxide (Mg(OH)2). Since the magnesium hydroxide is highly insoluble, it will precipitate out of solution(will make the solution milky but it is easily filtered with cheesecloth or an old shirt or even a coffee filter) leaving you with a solution of ammonium sulfate which is a salt (it will just be dissolved) rather than a volatile liquid. It will serve you much better and allow for proper uptake in the grass. Just a word of warning, the sulfate in the solution will acidify the soil (which is not necessarily a bad thing)...but it can be overdone.
