Omega 3 fats are anti-inflammatory signaling molecules. They oppose omega 6 molecules that signal for inflammation. Both are essential but they should be quantitatively in balance.

For years I took all the pills and all the stuff that the doctor's recommended and then all the sudden COVID happened and myself and probably millions of others realized I should go back to the garden you know the biblical garden and that's what I did and now all the sudden I'm of the age of Medicare and I have to find a doctor and I don't want some doctor to pump me full of pills and vaccines so I'm dragging my feet choosing a doctor, your tips are great thank you.
You are an adult. Look your doc in the eye and face your challenges. It's YOUR body! He works for YOU.
I hear you. I lost the only doctor I ever had who believed in Keto and IF for diabetes. He was my greatest cheerleader, as I got my numbers lower and lower. But he moved away, and I was at a loss. His replacement was SO ignorant and pushy. And didn't listen to me at all. So I fired her. I've seen another Dr twice, but I'm really not sure about her. She's going to take some convincing.
But I absolutely refuse to take any meds that I don't want. Such as Statins. I've seen the research. And I've made up my mind. My body my choice.
Dr.Boz. I am so with you. Comity makes me eat it outside. King Oscar for me!
Any sardine suppositories?
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Oh! I see chia seeds & walnuts high on the list! I enjoy those too!
Oxylate overload. Look into the book toxic superfoods. You might benefit from learning about oxylates.
Did you watch the video? They do not convert well to DHA and EPA so they are a no go.
Interesting Topic 😊. Good update👏🏽 There is something about conducting studies and getting updates from researching. It's helping our world. Thank you for this 🙏🏽
Dr Boz, can you learn and make a video regarding estrogen deprivation and elevated cholesterol ?
I will have to look into this I have had to stop my estrogen supplements d/t blood clots and my cholesterol has skyrocketed. T/Y 😊
Were
Wish she would list the study.
Good Information, if you don't like the taste???? I eat herring and Mackerel , I don't like to have ambulance ride!!!😂
🤜🏼 💥 🤛🏼 That’s the money shot Dr. Boz. Thank you!!
So Pescatarians eating oily fish with veggies have the healthier diet for non heart disease etc.
Did these people actually have raised tryponen levels that actually is used to diagnose MI?? Not all chest pain is STEMI. There are so many variables so I need to read this study to evaluate the conclusions. Also, what was their p value in the statistical analysis . ❤
What about eggs ?
What is the relationship with fish with omega 3 ‘ and purine (Uric acid)(gout and kidney stones)
I love sardines, and I love Dr Boz.
I have a lot of questions.
1) I sweet profusely. When I walk, when doing any kind of exertion. Why do I do this…? Any ideas?
Is cod liver oil good Annette ?
Best name brand omega 3s?
I use Carlson Super Omega fish oil soft gels 500 EPA&DHA...it is best to get from fresh fish if possible, of course!
Doctor Boz hows about a supplement recommendation??
Love you videos..ty
Just filmed that supplement video this past week
@@DoctorBoz ty..I'll find that one.
So what are the triglyceride forms that you mentioned?
If potassium is inside the cell, and we eat the meat, shouldn't that be adequate?
Your table of omega 3 in various food is interesting. I've avoided ordering salmon in restaurants because it is likely farm raised. But seeing that the omega 3 level is comparable to wild caught, I'll start ordering it.
Farm raised is better than no salmon but farm raised are given antibiotics. I seek out restaurants that serve only wild caught.
@@karencampbell8248and wild caught is depleting the supply of salmon. It’s tough either way.
I switched to sardines, at least for now.
@@nancycy9039 I'm considering sardines but just haven't been able to get there yet. Not appealing but working on it. Years ago I didn't eat salmon either.
Omega 3 does not outweigh the massive harm from farmed salmon
@@jodyjackson5475 What massive harm?
Also don’t ignore the huge amount of oxylates in flax seeds and all other seeds. They’re something to avoid/limit for everyone. No oxylates in sardines. No good excuse to avoid them unfortunately lol.
Many people are allergic to fish. Even to the smell of it. I say that is a good reason to avoid it.
@@sarahb.6475 I've never heard anyone actually "allergic" to fish or meat.
Maybe shellfish or mollusks yes, actual fish and meat, never heard of it.
It's mostly a preference like you said, they don't like the smell or taste.
Mercury, and micro plastics in Sardines. I'll take my chances with flax seeds.
great video. You mention triglyceride EPA supplements. Example please? thank you!!
I enjoy ALL of those fishes. Good info. Thanks😊
It's about that time for my yearly check-up. Which blood tests would you recommend i get?
Question: (Doc, or if anyone else knows)...Usually sardines are processed in Al cans, and w/high temps. High temps, if high enough, change "good fats...to bad". Therefore is there a risk, either from the Al cans or the molecular structure of the good fats changing due to this heat? Thank you. (All-the-more true, bc fish oils are more vulnerable to high heat, due to their fewer "double bonds".)
I take krill oil every day, does that help?
yes it does
I have no gall bladder. I did try sardines in olive oil . I threw up all night long. Never again.
Eat them in water, not oil
Fatty 15….? have you looked into this new idea? I’m on it .. would be really interested in your opinion of this new theory and treatment. The proponents say fatty 15 is far more active than omega 3 … is it tripe? Need to know .. thanks 🙏🏻
Has it helped you?
Can't go wrong with those Seasons sardines you get in Costco. Think I'll head over and buy some more.
What should your omega 3 measure? What's an ideal range?
There is some evidence that more 4g of supplimentation can lead to atrial fibrilation. But you get benefits at lower doses.
What about Krill oil?
Recommended omega 3 supplement? I do not like any fish well enough to eat it regularly. I have extremely sensitive smell reactions.
Thank you
What is the Triglyceride form supplement?
Flaxseed oil has been implicated in agressive Prostate cancer.
Of course it has, all Omega 6s promote tumor growth.
Google "excess polyunsaturated fat tumor growth"
Dr Boz suggestions please for anyone who is vegetarian. I cannot cope with eating or taking anything from a slaughtered/killed animal. Yes, I know before anyone comments but I just can't.
Algae is the only vegetarian source with actual EPA and DHA. Look for a high dose brand like Brain Armor.
@@maddisonharder2942Thank you 😊
I have a history of AFIB. I have read that some studies have liked Omega-3 to triggering AFIB in some people. What are your thoughts on this?
2 g of carnitine and 1 g of Omega3 for breakfast. Nothing more until 2pm where I have one fabulous low carb meal with a tin of mackerel as a starter. Then another g or carnitine, 2 house later a few berries with greek yog then nothing for the rest of the day.
Wouldn't red-blood-cell magnesium levels be an important piece of information as well regarding survivability?
How do you know it's just the Omega 3's that are helping. Maybe it's just a common marker of a healthy person. Can you show an actual mechanism as to how the lonely omega 3 keeps you from dying?
Omega 3 fats are anti-inflammatory signaling molecules. They oppose omega 6 molecules that signal for inflammation. Both are essential but they should be quantitatively in balance.
@@whiznot3028 I'm aware of that theory. one may ask why did they have a heart attack in the first place? What they were doing, diet wise, must have been not ideal. plus there are a multitude of factors that go into whether or not a person survives a heart attack. It's an association. just like the studies that show meat is bad for you.
@@whiznot3028 Yes if the omega 3 is so protective why were the people in the ambulance 😂🤣. Not the best advertisement- you’ll have a heart attack but live probably.
It has a blood thinning effect and lowers triglycerides in the blood, and lowers CrP.
@@BeefNEggs057 because if they still ate plaque forming foods they will still get plaque no matter how much salmon or sardines they ate.
I have been getting chest pains frequently especially at night and read about how Omega 3s could be the cause of a-fib at a cellular level. I was taking 1000 mgs in the morning and at night(180 EPA,120 DHA each pill)molecularly distilled. I quit taking them and the chest pains quit. Now I just sit on about 800 softgels and lost $50 bucks. Was I wrong for buying them?😮
Im new here, 🤗what kind omega 3 does she recommend? I see so many and some good reviews and some bad ones, has anyone tried a good omega 3 in the form of triglyceride?
Omega 3 index in Japsn is about 7 or 8, in North America about 3 or 4. Take your omega 3 supplements!! I hate cooked salmon! But I do eat it raw (sashimi) . I take my omega 3 supplements every day.
Raw fish has parasites
3:46 - With all the chemicals & disease with farmed Salmon, how does farmed have more EHA/DHA than wild caught Salmon?
Only because it has more overall fat in it.
Just like grain fed beef has more fat than grass-fed beef.
For all the reasons you said though, not good to eat.
Last time I looked mackeral did slightly better for both EPA and DHA. I suppose it varies?
Took the Omega test you sell on 4/1/24. Result: 7.62#. Will be taking it again soon to see if there is improvement.
Thanks, Dr Bozworth!
To avoid all the heavy metals in fish, I eat sardines sometime. I also take fish oil of high quality.
Dr. Boz, please help me. I think I should eat Omega 3’s because the supplements I thought the supplements would give one a higher risk of Afib; is that true? Maybe I should form an affinity for the sardines…?
And here I was thinking sardines were the highest only to now learn salmon (which I love) is higher in omega-3. Good to know.
Was wondering if you could do a video on "AFEs" which apparently is equally as important as hi fat low carb. Does the way you cook your food, especially meat" really matter? Thanks and God Bless:)
Are we supposed to eat Sardines every day?
You lost my trust when you put canola oil on that list.
Good luck
Sardines have too many parasites tho 😢
Source?
I love sardines and eat them almost everday!
Yeah, College Dr. William S. Harris and Dr. Clemens von Schacky ... developed the gold- standard ...
I just read a study that high omega 3s is now being linked to cancers. Thoughts?
What's your thoughts on purslane ( the plant )??? Ty
Same as nuts
Body doesn’t convert well
