Criticism for not using a “real” woman?? Clearly, the video shows a living, breathing, real human woman. The fact that one is considered more “real” than another, guessing because she’s not large enough, is absolutely ridiculous and perpetuates body shaming, just in the opposite direction. Thank you for saying that. When I was little I constantly heard that I was too thin. I still hear it, much less now, but it's followed by "well, you didn't have a baby, that's why" or "you don't eat this or that, that's why" . It seems that many think they have a right to comment on our bodies, looks, lifestyle choices and evaluate them in our faces. We are the way we are because of many reasons - we choose our diet and lifestyle or we are unlucky to have different illnesses which make us weigh more or less. I believe it's nobody's business. Congratulations on your collection and the success of it! It must have taken courage and a lot of time to document the process which is brutally hard, especially at the early points when so many things can still go wrong before the outcome is certain. Too often we hear from success stories and TV that we're supposed to believe in our vision, our dream, and working hard. All true, but few young people can imagine what that means. This shows a budding designer young entrepreneur what it actually takes. I also admire how you've made technology integral to your creative process. It's hard to envision a small operation in the 21st century succeeding without sharp sense of the niche...and strategic use of technology. I vaguely recall your saying you had travel plans to Helsinki this year. Is that correct? If you're not meeting a Finn who can take you on an insider's tour, and you're interested in finding design oriented sights, I'd be happy to list a few ideas! I visit there often as my brother lives there. He and his wife are both in design related fields so when I visit we always go see architecture/art/design things. Let me know and I'll email you.

Justine, I know i am only one person and it might not mean anything to you,but I enjoy your videos more than words can say. You opened yourself to everyone and there are people that are plainly mean spirited and take great pleasure in tearing people/things apart. There are also those that are ignorant of the subject that they believe they have such expertise. Another category are those that are jealous. I realize you know that not everyone will adore your clothing( I do not fall in that category)for whatever reason. However, if someone doesn't want to order from your designs there is no need to follow you or tear you apart for your design process or choices. There are innumerable things of interest on the internet for them to find something they will like. I have numerous health issues and I have had times where I was bedridden and in so much pain that I prayed for the lord to take me. One thing this has taught me is that life is a gift and what you do with it is your choice. I just feel that having an open mind and heart toward others is ond of the best things we can do for ourselves as well as others. Your videos show such a kind heart and keen mind that I watch them numerous times. Should you do things differently in the future I know that I will enjoy your videos as much as i have in the past. Do what you need to make yourself happy and balanced. I pray for you to have a joyousyear filled with all the things you deserve. What a moving tribute, Dawn Kidd, you made me cry! (in a very good way). I only have my sister left; our mum died way too early, age 66, but she would have embraced this wonderful talented woman, and her beautiful designs (Eva loved clothes). You wrote many very wise and wonderful things. My sis is in the public eye and yes, successful, but she hired someone to weed out the 'trollers' as they call these malicious people; of course it hurts, even when you know they are only acting out their own frustrations. The writer/actor Stephen Fry was obliged to do the same thing; he was terribly hurt when people used the internet as a platform to harm or disparage others. Thank you so so much for what you wrote; it went to my heart.
Me personally I don’t like Justine’s clothing style, it’s just not my style and I don’t see myself wearing them. But man I’m obsessed with her personality and talent. I'm size 8 uk, but I bought a size M because I wanted the tshirt to look loose, i'm a pear shape and fitted tops accentuate my disproportions lol (I learned that from justine) I would say the size guide is very accurate, I bought a bigger size and it stills looks shappy, not boxy at all. It's good quality, i washed it many times now, and it hasn't lost it's shape, colour, etc.And the material dont need ironing! Hope this info helps :)

As artists, we expose a very personal side of ourselves when we put the fruits of our imaginations out into the world. It takes courage to be vulnerable where it takes zero courage to throw rocks from behind a keyboard. As my grandfather always told me, "Never hide your light under a bushel." A flame in the dark always attracts a lot of insects, but it also lights the way for those who are searching. Your collection is beautiful, as are you.

Learn alot about fashion and has immensely increased my fashion sence and taste. Problem is that in my country most of the clothes have prints and ppl like that more. I like solid colours and difficult to get those, only high end designers have solid colours

Wow! love the Blk tencel top! Going to save up for my First JL! I"m in the process of loosing weight so... I really want to focus on quality vs quantity. I don't really have a lot of clothes ; because of my weight I don't really shop. I want to start from scratch & that is what really keeps me on my Healthy eating Journey. I love all the clothing. It is a gorgeous collection. You are an exceptional designer. That cardigan and the skirt are my favorite. Unfortunately I will not be able to wear them because I am a 3x and it makes me so sad. I appreciate you including up to a us size 14 because that is the median size here in the US. Perhaps next time you could do just one piece a bit bigger? Well done!

And as you said, not thin but short :) I am 5.2''. I feel that the first picture you show on your video is beautiful but it will cut short people, shorter. I thought to wear it with the same color top, that will elongate me, but again, the different color belt, even the gatherings of the skirt on the top, will cut me short. I K yes! I am 4’11” and it’s near impossible to find good quality, stylish clothing that I don’t have to make major alterations on. So I spend almost twice the money on clothing as a “average-sized” person.

As artists, we expose a very personal side of ourselves when we put the fruits of our imaginations out into the world. It takes courage to be vulnerable where it takes zero courage to throw rocks from behind a keyboard. As my grandfather always told me, "Never hide your light under a bushel." A flame in the dark always attracts a lot of insects, but it also lights the way for those who are searching. Your collection is beautiful, as are you.
Just ignore the whiners. I am tall and naturally very slim and healthy. There are a lot of girls like me, and we are "real", too! Nothing wrong with the model you picked :)

We try to show people how films get made but never the inspiration of a film before. Learn alot about fashion and has immensely increased my fashion sence and taste. Problem is that in my country most of the clothes have prints and ppl like that more. I like solid colours and difficult to get those, only high end designers have solid colours

Wow! love the Blk tencel top! Going to save up for my First JL! I"m in the process of loosing weight so... I really want to focus on quality vs quantity. I don't really have a lot of clothes ; because of my weight I don't really shop. I want to start from scratch & that is what really keeps me on my Healthy eating Journey. I really want to do a capsule wardrobe and have a JL piece is going to be surreal. lol Congrats on the new collection.
I love all the clothing. It is a gorgeous collection. You are an exceptional designer. That cardigan and the skirt are my favorite. Unfortunately I will not be able to wear them because I am a 3x and it makes me so sad. I appreciate you including up to a us size 14 because that is the median size here in the US. Perhaps next time you could do just one piece a bit bigger? Well done!

I am 5.2''. I feel that the first picture you show on your video is beautiful but it will cut short people, shorter. I thought to wear it with the same color top, that will elongate me, but again, the different color belt, even the gatherings of the skirt on the top, will cut me short.

I K yes! I am 4’11” and it’s near impossible to find good quality, stylish clothing that I don’t have to make major alterations on. So I spend almost twice the money on clothing as a “average-sized” person.
