I'm gonna be honest though, that song isn't even close to as good to anything prior to Mark Of The Blade. I'm a big Whitechapel fan, but this new album isn't really them. It's a good song tho don't get me wrong
@@AlphaXbot this is where opinions split man. I've never been a fan of Whitechapel. Ive respected their music and I know Phil is a great vocalist. But honestly, their music wasn't anything new so I just couldn't get into them. Now though? This is DIFFERENT. It stands out. It's NEW and FRESH. Not so much the music industry as some segments of the metalhead community and their attitudes. This song is aimed at elitist metalheads. I'm 40 now, have been a metalhead for 30 years{since 88} and am primarily a fan of old school death metal, old school thrash metal, some black metal, and the classical heavy metal of bands like Maiden and Priest and Ozzy and Alice Cooper and Grim Reaper and WASP and so on. As such, I would be by default amongst the so-called 'metal elite"- however I am not a metal ELITIST, an important distinction I think. I used to consider and call myself a metal elitist{though I never really liked the arbitrary, hypocritical, superificial "poser hunting" attitude that came along with it much}, I think this attitude is a juvenile one and is more understantable for YOUNG metalheads or newbies[Especially if very young still}- because they are young and immature and still ignorant and juvenile in many ways{naturally}- I don't condemn such youngins for the mistake and error in their reasoning so much{I might gently try and correct them with reasoned argument though- to try and train them to also be more reasoned and mature}- but for anyone over 25-30 who is still engaged in this heresy hunting poser hunting pseudo-elitist nonsense I am less patient with- I mean..grow the fuck up people! You're not 12 years old anymore, there is no excuse for this hypocritical, arbitrary, witch hunting bullshit if you're a grown up. A few years ago I almost got sucked into this attitude again{I did..a bit}- but then I caught myself and reasoned and sidestepped it- cause..jesus I'm 40, time to grow up and get past this juvenile nonsense and this heresy/witch hunting poser hunting bullshit! In my opinion the old schoolers{whether they grew up during that era or who are yuongins and newbies} that engage in it are either stupid, hypocritical, juvenile, bullies by nature, immature- or a combination of or all the above. I don't personally like deathcore{some of it is ok, IMO, some of it isn't IMO, this is a matter of taste not value judgement}, thus I don't own or haven't heard much Whitechapel{or other deathcore}- though I've heard some. But I do not look down upon or condemn or heresy hunt them either, different strokes for different metal folks IMO{and this is afterall what the so-called and barely existant anymore "metal rotherhood" IS- to not have the exact same tastes for the exact same bands or subgenres of metal but to nonetheless respect each other as fellow metalheads}, but when I heard this song awhile back- while I'm not into the music much{it doesn't completely suck IMO, just not that into it}- I recognized the message they were trying to get acrossed and I can agree with that message. Thanks for reviewing it and giving your analysis and comments/views on it all
@Will Baker you should check out their new singles, especially “When a Demon Defiles a Witch”. Like you, Im not big into their old stuff or deathcore in general, but this is different. Its like progressive death metal almost, it really is amazing and completely shocked me when I heard it.
Whitechapel - Bring me home. First time the band added clean singing. Songs about his father passing away while Phil was still young and Phil's mental state back then.
This song is aimed at the metal community specifically. Phil got sick of what he was seeing within the metal community and wrote the song to call people out on their behavior and to say hey we are all metal heads let's just enjoy the music or don't bash what other people listen to if you don't care for it.

I think Sori you will especially love this: It’s time you reviewed a second QUEENSRYCHE (another Seattle band) song. Vin loved ‘Eyes Of A Stranger’ last year. I recommend ‘Silent Lucidity’ their biggest hit. It went Top 10 in 91 and was nominated for Grammys and AMAs and nominated for 5 MTV Video awards, winning one, beating R.E.M.s Losing My Religion in the Viewers Choice category. It is a beautifully lush ballad with strings by Michael Kamen of Metallica fame as well as many film scores. You will love it so much I think. Video is great too. Please use the studio version or official video version. No good quality live clips. Trust me. Sooo good.
Possession, This Is Exile, The Darkest Day of Man, I Dementia, Saw is the Law, When a Demon Defiles a Witch or any single from their new album. Those are songs you will probably like. They are also their more popular ones

It's still weird for me to see how big whitechapel have become. To me, they're still just just my bros that would come over to my house and party after playing a local show at the springbrook gym in Alcoa.
I love Whitechapel and all, but everyone reacts to this song. I think this isn't the best song/album to start off with and probably their weakest release instrumentally. Their newest stuff AND their older stuff are leagues better. Try Possession, Brimstone, This is Exile, or Third Depth. Love you guys!
Do Bring Me Home by Whitechapel, then react to the songs off the new album The Valley. I really think that song serves as a prequel to The Valley because it's about how Phil Bozeman (their vocalist) lost both of his parents. And The Valley is actually based on journal notes his mom took from around that time.

I’m a simple man. I see White chapel pops up. I click. Can we get some Architects next?! Gone with the wind or Memento Mori would be great songs to analyze
Great video. I like your style of reactions. You dont just listen to this song make 2 or 3 stops and just say if you like it or not, you take the time to Analyse the lyrics and share your thoughts with us. I appreciate that. If you want to hear more of Whitechapel then I would recommend you „When a demon defiles a Witch“, „Third Depth“ or „Hickory Creek“ from their new album The Valley. The lyrics are very personal stuff of the vocalist Phil who had a really rough childhood and it’s very good music too. It’s more melodic then the older stuff and includes clean vocals which are actually pretty good. But if you want to hear an „older“ song that’s amazing then I would recommend you „The Saw is the Law“. I’m not a big fan of the older stuff from them but this song is great.

Thanks for reviewing it and giving your analysis and comments/views on it all.

Finally
