    Very nice...One suggestion: Never ever pour in any hot drink in plastics. Be it tea coffee or soup when served piping hot in cheap plastic cups/jugs may cause some degeneration of the plastics and some chemicals may get dissolved in the hot liquid and can get consumed while drinking the hot drink

    Hi Chetna, I gave this a go and it turned out well! I like my chai a little more spicy--do you have a recommendation for getting some more heat in it? More cloves?

    • @FoodwithChetna
      @FoodwithChetna  6 лет назад +2

      Yes more cloves but actually more ginger will give you more heat.

      Here in the states there is an ayurvedic tea to help with colds, that has black pepper in it. The pepper makes it very spicy so if ginger isn't hot enough that's something to try.

    I just watched this tonight, and started it on the hob. After putting in all the spices, I noticed no fresh ginger. :( Instead, I popped in some dry ground -- not the same, I understand -- knowing I could strain out some later. Near the end, I also noticed I had no milk -- well after grocers had closed -- so put in 1/3 tsp of butter for 3 full mugs. *omg* This was such a deliciously bastardised mug of chai, but it tasted SO GOOD! I can't wait to try it proper tomorrow when the shops are open. Thank you soooooo much for this!!!

    In another video you produced, you used more cloves (3-4), more cardamom (3-4), no mention of the cinnamon and the "small" piece of ginger was bigger. Which is correct?

    Aaww, that look so yummy and comforting! Definitely going to give it a try :) Cheta, a little advice, if I may, please dear better not pour the hot chai into a plastic can. The hotted plastic will release harmful substances. Next time better pour the hot chai into a glass, stainless steel, ceramic or porcelain can ❤️

    I love masala chai! I am still baffled tough about the plastic jug!
    Why would anyone put a boiling drink into a plastic jug? Plastic will "melt" / get soft at a high temperature and certain chemicals from the plastic will be released into the tea. Why anyone would be oblivious to this is beyond my comprehension.
    Be careful dear Chetna, think of you and your children´s health.
