this album takes me back to Bible school days...20 yrs later, a missionary, beat up and bleeding but still fighting by the grace of God. Jesus is my Rock! Petra has a sticker on my shield of faith :)

I got this album for Christmas around 1990-1991. I remember being so happy to have it I only remember one other present that year...a Carmen album. God you are so good! Thank you for calling me then and never giving up on me. You are my rock!!

Holy moly! Bob Hartman is a CRAZY GOOD guitarist! I'm sitting here trying to learn this song note-for-note by ear and my jaw is on the floor half the time. I've learned plenty of shredder songs before, but this song takes a lot more skill than many of them. (Not all of them, mind you, but oh, my goodness! This dudes amazing!)
I've been thinking of trying to learn this song since 1992, when I first heard it, and I'm finally sinking my teeth into it.
Oh his early stuff is even harder. The secret to Bob's style is the riffs are simpler than they sound. But yes he's one of the best of his generation. I met him in 2012 for the first time he is still a super creative guy!!

Petra turned the corner when John Schlitt became the lead singer... Greg Volz was good, but as times changed something new was needed to freshen Petra's sound for a new generation. Both are outstanding with this band... also the fact that this band was together for a total of 35 years is also a great testimonal to their committment to God, their music, and their fans.
... and each other! Most bands drive each other crazy after a time.

I know those scriptures but i don't know where "music that glorifies Jesus comes from from satan" is written. please pass those verses along to the rest of us. Because this argument makes no sense in any way.
So sad how Satan has blinded you and you fell into his trap. I pray that the light be shown before it's too late. I pray your heart opens and accepts the truth.

Rock music is just music, it can be used for good or for evil. And this music clearly has the good message about Christ!
If you're a christian, you shouldn't criricise other christians in how they express their fate.

As I listen to this song, I am writing an Email to the UN Secy Gen about the possibility of a "small" Nuclear War between India and Pakistan.
And we could go to War with Iran next week! If Russia comes to the aid of its Ally, Iran-- that's WWIII.

I have replaiced Turisas with Maylene and the sons of disaster, Muse with Petra, ke$ha for soundtrack music :P. But honestly listening to christan rock and metal has really helped me now. Its great stuff. I'm seeing if I can replace my music to christan music, if any of you guys know any great rock, metal, contemparary (bad speller sorry) or even country christan bands please let me know? thank you very much.
