my mate has a mid 50s goldtop, it smells of old sweat, cigarettes and a slight hint of vomit - no would or could fake that

It’s actually Shaw pickups as in ‘Tim Shaw’. You can usually tell them by the black ink stamp on the back.
Not sure if Shure actually made guitar pickups!?
