Fun little detail: When Soos closes the door of Stan unraveling what’s behind the vending machine, it’s actually Bill who already knows what’s behind it. Hence why he yells ”boring” which also is a very Soos thing to do.

Except that doesn't work because Bill says he's following them to find the secret code and Soos is the one who gave the information
So either A Bill knew about the secret door but couldn't open it himself which doesn't really make sense
Or B he switched places with Soos right after he revealed it and Soos went goofing around

At last! The moment we've all been waiting for, when you two finally meet the evil Dorito, the diabolical triangle, the Illuminati symbol himself, and best villain, if not best character in _Gravity Falls,_ it's BILL CIPHER!!! Seriously, I cannot stress enough how much I absolutely love this guy, and I love that the voice Alex Hirsch gave him is literally the same one he'd later give King Clawthorne, just with added demonic reverb. Oh and "Remember! Reality's an illusion, the universe is a hologram, buy gold! Byeeee!”

Bill sure knows how to make an entrance, doesn't he.
The choice to make Bill feel different and way more powerful than everyone and to showcase it through unique animation meant exclusively for him was such a brilliant choice on the crew's part. Paired with Alex Hirsch's incredible performance you get one of the most interesting characters in the show thus far.
From here on out, the show *really* kicks it into high gear. All of the world building and foreshadowing starts to pay off immensely, and lets the crew do more of it for later.
For anyone that didn’t know, when Gideon was casting the spell to summon Bill he was speaking in reverse. He was just saying backwards message 3 times😂

There is a reason Gidon was able to take the deed and claim the Mystery Shack. Basically it is all Quentin Trembley founder of Gravity Falls.
He created weird laws that are still around. Specifically the "Finders Keepers" law.
The Gravity Falls "Finders Keepers" law allows whoever holds a physical deed to own that property. This law was created by Quentin Trembley as an experiment to create a new form of government called "GimmieOcracy."

I personally thought it was because Stan doesn’t pay the IRS his taxes, is a con man and probably has multiple false identities, did counterfeiting, etc.
If he tried to get the police involved, the local police would side with Gideon due to corruption, and the state and federal would seize the property because they would find out about the tax evasion would they take a closer look at the property taxes.
The government would prevent him from getting the property and put him on the run, and the deed would still be lost.
Dude here is usually right on top of recognizing voice actors. I'm surprised he didn't immediately comment on hearing King and Zuko in Bill and Craz's respective voices.

Don't know what you mean by Zuko. Dante Basco doesn't have any credits in this show. Craz is voiced by Greg Cipes. Beast Boy, Kevin Levin, Michelangelo, etc.

Interesting thing, Bill Cypher turns up in a lot of places, and Im not just talking about throughout Gravity Falls. Theyve turned up in Rick and Morty, the Simpsons, The Owl House, Amphibia, etc.

Genuinely season one ep 19 is overrated, as cool as seeing Bill and the dream world is. I think 20 is the better episode. Overall the story is done well and the ending is really good.

Interesting that you mention Eda, as it's been hinted in one of GF's commentary tracks that Eda (briefly) married Stan in Vegas, and took the opportunity to rob him before making her getaway =P

I just noticed that Bill remembered “Stan” and had a image of him from the past but when Gideon mentions bill, Stan doesn’t know who Bill is. It’s cool rewatching this show thru your videos cuz I’m catching more stuff that I missed the first time around

Bill HAS to be my fav character! Even though Gravity Falls is a show targeted to kids they still make him seem spooky and like a total mystery. It would be super cool to see how he would act if this wasn't a "kids" show. Also loved the vid🤗

This whole show is SO good, but this is definitely the turning point. There are maybe 2 filler episodes in the next season and the rest is ALL PLOT. Not only that, the lore only gets jucier from here. Personally, at the end of next week's episode I would LOVE to hear Kenny and Montana predict what threads will get pulled and how everything converges. You guys are in for a ride and I'm so happy I can experience the show for the first time again with you!

Scooby-Doo: Mystery Inc
i don't think there would be a better way for montana to get into this franchise than watching that series
the plot is easily an 8/10
the characters are mostly interesting and likable
and it has the same ominous and mysterious vibe as GF , except the tone is much darker, and the mystery, in my opinion
is more engaging and well-developed
i know shows like Steven Universe and Adventure Time have more applicants , but it would be great if you guys would put it on the watch list 💚
That circle with Bill inside is called the zodiac and it has enough power to get rid of bill until someone summons him also the things Gideon said at the end is backwards and reversed it is Backwards message three times at the end

Fun fact, it was just announced that Bill is getting his own book! The Book of Bill, which apparently Bill wrote himself, lol. Can’t wait to see what kind of unhinged stuff they came up with for it. One of my favorite villains of all time.

0:40 ,, A dreamscape is the term used for someones "dream space",, for example, if you were to "create" a dream scape for yourself, you'd be able to control what happens in your dreams, almost like lucid dreaming, but without being lucid,, its actually pretty fun to do if you get good enough at it,, as it allows you to pretty much write a second reality in your head, ofcourse it can be really hard to get going and it can be pretty unstable, but the reason this ones called "Dreamscaperers" is because bill cipher is making a dreamscape of the dreamscape in other peoples heads,, hence "erer"

Bill is highly cited as one of, if not, the best animated villain, let alone Disney animated villains, and the more you get to know him,… well, first you’ll regret knowing his power and THEN understand why!

so, up to this point, we've had bits and pieces of lore and plot. this is the first true appearance of Bill. There is SO MUCH in this episode it's nearly impossible to see everything in the first go through. multiple ciphers, multiple background hints and tricks, I love how cryptic they were in this series hiding lore in plain sight. this and the final episode of season 1 are huge setups for season 2 and it just gets crazier from here. It feels like a huge gear shift and does a really great job showing the group as a team to reckon with. I also hate the soos slamming the door with the soda machine, though we don't know if it was actually soos or bill.
There are multiple cryptograms here as well as reference to them when they show the books in the episode (ATBASH, A1Z26, CAESAR):
Stan's mindspace version of the Mystery Shack has "PBVWHUB VKDFN" over the main entrance, which is a caesar cipher for "MYSTERY SHACK."
In front of Stan's mindscape version on the Mystery Shack is a Pitt Cola machine that has "SLWW" written on it, which is a Caesar cipher for "PITT."
The top of the dreamscape Shack has a broken off sign that says "OAUVG." Once decoded it reads "MYSTE." However, instead of the usual three letters used in most of the show's caesar cipher, it is decoded using only two letters back.
In one shot of the hallways in the mindscape Mystery Shack in the production art, "EWTUG AQW OCTKNAP" is carved into a wall. Decoding it using two letters back translates to "CURSE YOU MARILYN." However, in the actual episode, this message is edited out.
During the end credits of this episode, there is a cryptogram that reads "20-15 2-5 3-15-14-20-9-14-21-5-4..." Once decoded, it reads "TO BE CONTINUED..."
In addition behind "Bill Cipher" in the book there are yellow symbols that translate to: "LIAR MONSTER SNAPPY DRESSER."
note: the cryptograms at the end of the episodes from here on start being bill talking to the audience a lot.
