I love the ring around the tail cap. I run a length of shock cord through it and tie it in a loop and when do you want to go hands-free with the light you can simply run the shock loop across your hand, and over the opposite end.

I have several Surefire flashlights: P1R Peacekeeper, Outdoorsmans, P2x Fury, Titan Plus, EDCL1, 6px tactical. After buying these, I bought a Fenix LD22 to actually have a light that is practically usable around the house.

I think the head diameter is to big. It also would be better if it would run on RCR123/16340ies. The new EDC1-DFT can run on them but the head is even bigger.

Hey man good video! Not sure if I missed the correction, but I don’t thinks that’s 1 hour and 45 minutes runtime. Believe it should be one hour in 500lm and 45 hours in 5lm. Thanks again for the video!

I love Surefire. I have a small collection of their lights and an earlier model of the EDCL-1T you reviewed. Is the company you mentioned Australian?

Lost mine. I might have to buy another... it isnt the brightest or smallest or most mode rich but that gas peddle tailcap is brilliant.

I have the G2X pro with 600 l . I think they have the same led. It has some tint but its almost more yellow with slight green. But on camera it looks worse than in real.

Surefire can do better. I've owned several of their lights, and loved the KL1 back when they were groundbreaking for implementing the first generation of Luxeon LEDs into conversion units. Nowadays, they're overpriced and usurped in every way by other manufacturers... As for this EDCL1, I would rather just carry the D4V2 and save myself $100. Surefire seems to want to extend the CR123As out, and it's now pointless. And if size was an issue, you're better off buying the Imalent LD70, which utterly destroys this light in every way imaginable. Sorry for sounding like a Debbie Downer, but I've been waiting for Surefire to catch up to companies like Imalent, Fenix, Olight, Weltool and Acebeam, and they have consistently disappointed. It's like looking at a bygone era.

I wish they were as innovative as they were 10-20 years ago. I bought their 10X Dominator and M6 lights, and back then, they were the trailblazers for handheld lights. I was hoping that type of innovation would be brought to their LED lineup. But their current UDR Dominator is just outright embarrassing.... Anywho, keep the reviews coming! Love what you're posting!

I had an E2 Exec years back it was a solid bit of kit. But a D4v2? Too faffy and not the most robust. I don't think they have any drop rating. I had a D4s from Hank but sold it sharpish. But each to their own, our needs and likes are different. 🙏
