In the Master System version's defense, in Japanese, Gozer's name is pronounced Goza, so unless you know the English spelling, you have no way to know where the R is supposed to be. Of course, that's only an excuse. You'd still expect them to know the English spelling!
On the SMS version on the stairs section you can actually shoot straight, your pressing the wrong button. Lol. Also you are having problems catching the ghosts because your guys need to be facing each other, not the same direction as in your video. Great video though, brings back the memory's.
Gorza ? gotta love the people who made the game without knowing anything about the movie or character names. So grateful for the 2009 Ghostbusters Videogame.
I had the Master System version as a child, and found it to be alright. You can fire straight ahead on the stair stage. You just have to hit the only other button on the control pad and "pew pew" there you go. I'm surprised he didn't figure that out. I mean, there are two buttons. Wouldn't you hit the other button just to see what it does?
Wait what you can shoot them on the stairs? It seems like James missed out on alot of mechanics in the earlier videos. Just like top gun telling you what altitude and speed you have to be to land
"Ghostsbusters on nintendo sucks Asssss"... Straight to the point... No merry go round boomm yaaa, hahaha... Cheers James! Im hooked to your videos hahaha, thanx. Greetings from México city!
i played the PS3 version of these games and let me tell you its AWESOME they used the original cast and they added a new character for you to play as a rookie or cadet whatever you want to call him
Another grammatical error (committed twice) is the space between the exclamation marks and the final words in each sentence. No, I have no idea why I felt the need to point this out either.
Weird, my commodore one had the little forklift and stuff very much like the Sega version, did they update it a re-release it? Cuz I swear mine looked alot closer to the Sega version.
I wonder how long is it until James found out that the sound of L and R are pretty much interchangeable in Japanese and that's probably what happened with every time there was a problem with these two letters.
siIvermate all sega master system games looked better than nes games because the sms had a better color palette and i think it could handle slowdown better
We had the game on 5.25" floppy. It was similar to the NES version. Except I think all you did to win was walk past Stay Puft by timing it right. My memory of the game is vague, but it is sad to see that no decent 8 bit Ghostbusters game existed.
Every time I see the scoring of the test I imagine Im one of the developers watching it, but not understanding english and seeing the numbers drop Id be laughing my ass off.
I would rank the Ghostbusters games in order of which one is superior whether it's Atari, NES, or the Sega Master System. 1. Ghostbusters on the Sega Master System (superior) 2. Ghostbusters on the Atari 2600 (appropriate for its time) 3. Ghostbusters on the NES (inferior)
In the Sega Master System version, you can totally shoot straight when you are climbing the stairs.. I don't know what was wrong with your controller when you did this review.. maybe the earlier releases had this glitch..also, have u learned to use the ghost bait properly? You should never let Stay Puft destroy ANY buildings!
Other mistakes seems quite typical too. I guess, the whole problem can be, that they just handed out task to some small Japanese game developing studio, who haven't watched the movie at all and told them they have like a month to make something ressembling a game for a western market.
damn. that part where he sings "Ghost busters" in the nes voice just cracks me up all the time
More like C64 tho
"It's dull, depressing & lifeless"
(Whisper) Perfectly compliments the game
I was going to keep watching but I forgot I had to go and rest my heroes.

Actually, you can start a sentence with "and" as long as it coordinates two independent clauses.
with out "and" at the beginning
You only use "and" to connect them, not to start the sentence.
Ok smarty pants

Well at least they spelled heroes correctly. I can't say how many times I've seen it as heros.

Ghostbusters on NES was the first game in my collection... I played it then traded it in for the legend of Zelda
I had the master system version. You can shoot horizontally by pressing 2 and diagonally by pressing 1.
"It's dull, depressing & lifeless" wow my perfect game
Mike was singing Ghostbusters on the Sega game
6:20 Is one of my favorite moments from the show.
NICE!!! I have been waiting for a follow up!! Great Video James!!!!
"You have completed a great game? Well, that's just simply wrong, twenty points for that statement."
I want the fuckin' Nerd as my teacher.

How ironic that "You have completed a great game" is the only complete sentence in that message

I think the reason Winston isn't in most games is because he wasn't originally a part of the Ghostbusters, and just joined for the paycheck
Ghostbusters for SMS actually looks like a pretty fun game.
Probably has better graphics than NES Ghost Busters version
siIvermate all sega master system games looked better than nes games because the sms had a better color palette and i think it could handle slowdown better
i loved the first ghostbusters game on the c64.. great game...

The ghostbusters pushing the car look like Oompa Loompas

I had it on MSX, and the points you pooped was the distance you will have to make it till the ghost !
thank you james
Our culture HAS justice
Strange, the only AVGN video where I can't get the sound to work.
4:21
Maybe it's because of the technical limitations on the NES at the time.
lmao AVGN is freakin awesome!
did you ever do the video for ghostbusters 2 and the sega ghostbusters? ive never seen it and I cant find it either.
He did! It was the next episode!
@@trevorblue4531 fantastic! i m gonna watch it now if i havent already xD
I never knew about the one on the Master system. It does look better though.

The man and woman are the key master and gate keeper.
You can aim the proton beams on the stair in the Sega version fyi..
Pop quiz muthafuckas
2:11 What is that explosion sound from?

When James says "ass" >>>
Ghostbusters The Video Game (360/PS3) for James and Mike Monday!
I wonder can you do a comparison of the new game vs the old game
Why bother? They play like two completely different games! You'd might as well compare Super Mario Bros. to Super Mario 64.
Yay an episode
James my nerdy... ally, we'll go with that... Winston was introduced in the second movie if i'm not mistaken
Should have taken points away for the spaces before the exclamation marks. Are they French?
And no period on the end
Turn the video off @ 0:04 seconds.. Nothing else needs to be said
If I had to play this game I actually would play it I really love ghostbusters
pilots colecowins
1:55 Why does Fuckballs have two asterisks between the F and C? Shouldn't there be just one?
Chozo Hunter Frickballs
About the spelling mistakes: is it possible that this was written by Japanese people? Don't they mix up the Rs and Ls?
Other mistakes seems quite typical too. I guess, the whole problem can be, that they just handed out task to some small Japanese game developing studio, who haven't watched the movie at all and told them they have like a month to make something ressembling a game for a western market.
Yeah. Sounds about right.
nice
sentences can begin with "and". just because everyone's 7th grade English teacher said so doesn't make it right!
Ghostbusters ... are now T.A.P.S. ???
Got Engrish??
Gorza the Gorzarian. Kappa
how the fuck did they get away with selling shit like this seriously.
gam
Ghosts.... I dont like them. Its nothing personal... just a cultural thing
This was a pretty crappy game, but it was better (somewhat) on the C64.
Ugh.. ScrewAttack.
activision is the worst softhouse for all times. Look at diablo 3 what they did....
