Out of all Tarantino films I think this is one of his best movies. Pam Grier bought it with this performance. She should’ve been nominated for Oscar.

The 90s was all about actors from 70/80s having resurgence. Pam Grier should’ve had a mountain of script offers after Jackie Brown.

You mentioned that the judge looked at Jackie in a strange way, it's a really deep personal look between Pam Grier and Sid Haig. It's almost a personal look at their careers, they starred in 5 films together in the 70's, blaxkploitation and WIP films generally directed by Jack Hill (Coffy, Foxy Brown, Big Doll House etc) and Pam Grier often cited Sid Haig as one of her mentors acting, hence the reason Haig was cast in a cameo as the judge as Tarantino is a huge fan of those films making this their 6th film acting together.

Tarantino is so good at picking music in his movies… every reactor I’ve seen react to this movie always says some form of “aw he’s in love” instantly when ever Max first sees Jackie Brown all because of the music playing
Pam Grier is GORGEOUS, and while you arent a clone of her, you do really favor her a lot.
Her and Minnie Ripperton are the two prettiest celebrities of all time IMO.

Jackie Brown is a great and classic movie. With an amazing cast Samuel L Jackson, Pam Grief, Chris Tucker, Robert De Niro, Michael Keaton and the lates Tommy Tiny Lester Jr and Robert Forster. My favorite moments of the film is when Samuel L Jackson character Ordell tries to kill Pam Grier Jackie in her home as the lights went off and she had the gun pressed against his privates and the other when Max came to deliver the money to Ordell and he knocked on the doir really loud and Ordell response what the hell wring with you knocking on the door like the goddamn police. You wanna die. Max" I thought you might be asleep Ordell: You keep f**kin with me, you're gonna be asleep forever 😂🤣 As well like the songs from the Delfonics Let Me Blow Your Mind and Bobby Womack and Peace Across 110th Street. But anyway I hope you two have a wonderful day. Stay safe, take care and stay amazing

Pam Grier appears, she is standing there, led by a conveyor belt, but her inner fire shakes and burns the screen, and what Bobby Womack sings, in his own way, is telling us about the past of the character and also the actress ("Doing whatever I had to do to survive, I'm not saying what I did was alright, tryna break out of the ghetto was a day to day fight") and figures out future events ("Hey brother, there's a better way out, snorting that coke, shooting that dope, man, you're copping out! Take my advice, it's either live or die, you've got to be strong if you wanna survive...").
We literally "cross 110th Street" of the heart and soul of Pam Grier/Jackie Brown.
We are inside of it, because this is her story and no one else's.

Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez both directed “From Dusk Till Dawn”. Definitely worth a watch if yall haven’t seen it. Don’t look up previews it’ll probably spoil it.

Elmore Leonard was a legend. Other Leonard books or screenplays Get Shorty, Out Of Sight, 3:10 to Yuma. The Detroit based author famous for his characters and dialogue
FYI: “Jackie Brown,” “Out of Sight” and the TV series “Justified” all take place in the same universe. All three have overlapping characters played by the same actors.
No they don't. An officer in City Primeval is the same character played by the same actor as one in Out of Sight, and Out of Sight has a brief cameo from Michael Keaton as the FBI agent in Jackie Brown. The reason for these cameos if because all three properties are based on Leonard Elmore novels. They are just easter eggs.
This movie was a nod to the Blacxplotation movies of the 70's and this was an all star cast Samuel Jackson, Pam Greer, Robert Dinero, Foster wasn't a big name but a lot of roles

Four Rooms is a 4-part anthology in which Tarantino directs one of the segments, (the other directors involved are Robert Rodriguez, Allison Anders, Alexandre Rockwell, & Chuck Jones.) Tim Roth, (man who holds-up the diner in Pulp Fiction,) stars as a “bell boy” for a hotel. The film was made in-between Jackie Brown & Pulp Fiction. I recommend checking it out to the completist.

Pam Grier is the Queen! I loved her performance in this. A Tarantino movie y’all may not have seen is True Romance. While it was written by Quentin, it was directed by Tony Scott. The director of Top Gun and many others. But my favorite of his will always be True Romance.

Special guest "Absolutely No IG Whatsoever Tracie" is a great addition to this channel. Being that she's someone who has seen more films, she's spot on with the actor names/references. Its like us film buffs are there to provide some info, thru her. She represents us.
Only thing I'll say is that I do wish the discussion at the end was a little longer. Maybe mention stand-out characters, favorite moments, ways in which the film surprised you. Serve us up some more Tee.
That being said, I always enjoy watching you react to my favorite films, Jackie Brown is high up on that list. A classic a lot of people sleep on. To be fair, Pulp Fiction had several stories going on at once while this was more like if you focused on just one of those throughout. Anyway, I hope to see more of your sister Tracie in the future(again she makes it feel like us who've seen it all are there with you. Not to mention that Jessica Rabbit hair over one eye look is just: chef's kiss). If she joins you for more Tarantino films that'd be perfect.
PS. You do have a Pam Grier kind of look overall, the almond eyes, elegant high cheek bones, and eventually the nose. Classic beauty that had Max Cherry head over heals from the jump.

Peloton 😆😆😆 As an oldies music lover and a fan of The Delfonics, Id really appreciate Tarantino showing some love for one of the greatest soul groups of the late 60s. And I couldnt agree more with Tracie, Tee if you like Michael Keaton you should watch the regular Batman (1989) Jack Nicolson portrays a great Joker.
