    Yes indeed, Bridget is the daughter of Peter Fonda who was the son of Henry Fonda. Her auntie is Jane Fonda. The whole family were great actors. Jackie Brown is my favourite Tarantino film, without a doubt and is so rewatchable!

      "Out of Sight"- - another one of those movies you can re-watch every few years (or perhaps more) and still enjoy the heck out of it (as well as, for me anyway, George Clooney's "Michael Clayton") 😊

    Tarantino's overlooked masterpiece! I love it so much! Pam Grier was a force!

  • @BigGator5

    "I'll bet, besides maybe an afro, you look exactly how you did at 29."
    "Well, my ass ain't the same."
    "Bigger?"
    "Yeah."
    "Ain't nothin' wrong with that!"
    Fun Fact: Pam Grier didn't expect her longtime friend Sid Haig to play the judge. She burst out laughing, as she was surprised by Haig, since they had starred together in several exploitation films, by which this film's style was influenced.
    Didn't Ask Fact: Quentin Tarantino met Robert Forster in a restaurant and handed him the script, saying basically he was going to do this. Forster was naturally thrilled, having had a major career slump. This film saw him come back in a big way, even landing an Oscar nomination.
    The Legend Fact: Pam Grier had screentested for the part in Pulp Fiction (1994) that eventually went to Rosanna Arquette. Quentin Tarantino didn't forget her, however, crafting the part of Jackie Brown specifically for her. Quentin Tarantino was already a huge fan of Pam Grier from her Blaxploitation films and had several posters hung up when she auditioned for this movie.

    This movie is the Tarantino film that probably "jumps out" the least among his work the first time you watch it. But the funny thing is, if you revisit this movie over the years, I feel like it's one of the better ones to go back to over and over again. For a lot of the same reasons why it didn't "jump out" as much, which is because it's the most "chill" movie. It's a movie that you can put on and just chill with. Chill with the characters, chill with their stories, their lives, their motivations, etc. A lot of the other Tarantino films, they're great films, don't get me wrong, but they're often so in your face that I have to be in a certain mood to go back to them. Whereas with Jackie Brown, I can always just put it on and just sink back into the movie at any time.

    Film makers added smoking to movies way back when - from the start (1920’s, etc.) - because it gave the actors something to do with their hands in a scene.

    Why is this movie so overlooked? QT took a character from a decade that we will say was eccentric and showed how she ended up. Then gave her a little redemption angle but flavored it up with a Pulp Fictionesque dialogue and setting. Only issue is Keaton is not utilized very well here.

    Another fun thing. When they’re in the house watching the movie, guy slapping the girl, the movie is called, Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry. And it stars - guy doing the slapping - Peter Fonda; Bridget Fonda’s (Melanie) father.

    • @jannathompson2262
      @jannathompson2262 7 месяцев назад +1

      That was actually Helmut Berger not Peter Fonda slapping her in that scene. There was a scene from Dirty Mary Crazy Larry when Bridget Fonda was watching on the couch but right before Samuel L. Jackson when to leave he asked is that Rutger Hauer and she said "No, Helmut Berger" which was weird because he wasn't in Dirty Mary Crazy Larry. I think she was either watching 2 different movies or Tarantino spliced 2 different movies together in that scene...🤷‍♀️ So, apparently the slapping scene was from a movie called Beast with a Gun starring Helmut Berger:)

      @@foilhattiest1 yeah, I know. every reaction channel does that. it's the cutting in and out of sentences that is just jarring to watch. there's ways to do it that are less annoying I guess. I mean to each there own. I know the copyright stuff on youtube is absolutely horrible and it has killed a lot of channels. so you do whatever works and if this is the way that works, you do it. It's just that I can't enjoy it like that and I've seen lots of movie reactions that I did enjoy. it's not easy cutting a movie in a way that is still enjoyable AND circumvents youtube's algorith, I get that. it's just... this isn't it. at least not for me.
