bro my vizio just went off after insetting a flash disk and it shows no signs of turning on
Mine can turn on and I can hearing everything I just can’t see I did all the steps and everything didn’t work I look at my tv closely and used a flashlight I can see a little bit but how do I fix it I can’t get a new tv because where I live we ain’t doin to good on money
My vizio TV stopped working. It just shows power on led blinking and then black screen. I replaced the control board and it worked for a day. Next day same symptom. Black screen. Power on led blinks at the start and then nothing. Finally found the issue. The power switch in the back presses a tiny metal piece which was weak and was permanently stuck in the pressed position. I used a pin to make it un-stuck and Voila !! Tv now works. Swapped back the original control board and that too works. So all along it was a stuck power switch ! Hope this helps someone.

I had what I thought was a backlight issue (very dark and flickered in the right quadrant) but since I was desperate, I tried a factory reset (after a power reboot failed) and it WORKED!
(Yeah, it was a pain in the ass reentering all that info but WORTH EVERY SECOND!!)
Vizo smart cast has been a pain for me since day one. I should've got a Samsung TV. 🤬
Samsung performs better for sure. I have both now. But you can't add any apps to the Samsung smart TV that they didn't make a deal with, like no dis+. That's ridiculous.

I have both and enjoy the Vizio UI way more than the Samsung. Plus i can stream anything to the Vizio but am restricted to what was already on the Samsung so no Crunchyroll

Ohnow they've updated and put Antenna TV into watchfree app, so now it takes me like 30 seconds to have tv and its hit or miss, mo more vizio bs

The hard restart worked for me . Had some bad lightning a few days ago . I think that’s why the screen went out in the first place. Too much energy

so when i do the hard reset plenty of different outlets too all it does is the vizio sign lights up i turn it on and it just turns itself off again

#3 worked for me! I didn't have extra batteries at hand so I moved directly to #2 and waited the required time. It didnt work and I became worried when I couldn't find any buttons, only one cord and plug. I had to remove from stand and lay it down to find the single on/off button on the lower rear that my hand had previously glanced over. THANK GOODNESS! I am another who wasnt excited about the prospect of having to purchase another unit with this one being in service 5 months. Thank you Juan!!!

These are firmware issues Vizio isn't addressing. Updates SHOULD fix the issue but 🤷🏽♂️
It's the Garbage Capacitors they use in the Power Supply.

I had a black screen with a blinking power light. I fixed mine buy unplugging the device in the USB port. Try unplugging everything from the back. It worked for me.

Wait what if this happens shows the logo then goes to a black screen ?
That's the problem I have. I have been tricking back on by waiting for the input selector the immediately pressing the input selector on the remote. It's getting more finicky.

I have a black screen and sound. But the V shows up on start up as wel as the cable channel info/guide and Vizio menu options. What would be the problem then?

My vizio was 7 years old and went black screen last night. Never has a oroblem before. Vizio good my bro has had then 10 years and he never had a problem. One minute unplug wirked
None of that worked for me. Found out that the outlet was a major issue in my bedroom. Switched to a power strip. Worked fine now.

My problem exactly. I will not buy another Vizio.
That means that the backlighting in your tv has blown out... common issue with tvs, and it will depend on if it is LED or LCD to determine how much it will cost to fix... or just buy another... they are not hard to fix... just finding the right replacment part and the time to take the tv apart and fix

I just bought my tv from circuit city about s week ago. And now it’s black screen. I tried all the methods and nothing worked... I don’t have money to just buy tvs
Welp, so far first try on the unplug and also trying the hard reset has not worked. So my mom's Vizio might be dead. I can see the picture a little bit, looking up at it from a low angle, but it's pretty much black, and now the sound doesn't work either... And it's only a little over a year old.
We will try it again in a few days or week and see if anything changes...

I just shook my tv one good time and it worked, granted after several shakes and like several hours. My flat screen is on a swivel stand, and I just kept turning the swivel back and forth - back and forth; then I shook it one good time and it worked, at least for now. I didn’t have to pull it apart. Turn it off and on a bunch of times. This happens a lot with my tv and all it takes is a good shaking and it works again. So, if that is the case, is it really the LED board, maybe it’s faulty, but it isn’t completely shot!
This is the most amazing solution ever. Also, this is a good way to quiet an infant that is being unruly. WAAAH WAAAH! ...several shakes and several hours later ..... *serenity*....

Ok so mine was on and show was playing but all of the sudden the screen turned off my remote has never worked for the tv so I use my phone and my phone was off sooooo idk wtf to do
I hear sound, but my screen is black. I put a flashlight up to the screen about 3-4 inches away and was able to see the background.
On my Vizio remote: I hit the menu button-system -reset & admin-reset to factory default.
I changed to different outlets.
I held the power button down for 60 seconds.
I did all of this and to no avail…it is still a black screen.
My LCD Mother Board May need to be replace, but I’m no good with electrical stuff.
New TV it is for me 🤦🏽♀️ 📺.

I garbaged my 2 Vizio tvs they are no good at all always problems with them. I just updated both my Vizio tvs and they got the black screen of death. Tried to get help from Vizio but they where no good at helping and told me I have to buy new tvs. I will be buying new tvs and they won't be Vizio or any Vizio products.

I have power, I can hear the voice say "power on" or Power off" but my screen stays completely black. The tv is 6 years old 43" vizion. For texting it is NOT connected to a cable source. Just trying to get over the air before getting a new tv.

I told my mom not to buy me a visio… she thought I was just being picky….. we’ve had a Visio tv in the basement for years and it’s always had problems….. so I knew Visio was a bad brand… but I still ended up with a Visio and a year later here I am with problems with it already

My 50" 4k Vizio TV is less than 3 months old and none of this worked, how can a screen burn out in less than 3 months?? .I will NEVER buy this brand again..What's even crazier is that before this I only ever had off brand more inexpensive TVs and my last one still works and is over 6 years old..

Vizio tv just suck. Sometimes the screen is black , sometimes None of the features ever load , sometimes to switch inputs is nonexistent. Not sure why this tv is like this.
