    My Vizio M65-C1 has a similar problem. For a few months now 1/2 of the screen would glitch out and freeze the tv. It would eventually start working again. The other day it did the same thing, but this time the screen died. It still has audio though. It also does the power light fade things. I think it is also power cycling. Any idea what this might be?

      @@nibz7255 You'll need to make sure you're cleaning underneath the BGA chips after done reflowing. What is probably happening is that the BGA chips are getting 70-80 Celsius during use and are cracking the solder balls underneath them. Make sure you use something like FluxOff spray. I am unable to do a factory reset because the other physical buttons do not work and it won’t work initiating from the app. I am however able to adjust picture settings from the app. Quick google and this seems to be a common problem but I can’t find and guidance on what needs to be repaired. Pretty sure this may be issue with my sons 43" Vizio. Only difference is with his if I unplug it and hard drain the caps when i turn it back on the screen will work for a few seconds and look perfect. But once a few seconds go by and it heats up the screen goes dark. Its not completely black but you can barely see anything at all. Would this be the same issue? @@maryawkward168 Ms Mary, I didn't do any real troubleshooting on that TV. I actually got rid of it! It was a dumpster find to begin with! It could be the power supply board, one of the T-conn boards (a board for synchronizing both sides of the screen), or the LCD screen itself. If it's the screen, you might as well get a new TV. A new replacement screen isn't cheap! It's the most expensive part! As a kind of hobby I look for electronics in dumpsters and curbside stuff - PCs laptops Chromebooks gaming systems tablets... To clarify if your TV stuck in the Test Color Pattern screen? As in, it only shows Blue, Green etc.? Or is have the screen blue and the other half is green? If the TV is stuck in the pattern screen then a new mainboard would fix the issue. If the TV shows random colors (not in a pattern) then it's more than likely a panel issue.

    Question...... Why are you not using the Flux before reflowing /heating up the CPU? I was thinking :.... The Flux takes away some oxidation and it flows by itself nicely under the Cpu while heating /reflowing. Due the heating ... The Flux will find its way under the CPU.
    Whats the use of spraying Flux when my CPU does not get very hot anymore,... cause I also did mount a bigger heatsink with Fan on top, to keep the temperature as low as possible when switching my TV on..... 😉 👍
    I did a reflow without using Flux and my TV is working well at the moment. Should I still spray some Flux before I close the back cover??? (is Flux also protecting the Cpu and preventing against oxidation, nomather if the TV is on or of??)) ✌️

    After I replaced the main board it finally turned on but now I have lines covering the entire screen which never happened before. Any ideas?

      bad replacement?

      @IDeviceRepairOrlando  Год назад +1

      Yes, I agree. It could be a bad replacement. There's also a possibility that the LCD flex cables aren't installed properly. I'd try removing the cables and installing them again.

    About how much would such a repair cost?

    The problem was just cold solder?

    • @IDeviceRepairOrlando
      @IDeviceRepairOrlando  Год назад

      Problem is from heating and cooling and over time there are mico-cracks in the solder. The heatsinks were poorly engineered.

      It's considered a "reflow" the technology it uses is IR heat, not hot air.

    TOSS IT!! Vizio are CRAP!! My 70 inch had started dying right around the time of the Game of Thrones night battle, so it was god awful. It lasted, but with a splotchy lit screen, til this past Black Friday, when it went completely dark(Timing, right?). Well, when the freight guys showed up with my new Samsung QLED(It was a tossup between Samsung or another Sony Bravia, which I have in bedroom and is still amazing), I asked em if they wanted the old Vizio, which can be somewhat fixed(According to these videos) and the guys immediately asked me if it was a Vizio. I told him that it was and he laughed. He said he spent almost a year exchanging peoples' Vizios and they were legit garbage. It's not worth the time, energy and $$ to repair them, that's for sure. I cannot believe there hasn't been a recall or a class action lawsuit against them yet, tbh.

      Your TV could have other issues or the board you received is defective.

    Isn't it just better/cheaper to just buy a new board and install it?

      These boards are in high demand and very very short in supply.

    These companies still continue to have these chips soldered to the board directly. They always fail . Xbox ,ps4 u name it they all need resolder

    • @IDeviceRepairOrlando
      @IDeviceRepairOrlando  Год назад

      Yes, I agree. I also think they did a poor job washing the boards after they set the BGAs. So there's remnants of flux that cause these issues to develop over time.

    Yes, my name is Larry Spencer, and I work criminal investigations into fraud and misuse for the USPS Postal Inspection Team, and we'd like to know a little bit more about your makeshift heat barrier, or cardboard tent that seems to be made entirely out of priority mail flat rate shipping boxes. Misuse of just one of those boxes carries up to a 5 year sentence. It looks like you've got several dozen of them under siege. This video evidence, coupled with your flagrant misuse of the word "action" (.I.E...it's time for some heat gun action), has really caught our attention. Just Kidding, I'm not Larry an investigator, but I did get you pretty good!!!!
