Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

My general rule is that if you think all of your equipment is in perfect working order, you just haven’t tried to use it yet. :)
If you didn't run into issues you haven't been to the limit or haven't been on full send yet, as I like to call it. 😁

If only you had some WD-40 Specialist Electrical Contact Cleaner Spray in your tractor! Cleaning those connectors would’ve been a breeze!
I hope their paying you for advertisement! 🤣
Ahh. You’ve been paying attention
Well, whenyou send a boy to do a man's job, it all makes sense! Just put Jim In the planter, Get R done Jim!....
Just what I was thinking
And a tube of dielectric grease!
“Did you try turning it off and turning it back on?”
That's what she said.
Otherwise known as a reboot :-)!
I did!! 🤣
Chase you must be an IT?
It's called a Norwegian reset here in Sweden 🤭
I'm 39 second into the video and the camera is million times better than before.
Zach: "I'm pretty tired, I think I'll go home now"
Me: " I understood that reference"
Gump
"It happens"
"What does?"
"You know, shit, it happens"
“Have a nice day.”
You know what my momma used to say... Planting is like a box of choclates. Your planter is always broken.
Well he did a half decent impression of Forrest Gump saying it, so it was guessable even if you didn't know the reference for sure. Zach is always so funny with his dead pan delivery.
Things like this make me glad we run 30+ year old equipment, nothing wrong with a 7000 planter with markers and a 4450 tractor
How about a 7721 pto powered, towed combine, a 444 head, with a 4440? That’s how I started. Fill two wagons, hop on that tractor, go put it up. The drier was leaving it in the field long enough, back to the field, hop in the 4440 and start the process over again. Seed? Hell, I planted bin corn one year and it worked! Open pollinated, did that a few years. My pigs and chickens loved it! 10% protein!
Once you get this new stuff figured out, its way faster than the old school, considerably more efficient which leads to better more accurate planting which results in better yields. Old school still works, just not as good.
@@mikeznel6048 and as you can see at the welkers this spring: Old stuff breakes down more often because of mechanical failures
@@mikeznel6048 it truly is amazing. But the nostalgia of old school is fun to talk about.
You need a 7300 with air bags and XP openers. And eSet plates. I guess you have auto steer?
My family just asked me What?!" Our new kitten woke up and gave me an annoyed look. Why? Because I just growled Thunderrrr!
Did you check the hitch hight? Row 4 will give you the best yield!😜
As a software developer in the ag field, all I can say is sorry from all of us...well those us that actually care about the products we build anyway. This video was really eye-opening and should be required watching for anyone building software like this.
Yes it should
As a programmer of 26 years I'm glad I don't have software that runs on equipment like this. So many variables. And when it's needs to work it needs to work now. Not saying I don't feel good software just saying I don't think I could deal with it LOL
I liked the part where the really handsome guy was farming.
He seems to have a funny side, maybe he should spend more time on Tiktok! and don't read the comments on his vids in tiktok
That's what my wife said..
Greetings from Southern Africa.. Loving your channel.. Waiting for Welker Farms to come visit as promised,
It's good to see your Father getting around without a cane. When are we going to get an update on his lawn?
God bless your dad
You are much more patient with technology than I am. Either that or Becky had to do a TON of editing. Great video!
I’m just glad the boat made it through another winter.
I give farmers so much credit for their patience with the seemingly unending barrage of problems they encounter. If it's not electronic, it's mechanical, on top of that you have tight windows of weather you try to work in and then you have another malfunction. As much as I'd love to work on a farm again, I think I'd blow more head gaskets than a powerstroke.
Whatever that camera is don’t quit using it!!! Thanks for the vid! Jealous of all you get to do...
Another farmer on RUclips was answering questions from his subscribers live when he was asked if he was redundant in the planter since the "robot" could do it all. Your issue with the equipment showed just how one sensor can mess up the entire planting process. So his answer was no, the human cannot be replaced since the human was the only "tool" that could fix every issue as they happened. I also point out how remote robots on Mars have to be build in the simplest way possible to not fail and Mars is not the friendly environment that the Earth is by comparison. People-built equipment has a lot of parts and therefore many possible points of failure. I'm an I/T Specialist now for 28 years and I can say Confusious was right, "Shit happens!". With Aloha from Hawaii...
Un-plug it and plug it in again. Works for my cable box. And if that doesn't work, tap it on the side a few times. That worked on our old, old tv.😎
We just put the high speed kit on our planter and my grandpas 78 and man he just loves running 10 miles an hour 😂
Watching you work with the plug in on row #4, I am reminded of the Old Nintendo cartridges. Gotta blow the dust out!
🤣🤣
I liked the Forest Gump quote “I’m pretty tired, I think I’ll go home now”.
Love the Forest Gumb ending ;) Perfect !
Love the Gump reference!
I thought I was the only one who has days like this. Feeling the pain.
Remember the good old days when you would pull one rope on the planter to start planting, and pull another rope to set the markers? Crude, but it got the job done. :)
I literally started singing "All Out of Love" right before you broke in with it...you know...great millennial minds think alike and all
Wishing you guys great yields!
Honestly thought when you were checking seed depth with your finger and you said that’s 1and 3/4 inch
I was expecting a “that’s what she said “
😝
Hi, I'm Luis from argentino, my Greetings and admiration for his work in the field and his dedication. I admire a lot with the precision and care that is whorked in the USA excellent your video, too bad I'm not very good with English 💪🤠
This video is exactly how my days feel. Start early fight some problems with the monitor. Load seed watch the sun go down. Seems like they go by as fast as your video too.
Loving all the planting videos from everybody
Much better camera than the the last few vids. The last one you had focusing issues. Plus this one has smooth framerates.
Great camera quality and video. Thanks!
Pretty Work!
Liked the Forest Gump homage at the end...
Love your videos, Zach! I’m not a farmer (I wish I was!), but your content is the perfect blend of education, entertainment, and equipment! I look forward to each new vid and OTH podcast! Keep ‘em coming!
Thank you!!
This will sound a little weird - or not ( to some ) but quite literally all software is a LONG set of instructions and it's like reading a book from cover to cover and if it loses it's place or can't find a page - then rebooting the operating system can many times get it back to the "lost page" it is looking for. I do this with all my computers - phones etc . . and it solves "bugs" MANY MANY times. Not sure if it would do anything here - but who knows. It is - however - a good tip for anyone reading this. If an annoying glitch comes up on your computer tablet or phone - many times simply rebooting the unit solves it.
the footage looks fantastic! thanks for sharing.
Good job
Hey Zack, your Dad looks like he is getting around pretty good these days.
Great job Zack good luck on the rest of the spring
Lovin your content Zach. Keep u purest work❤️
I started singing the same song. My mind has melded with the actor playing Zach.
Keep up the good work I love the videos
I love that you start every video with the dogs playing. Makes me smile every time. Keep up the great vids!
Love the sound of that tractor!
Keep up the good work
Super sprzęt 😁
Thunder never gets old. Makes me smile each time!
Very interesting thanks Great combination of equipment Great video
Where I live we have a word for this: bøvl. It doesn't really translate well into English, but it's kinda like struggle, trouble, hassle
I am your biggest fan i love your videos stay safe and keep the videos coming
Your camera is great now. Thanks. Good job!
Love the ground level exterior action shots..... it really shows what these incredible machines are doing at such a fast and precise pace.
Cool 😎
Cool new video !!!
It’s Always rad to hear the drinkin’ bros intro out in the wild 🤘🏻hope to hear you on the podcast again !
Loving the sunset shots thank you
The Down Force Discombobulator wasn't connected properly to the Thingamajig through the Whatchamacallit. That causes a poor connection between the Doohickeys resulting in improper force on the closing wheels. Never fails.
Don’t forget to hook the wibble rod back up to the doohickey
Sometimes the goddamnit interferes with the sonofabitch....gotta watch for that
Heck yeah
I do love that these videos are long, I cant help but to feel as if there can be so much more content. I hope you stream on twitch one day and like every video great job with the work you do and the whoever edits the video!:)
Great video really enjoy the amount of information you put into the video. And the new camera is doing a excellent job. Top job 👍👍
Yesss!! Thunderrr is back!😂
Omg will those 2 pups get a room
Can't wait for planting season!

Apparently my view on the solution is to venture into trading cryptocurrency

True investing in crypto should be in every wise individuals list, in some months time you'll be ecstatic with the decision you made today.
@Mack Jason
That won't bother you if you trade with a professional like Mr Fred Meyer
he's obviously the best I invested 2000USD with him and I have made a profit of 9101USD
His success stories are everywhere 😱
We have sweet corn up in Ohio!

Who else just loves him say good morning Jim
I like seeing his dogs lol there nice
You might not see my text, but I saw you holding you cell phone up to your ear with your shoulder, but about six years ago I bought a headset the lays around your neck and ear piece goes in either both ears or just one. They are 20-30 dollars at Amazon. The brand I got is MPOW JAWS “neckband wireless earphones. I am in aviation and I am on the phone to clear logbook items that are deferred and I have to clear them out after that issue is fixed with maintenance control. They are the bomb. Keeps your hands free to work will talking on the phone. Just passing along great info. The model number is BH025C. Enjoy.
Good one Forest!!
Can't believe you didn't have Jim say "Thunderrrr" when you guys were hooking up to the truck or your dad while refueling.
He says it only while opening the door on it
LMFAO at the Forest Gump style ending😂😂
Love the new camera! The quality is so much better!
A great review of Farm Simulator,. Complete with Service Desk interaction,
You should post like an hours video real time video with a GoPro set on the back of the planter like at 14:07
Sorry I'm late. Had to watch QDM 1st.

Drove back home today from northern MN - saw a lot of those green/yellow space ships. Good luck and keep it between the rows.
The term “wide open” has been replaced by the more expressive and accurate term “full bunny”. Please make a note of it. 😂😎
You should get everyone on your farm to say “thunderrrrrr” at least once haha. Anyone want to second that motion....? Lol
I know I've seen it all before, but still love to watch that Deere equipment putting it in!!
THUNDERRR.......
Thanks for the great content Zack and Becky. Jim and Dad too.
Best farm videos on RUclips !
