- Finally it is here: The new Business Class Suites at Air India! A revolutionary Business Class product on their ex-Delta B777-200LR that skyrockets Air India to the best B777 product that I’ve seen and experienced anywhere in Asia!
Despite this aircraft flying mostly to SFO and JFK, I had a little teaser on their busiest domestic route from Mumbai to Delhi and wow, did I like it!
It’s the best Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy Class seat out of any Asian carrier.
While the soft product, such as the catering and service still requires some improvement, the hard product is just incredible.
I can already tell how Air India will be again amongst the best in the next few years. I look forward to experience more in the near future.

Air India has had a poor reputation in the past, experience-wise. So I am extremely happy to see this airline making a comeback. Air India is an airline I can’t help but root for. India is one of the most incredible countries in the world and should be represented around the world by a flag carrier that’s as excellent as its home country is magnificent. Can’t wait to see what this airline does next!
I flew them Dubai to Delhi and the smell of the cabin was awful. It was smelling like curry and human sweat. I think the stereotype is correct honestly

Honestly the old Air India Livery is a classic! And it is just cemented in the eyes of most Indian traveller
I know, and I hope they will leave one retro plane. But change is required.

Hel nah bro I agree it was different and classic but I hated it cuz it was way behind then even small airlines design. So this is a good and huge upgrade. I always travel in Middle eastern airlines but now I'll give it a try.

Travelled by AI 687 from Mumbai to Delhi in economy a few weeks back, and I must say the experience was fantastic. From the seats to the menu to the infotainment, all boxes have been ticked. Great job Air India.

You can see..that Delta sold/gave these relative new planes so it have the Delta design,which is great to see that this plane got a second life with Air India and it don't serve as a shelter for animals in Mojave desert..😊

14.5 years old and still going strong. Yes, there are older aircraft than this _particular_ 777, but it’s so cool to see aircraft like this, different operators but they retain the previous operator’s interior.
An example is A7-BOB, which is 14 years old. Operated by Qatar now, but used to fly under Cathay Pacific. Great trip report as always, you’re practically unmatched! I’ll be definitely looking forward to future reports 💯

This business class and interior product is Deltas since they bought this plane from Delta. They just never changed them and left them the same.

The cabin is great and I guess they’ll keep until enough new planes are in the fleet to take over flights from the B777-200LR.

When Air India was built, it was among world's top luxurious airlines. Singapore airlines was inspired by Air India. It was the most premium airlines at that time. Air hostess wore colourful saree with jewellery and makeup. Just like maharaja express in air. I want to see Air India in top 5 airlines just like it used to be.

AI at it's best Alex, from our POV there's always some anomalies hanging on AI like the IFE, unkept condition of seats. But this B777LR from delta revamped AI to a certain extent, I would look forward for the US flight ( Genuinely waiting if you're planning on AI). As I live and breathe no avgeek had done such a wonderful trip report on this 777 inducted from Delta. Once again thanks my friend ❤
I like watching your videos, very good and detailed as usual. The change in Air India can be clearly seen after the TATA take over. The business class seats look really good and comfy.

Great Video! May I suggest flying to the US on AIs new A350s which will become operational in early 2024, as the interior on this plane wasn't the new AI interior but the ex-owner Delta cabin.

I was totally shocked to see the amount of movies in IFE. This was the first time in 10 years that I saw so many movies in an Indian airline 😂. Since then the screens were just used to track the flight and no IFE was there, I am impressed by TATA really.

Bro amazing trip report so far. I love how you provide those small details within your videos regarding aviation or just the airline in general, its always cool to read them. You should try out their BLR-SFO or BOM-SFO Route as these are one of the longest flights that Air India operates with these B777-200LRs and the service does vary a lot compared to what you got on a domestic flight!!
a BOM-JFK route also use these ex deltas

@@TheLayoverAviation no issues. Also Air India recently got A321 neo and are currently flying domestic within India. You can also check that out as not many people have reviewed it yet, so something you can try as well if you still in India.

As a recent domestic business class flyer between Kolkata and Delhi , I was utterly disappointed with the ageing Air bus without any facilities as compared to this aircraft .
Hopefully Air India replaces its entire ageing fleet soon .

1. Liked the gift to crew.
2. Filling premium economy would be a challenge on short-haul flights.
It’s a better seat vs a narrowbody business class and at half the price! It’s so worth it. I just think that people are not very aware yet..
And regarding the gift, I almost never travel empty handed 😊
I urge you too try BOM-JFK in this aircraft. That route is in great demand nowadays.

Hey mate, as you flew VT-AEH, you are right, it has GE90-110B's all the ex-Delta now AI 77L's have those. But what you didn't know is that the GE90-115B's are also available on Air India's own 77L's have GE90-115B's and the thing is, the GE90-110B's are exclusive to the 77L and 77F, but airlines could option the GE90-115B's. When AIC was buying their own 77L's, the Govt. of India(The owner of AIC at the time) optioned the 115B's.
