Air India's BRAND NEW Airbus A350 is now up and about, flying on domestic routes in India! Of course, I went to check out this new aircraft and put it through its paces, in business and economy class. Things didn't exactly go to plan on the day.... but Tata's reborn Air India is something to behold!

@@Paul_LucasThe nationalization ( the government taking it over ) of the airline ruined it. It was started by India's largest business group, the TATA s . The chairman then eas JRD Tata, himself a certified pilot . Now after decades it is back with it's original owners, the TATA group. This government deserves the credit for that. " The business of government is not the government of business" . Who said that? : )

If you fly AI, you’ll end up on a 787 with broken IFE or a 777 in a similar state. If you’re lucky, you’ll end up on the Delta/Etihad 777s but you need to spend too much time finding those so skip them eh.

Just make sure you don't eat from those Cheap roadside stalls even majority Indians Dont eat from there ( India Is Affordable but not cheap if you are getting something dirt cheap then keep in mind they are jot going to maintain Hygiene) . So go to Proper shops , You can go to Cart Vendors but only go to popular ones in Only popular Food spots ( Majority Of Cart vendors don't maintain Hygiene and taste all they care is Money most of them are doing this Part time so.... ).
Many Foreigners come to India and eat from Random Foodstall and Fall ill. Ask any Local Friend to take you to good spot. Also ask them to make it less spicy for you ( Its The Spicy level that also makes people fall ill not just Foreigners but also Indians who don't eat much spice )

It could be nice if Air India could Acquire A380s from Thai and Chinese Airlines and include them in their Fleet.

Air India should upgrade the aircrafts on long haul sectors like Toronto - Delhi, they are still using old aircrafts with most of the entertainment systems not working. Imagine a 14 - 15 hours flight with no entertainment. The cost of the flight tickets is at par with Air Canada but the quality & experience leave a lot desired !

Considering that the present Tata management has to grapple with huge legacy issues they have given themselves upto 2025-2026 to become a sought after world class airline. Air India's CEO Campbell Wilson is making all the right noises and humbly accepts that they are not the best now but trying hard to become Numero Uno. I wish Air India the very best for the future.

PHENOMENAL VIDEO Paul! WOW! 🤯 The New Air India 🇮🇳 looks FABULOUS heads and shoulders above the old products and even the IFE on the old seating in ALL CLASSES looks much improved! I cannot wait to fly Air India 🇮🇳 someday! Also missing lunch ouch! Indian cuisine is so so good and no lunch would definitely frustrate me especially when in Biz. However, the ex Aeroflot A350 seat looks great still just like the “secret” seat on Turkish Biz 🇹🇷😂
Cheers 🥂 mate! Hopefully they’ll soon upgrade all their existing 787s & older 777 cabins to the new standard as seen on the A350 however, it looks very very similar to the Delta One Suites now on several ex-Delta 777-200LRs now flown by Air India and honestly the Delta One product is so so similar to this one with a closing door and all it wouldn’t even be a big change if someone flew say the A350 Biz suite then in a 777-200LR Biz Suite I don’t think they’d notice many differences… Well unless they’re travel vloggers perhaps! 😂 Also it is very very sad for a 747 enthusiast like myself to see the AI 747-400s sitting in Mumbai rotting away! 😢 Do you know what’re the 747-400s plans? To be ferried to California or Arizona for scrapping & parting out? I hope so as that’d be my only way to see them in person since they no longer fly unfortunately! 😔
Cheers 🥂 here’s to the video and the future Air India! 😊 Finally, I love the music the song from your Cape Air review and the song at the end from your Fiji A350 review! 😂

Unfortunately Air India is facing severe penalties and fines by government bureaucrats whose privileges to free upgrade, contracts have suddenly seen a huge cut by the new Air India Management. My sources tell me that Mr Modi has been made aware of civil aviation ministry officials who still treat Air India as their play field and still make indirect requests for special treatment for themselves and their family members. Recently one DGCA officer got very angry and fined Air India when his family that was traveling to Europe for vacation was not upgraded and was not given access to the Air India lounge.

Air India has seen huge improvements and they are working extremely hard to make things better. When it was run by the government of India majority of business class and first class cabins were occupied by well connected people who bought cheap economy class tickets and used their power or infulence to get free upgrades. Now under the private mangement these classes have become 90% revenue generating.
Earlier and now also the corruption in DGCA is causing the regular and unreasonable fines on Air India, except Air India was rarely fined by DGCA when it was run by the government. Indian civil aviation ministry officials and DGCA officials are extremely upset at loosing the free Air India previleges for their families where the requests coming in for free upgrades are being denied by Air India.
My understanding is the Mr Scindia and Mr Modi have been made aware about these practices and an investigation is going on to get to the root of the historical practices and the current state of affairs.

Ratan Tata already owns Two airlines.1) Air Asia and 2) Vistara . He is buying Air India for a pittance to expand his Air lines wing .
    The hard facts are :
I )Sharing of debt of Air India :
The Total debt = Rs 61,562 crores
    The Govt share= Rs 46262 crores . The Tata's share =. Rs.15300 crores .
II ) What was sold to TATA
    1) Air India with 117 planes and Air India Express with 24 planes
2)control of 4400 Domestic and 1800 international landings and Parking slots at Domestic Airports
    3) 900 such slots in International Airports around the globe like London New York etc
    4) Ground handling facilities in the Airports
III ) What Tata paid Rs. 18000 crores
( Cash to GOI Rs. 270 Crores &
Share of debt = Rs. 15300 crores . Perhaps the Public Sector Banks may offer him loans to service those loans . Who knows ? )
The Govt of India sold Air India for a Net transaction of Rs. Rs. 270 crores .
Is not Tata a vile business tycoon?

Any brand new aircraft is going to look good. The measure of an airline is how good it maintains its older aircraft and refits them. You probably should give a shout out to Aeroflot for designing the interior, where Air India just had to change some fabric colors.

Aeroflot didn’t design the interior, this is an off the shelf product. No colours have in fact been changed!

About time Air India stepped up to the plate, I am due to fly LHR to BOM and will look out for the A350 flights. As we speak their prices are just over £1k GBP, if this is on the 350 then its a bargain.

Air India must give NEW Aircrafts to the Gulf Region and replace the OLD A320 Aircrafts. The region which gives the most revenue deserves the best in terms of Service.

I have a feeling that AI allowed it's B 777/787 wide body flight crew to operate the A 350's by not letting the A 320/321, pilots to fly it being a Airbus Aircraft 🛫🤔
