- When I discovered this technique using resin and metal foil, I was astonished. It happened by accident and a most pleasant accident it was. It is so easy to do and I am surprised I had not thought about doing it before.

Hi
If you cut the leaf into small squares you don't have to waist so much when you cover the dots. Thanks again for your videos
I finally got the self levelling work top. Each time I’ve gone to order one… it had sold out. It’s not exactly cheap, so I finally treated myself to one yesterday… as a belated Christmas pressie, to myself! Im setting it up tomorrow, so watch this space.
I need this frog in my life.... and my crafting inventory .. sadly i am late to the show, its currently sold out . Ill keep looking.. Great video thanks for the laughter as well! 🐸
That is SO cool I said a bad word in appreciation 🙀😹😻
Especially the frog! 😻👍
Beautiful effect.....also, love the way the gold leaf flies around my house and leaves my carpet all sparkly, so fancy! Lol xx
Hahaha…that’s a good way to look at it! I turn my vacuum on and put it right next to my hands while I’m using leaf and it STILL flies all over 😂
Love this! That 🐸 is ridiculously awesome! They all are, but that frog is special!
You can a very similar design by using metallic mica on details and removing excess will isopropanol and a cotton wool cue tip . Then adding a different mica . Cheaper easier less messy and just as good results but still their very nice. I'm into free form bowls right now and people love them
That frog! Love it so much!!! Nicely done, Sir
That frog is to die for 😊
wow love it! I think the frog is my favorite. Have to say, I love your channel and I am so glad I became a member. Love all the extra support I get on the members FB group.
WOW! SHINY! WOW!! Another great Steve idea!!! I can see a whole line of shiny products coming out lol
Love the mushroom!! Now I'll need to add metal foil to my ever growing wish list !!!
Holy Moley they are stunning!! I have to do this. AND I get a bonus big laugh with the Nutella on a blanket comment. I’ll be using that one.
Thanks for sharing 😂🥰
This is great. Tip maybe? Cover the mushroom head first then use the tape to clean off the dots? That way you use less leaf.
These are gorgeous .Also thank you for your messy moments..I'm not alone !! 😄
I too love the frog!! All of them are so shiny and cute. I have a lot of foil but haven't gotten to use it yet.... I'm not sure if what I have will work for this idea because it's just flakes. I'm going to try it anyway. Thank you again for the idea.
Have a GREAT weekend.
Stay safe, you do you, and stay crafty..👍👍🔔🛎️🦋🦋
The mushrooms are so pretty! I love those colors! I really love the frog. He is beautiful!
What a great idea. The frog is fantastic!
Kermit is stunning! The mushrooms are pretty also, thought I am not as big a fan of the crackle effect as you. The little one looks a bit like a Hershey's kiss.

Love it!
Now I'm gonna have to order more gold leaf😜
Have you tried painting the mold with nail polish before pouring?
I've done this with my coaster molds but for some reason never thought to apply it to my 3 dimensional molds! lol Quite lovely dear!
Thank you so kindly Steve. Love all of them. Nutella to a blanket....love it! Good thing I'm not on u tube. Lol Daughter of a sailor..I would be banned forever.
I discovered this myself when I started. It does stick rather well to the silicone and the results are stunning.
Awesome video Steve McDonald
Gorgeous!! 🤩
The frog is fantastic.
Wow, Steve those came out so, so nicely. I love the frog, and the mushrooms came out well too. I haven't seen anyone doing that with metal leaf paper anywhere. It's a really unique finish and it makes the items look very expensive, especially the frog! God bless you and yours Steve. Have a great weekend!
The frog is gorgeous, and what a cute spotted mushroom! I made some killer coasters last year with those colored foils. Love how they shine!
Awsum idea...love love love the frog 😵😍🐸💚
Ive never seen it either! And the Shine! Amazing!
Dude your videos are such a delight to watch. I love how happy you get about your projects, and your laugh is infectious ❤ your channel is really helping me get back into a creative mindset 🙏
Am addicted to glitter, foil and holographic cellophane, almost in that order. Have been looking for more foil to use and I think you have given me the link I have been looking for. Have so much in makeup brushes from various times people have gifted me with makeup sets, and I can't do it as they have castor oil in them and yeah, allergic. Also learning that I can have gold in pieces, just the findings can be the silver. Due to my own allergies to gold unless it's the high grade gold and not plated, I welt and/or what it touches turns bright red. So all my stuff is done in silver, plus, it doesn't take away from the piece itself, at least that's how I see it. Thank you Steve, for another great idea to work on.
Did you try dusting the moulds with Chameleon Powder?
I love to do that, then use a dark coloured resin to make the colour pop & the result is awesome too ☺️
Thanks for this. I've had trouble getting the large mushroom cap to fill out to the edges.
I think this is the best thing you’ve ever made! They are so cool!
Trying this tomorrow! Thanks for the idea
Love it, my daughter is into mushrooms she is going to love this idea
Off to do the frog. Had run out of ideas until I watched this.
OMG they are gorgeous.
If you mix your mica with a small amount of resin first, and then pour into the rest it’s easier to get rid of any lumps
Accidental discoveries ate the best!
They are gorgeous!!!
I love foiling in resin - it looks so awesome! I have that adorable frog mold and just love it. I really want some mushroom pots, too. Beautiful discovery, Steve! ❤😊👍
I am ALWAYS messy - massively so at times. Oy!
Omg I need that mushroom trinket jar !!
I love it. I have lots of mushrooms so I put smaller ones inside the bigger ones. Saved on resin. I have some pink leaf if I can just find it. great video.
OMG!! I LOVE THESE!
Hi Steve, WOW my goodness only one thing I can say Stunning 👍 so beautiful looking thanks for sharing Steve, if it is possible please can you do a coaster using the same method thanks 👍❤️🌈✨
Just love your videos and you are so funny
Wow these look amazing steve
Fabulous! Thank you.
I love the frog and how shiny it is, great technique, I will definitely try it ! Thank you.
So cute. I loved them.
Bless your heart, that was an awful lot of work that you put into doing those, however they came out beautifully, I loved the frog, it was so cool. BTW, don’t worry about being messy once in a while because I’ve seen much worse believe me. 😊
So beautiful. I like how you are quite messy. Makes me feel a lot better! lol
These are so funky and amazing. I just love them. Thank you for sharing them!
I absolutely adore the Frog
They are super cute ❤
Thank you for showing your squeeze mishap and not editing it out. It helps so much in the learning process of the do's and dont's. Love you your work and style =)
Love the shiny effect! I wonder how well they would work in a matte mold? I have some crystal molds that are matte. I wanted shiny. Maybe I could use the foils in it to MAKE it shiny! Thanks again for the cool ideas you give us!!!💙
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts yes please!
Great idea! I think I have the same mold..😊
Wow!! This is so cool. I can’t wait to try it. 5:46pm
@Charlene Lesher
I don't know how foils will stick to matte surfaces, but surely it will? Let us know how it goes? Good luck!
It will probaly look burnished meatless which whould also be cool
I love, love, love this!! Will definitely be trying it!
The frog is absolutely adorable
Hi Steve, I was given your kit for my birthday! Could you suggest a video for a complete novice? Xxx
Wow these are beautiful. Thanks for sharing ❤
So cool! I’ve seen it a few times (mostly for accent vsursus a whole mold) verry cool! Just gotta not Sand too much because it’s just a layer
LOVE that froggie!!
Great job! Once again!
Thanks Steve! 😊
Cool technique! I hadn’t considered using metal leaf in my work yet but I definitely will now!
Fabulous Steve, thanks for sharing. That would be a great technique for hiding bits and pieces of resin that are leftovers as well. Also, love being part of the Facebook group! You are very generous with your time and knowledge there!
Luck’s a fortune some times. :o) Really beautiful results.
Brilliant idea Steve - don't always have chameleon mica powder on hand and this is a gorgeous alternative. Lovely smooth finishThanks SO MUCH for your inventive and creative mind !!! 🤗
Steve absolutely love this technique !!! Where do you get your gold leaf.
That is so great. I love them. I already have ideas for pours. Thank you for sharing I love your channel ❤ 💕
