I enjoy scrolling and I enjoy your videos. I have an entry level machine which I love. I am trying a variety of simpler projects whilst I am learning.

    Great videos. Subcribed.
Just got the Hegner Multicut 2s. Love it. Only issue I'm having is the blades keep snapping up inside the top clamp usually after 10 to 15 min of use. No. 5 blade cutting thin birch plywood. It usually happens when I use the quick release clamp rather than the standard clamp. I assume it's something wrong tension wise but I can't figure it out yet. Any advice and tips would be hugely appreciated. Thanks

Hi Ferdia, great to hear from you and thanks for subscribing to our RUclips channel.
The first things I would check is if the tension is set correctly on the quick release clamp. I set it so the blade goes to the top of the quick release clamp. If you are doing the same then it might be the quality of blade you are using. I work with Niqua speed blades but Flying Dutchman and Pegas blades also do a great job. The only issue I have with pegas blades is they tend to slip in the blade holder, so I rough them up with sandpaper on the ends before I use them.
I would definitely suggest trying different amounts of tension on the blade. It sounds like the blade is under more stress than it should be for it to be consistently breaking after a limited amount of time.
Thank you again for supporting our RUclips channel. Hope you enjoy working with the Hegner multicut 2s, it's a fantastic scroll saw and work with. All the very best from us all. 👍👍

@@DailovespoonsThomas thanks for the reply. I first used the no. 5 blade that came with the hegner saw, then I also tried a pegas no. 5, same result, blade breaks high up in the blade clamp itself. When you ask mention the tensioning, is there a way to tension within the blade clamp itself? Could I be closing it too tight? I know it's trial and error but seen as it's the same model you use I knew you could help. Cheers, Love the channel

Hi Ferdia, thanks for getting back to me. It's possible that you are over tightening the clamp but this usually results in breaking the thread of the screw in the blade clamp. I would suspect that there is too much tension applied to the blade and this can be adjusted at the back of the scroll saw itself. Other than that it's possible that something isn't operating correctly. You're more than welcome to send a short video or photos to see if we can help sort the problem.
