In spiritual masses they do come through and tell us what we need to rid ourselves of. You can ask your eggun for favors and can put them to work but it needs to be within reason and make sure you're giving them the attention and energy they need. I'm initiated in Yoruba (Afro-Cuban) not nigerian so maybe that's the difference. But like you said they should do it regardless- if they are strong enough and that depends on each individual.

I grew up in a Rastafarian household and I can definitely remember a lot of spiritual things and rituals going on. while I haven't been in it 100% for some years now, I still adhere to certain things.

Then they most likely will be happy to help you if you ask them kindly, if it is something that will better your life situation, even needs. I also have found that working with an Agent, which is a Deity connected to the dead and a Gatekeeper helps, as they will ask the dead on your behalf. However, you first must have a relationship with the Deity in question as well as an altar and offerings to them regularly. Some examples of Gatekeeper Deities with connections to the dead are, Hekate, Santa Muerte, St. Cyprian, Papa Legba, Ishtar, Azazel (Saturn), Azrael, Anubis, Kali, Jesus, Sol, Ra, Helios, and many more. Any Person that has died and gone into the underworld and been reborn as a Deity is a good choice.
