*SPOILER* probably because she wasn't trying to get Negan to help her, and instead her plan was to trick Negan and then trade him for her son, cause the bad guys wanted Negan.
Codron and the police guy in dead city were pretty similar if you think about it. Both were at first, after the protagonist, then they had a change of heart and helped the protagonist, then they went to their respective organizations and the leader of their organizations found out that they were lying.
I really liked the first season of DD. It was shot well, acting was great and story was solid. But I do agree the sudden turn of Codron was really weird.
I might just be reading too much into Codron's character but I think him sparing Daryl and going back instead of joining Daryl's group makes sense. He wants Daryl dead still but the kid's safety comes first, so if he takes out Daryl the chances of Laurant getting in danger increases so he stops. And with going back to Cadron's previous benefactors, he buys the kid more time(even if it might not end up being a lot) to escape further instead of them immediately getting gunned down once their pursuers see him now tagging along with them.
I saw his actions in this way as well. I think his care for the child comes from him seeing some semblance of hope in lieu of his constant thwarting of “revenge”. He figured at some point it wasn’t worth it, but the kid surviving is.
the reason he killed the 3 guys made some sort of sense - he didn't want to kill the kid but after he killed those guys, it made no sense to me Codron did everything he could to find Daryl - then the 1 chance he finds Daryl alone he says "not today" and walks away. like what??? maybe they'll explain Codron's decision in the next season but yeah it made no sense
Great recap but sad there was no mention of the "Bon Appetit" line @ 7:55. That's what Daryl said to the man that left to get eaten it was hilarious lmao
I don't know what to think about this show. I get that they might want to show how other parts of the world were effected by the zombie outbreak and show how different cultures reacted and emerged from that, but honestly even at the end I still thought that this show being in France is just kinda random. I thought maybe the last episode might recontextualize the show to be about "Daryl traveling around the word just to get back to his Family". That made some sense to me because we would actually get to see England and maybe even other parts of Europe from Daryls perspective in the coming seasons, but with Laurent catching up to Daryl at the end of the episode I doubt they'll end up doing this. I'm actually a bit sad about that tbh, because for a second I really believed that they would go as far as leave all these characters they introduced this season behind in Daryls pursuit of finding his way home and that really resonated with me in a very bitter sweet way and not seeing those characters again next season would've only made that feeling more intense. I get that not everyone would be into that, but I'd have nothing against seeing an entire new cast of characters for the next season, especially in this show about our number one loner. I'll say this though, seeing both Carol and Daryl on a mission to more or less find back to each other is kind of nice, no matter how weird the setup for that actually was.
this show was some of my favorite walking dead content ever, i think. It was up there with mexico in fear and season3-4 of the main series for me. I LOVE the expanded world and seeing other countries
To me, it made absolutely no f'n sense that Daryl Dixon, a character who has been built for 10+ years as a man who has a deep care for his family and friends (Carol, Judith, Ezekiel, Maggie, Aaron, etc), would just throw all that away, and not go back to the USA in order to stay in France with some French kid and a nun with whom he's only spent a couple of weeks maybe months.
This is what really got me too. I thought the show was amazing but my expectation was that Daryl would return to America at the end and at the end where it basically shows he choose to stay I was like this is the dumbest thing ever because it doesn’t fit his character at all. They basically gaslighted him into staying with them too and they all knew he had people back in America. I’m just hoping in season 2 he returns
These are such great videos, I sit and listen to them as I do homework all the time. You have really good vocal control! I have never seen a single episode of the walking dead (just watched some timeline videos) but I have learned so much about it from your videos lol
mmmmmmmmm too much commitment, will stick to timeline videos and this guy's essays. Zombie stuff gives me nightmares, and my college is too far away for me to make it my mom's problem@@okuttari
i’d give overall 8.2/10 or a little higher, which is VERY GOOD for a twd spin-off in 2023. Every character for the most part actually makes you care abt them, and the visuals were prob the best TWD has had. A good complete story with 6 eps, tho there are some plot armor moments.
it’s like a 6, and i don’t think it made us care about the characters at all, we never feared for anything because it was full of plot armor, there was plenty of parts where daryl would have died of it weren’t for some stupid random miracle, we’re not genuinely scared because the only characters at risk of death are characters that we don’t give a shit about, and it lacks realism and practicality, full of stupid ass action scenes that are just cringe, it’s definitely better than twd s10-11 and ftwd past s4 but still a relatively shitty show
Codron was easily the most underwhelming character. I had the impression there would be a bigger focus on what the death of his brother truly did to him, and the lengths he would go to seek out his justice would show some kind of desperation that would lead him to realizing what he had become. Maybe it would be generic, but it would make a little more sense for his sudden turn around to sparing Daryl. It sorta felt like the writers just wanted another big shock plot twist for the sake of it. I hope they do something more with Codron next season, but I don't have my hopes high for much from him. I'm curious about where they're going to take season 2 of Daryl Dixon because the (admittedly very very brief) teaser for it has me skeptical. I wasn't the biggest fan of Carol in season 10 and 11 of TWD so I hope they're able to reinvent her in the same way they did Daryl. I have a lot more confidence in Daryl season 2 than Dead City season 2 though, I'm really glad this show is as good as it is. Episodes 5 & 6 were so good, they nailed the hype build up to the variant walker deathmatch lol. That's gotta be one of my favorite moments across the franchise now. I just hope they don't stretch out this show longer than it needs to be, since there were talks about Dead City potentially lasting 5 seasons. I'd be okay with 2-3 seasons of each show, obviously it will depend on where the story goes but if they're already planning on doing a big finale spin-off tying all of the shows together, they can't keep the spin-offs going for too long or people will lose interest. But who knows, maybe they can prove me wrong. I wasn't sure how they could make me love TWD more than I already do but they did an exceptional job with Daryl Dixon. I was hovering over an 8-9/10 rating but I feel like an 8 is fair given some of the issues you listed.
He killed his own men because they wanted him to kill Laurent, and he doesn't kill kids. My presumption is he didn't have a change of heart, but he was outnumbered and the element of surprise was totally gone by that point, so the odds were no longer in his favour as he knows how capable Daryl is after seeing him fight the variants and all of his other men, but he also knew Daryl just wanted out of there and wouldn't care to turn on him at that moment if he spared him. Just my theory but I think Codron did that to save himself and get an easy outing after his hand was forced, not to spare Daryl.
@xkinsey3831 I can accept that for the most part but he was so angry and bitter towards Daryl, probably even more so after seeing he survived the Variant death match and managed to escape the complex. I'm just surprised he didn't kill Daryl anyway, or at least try to. Maybe you're right though, I didn't think about that.
@@handsomeman9433 understandable. I guess the first season of Dead City left a bitter taste in my mouth so I wasn't really thinking about what all they were setting up for season 2. I think I still have a bit more confidence in Daryl Dixon but I'm interested in seeing what direction they're gonna take both shows in.
I sadly just feel there was a lot of missed opportunities here. It seemed when it was first announced this series was going to really explore and delve into the variants(maybe even the wildfire virus as a whole) due to the world beyond post credit scene. Instead that scene now just feels random and unimportant now as it wasn't touched on at all. My theory on this is they shifted gears right before filming to basically just do their version of The Last of Us to ride on that shows success. It's also hard to believe he'd abandon a kid he's had a hand in raising for over a decade to raise a similarly aged kid he's known for two weeks. If he were to bring Laurent back with him to the states that would make sense but doesn't seem they are headed that way.
I think its possible carol was saying Negan came back. If he is being used now by the "new" group in new York to conquer communities and expand their own.
the radio communiction sounds like: ich, or ik, or ick, came back. its gotta be rick, bout time anyways, and she didn't tell him asap because rick isn't himself, probably because of something the CRM did or is doing. and she is looking for Daryl without rick because she left the uncomfortable rick situation which we don't know about yet to bring daryl back to convince rick to get back to normal some how. or so i'm guessing >:D
Personally I see this as the best spinoff besides ftwd s1-3, each episode that came out I was exited where they would take the story its kinda fire and strange how this late on where still learning new things about daryl and his past, the character development he had was surprising
I think its Dwight who returned, and i also think that Carols just getting used to things being quiet without a massive threat looming around the corner. I want Issa and Laurent to go back with Daryl and probably Carol, but I have a feeling Issa's going to die next season.
Make sense since Dwight and Sherri did say they were going back to sanctuary for some stupid reason lol it was destroyed when they were there a few episodes earlier
The actress who plays Isabelle doesn't give her character any "pop". The subtitles take away from the show. You miss some of the scenes, or they change the screen too quickly, and you don't get to finish reading them. Otherwise, I enjoyed the seasons very much. I give it a solid 6.5. Find a new Isabelle, and I would give it a 9 out of 10.
While i dont think it was "rick came back" its not impossible that based on the timeline he could have. Him not traveling to wirh carol to find daryl can be justified. If Rick returns to Alexandria/Commonwealth and reunited with his kids, him seeing that michonne left in one direction and that daryl left in another direction would severely complicate "going out to bring them both back" it is plausible that carol might volunteer to search for daryl since shes been in contact, while michonne has essentially been MIA for a decade with no returned communication. Basically they could feasibly track down daryl, or at least justify a storyline where they try to. Michonne theres no chance they just go out and find her. So a reasonable "end game esque" reunion could be: rick returns, carol tracks daryl down and they come back, the trio of rick/carol/dsryl Retrace Michonne's steps with help from Virgil to eventually find Michonne
This new series was fantastic, the writing, acting, photography, effects- and the scenery was spectacular. But why was Genet sailing to US for walkers, since France had more aggressive ones already? And Codron was lied to about his brother, Dixon would have killed him but didn’t actually, finding that out might have given reason not to kill them in the end, but his turnaround seemed out of character. Regarding Laurent, if his teachings and gentle nature were to combine with Daryl’s skills, he could prove to become someone of significance. Until then I think Daryl Dixon is the messiah!
I like the zombies like it’s pretty cool, especially the custom like walking dead map but I’d much rather you show clips from the show and stuff like that not because you’re trash at zombies or anything like that surviving 29 round is pretty chill, but it really gets me into the setting when I see the characters on screenable to visualize what you say better hope this helps
The walkers used to be the main threat in the show but in the past seasons they aren’t nearly as much of a problem, so I definitely think variant walkers are a great change for the show. However I hate the concept of walkers who have burning hot/acid blood, it’s just a lame concept for the show in my opinion. Stronger, faster, and smarter walkers is a great change though. I also really wasnt a fan of the experiments on the walkers to make them stronger. I like keeping it in line with giving walkers some sort of plated armor (like the helmet on the walker Daryl fought or Wilslow from the junkyard)
I like the mixture of the clips and zombies I was actually very interested in this twd zombies map so if there’s anymore like the farm or the prison etc I would love that with a mix of clips and pictures from whatever the topic is. Great video.
I can't stand laurent and think his aunt is manipulates Daryl. She may have good intentions but it's still toxic behavior. She lied to him about the drawing, then tried to guilt him into staying. She is a natural liar which does makes her intresting. Hopefully this isn't the "happy ending" Daryl gets. France sucks
Omg that kid is so annoying, and him showing up at the beach sucked.. like now he has to go with him or let him die, given the fact he can't defend himself very well and is surrounded by walkers
I feel like it was just in case they didn’t get a second season. They decided to have her say that. I get it, and I agree with people that selfish. But I think she’s just scared. She doesn’t know what’s coming next. And the bad guys are still out there.it’s implied that he just doesn’t want to kill kids. That he’s not evil to the core like that. Or you can just say, whatever happened with the inconsolable lady. He did that to him. 12:23 he states that Daryl, has the best chance of getting him there. 12:11 no choice. They would’ve caught up with him eventually.12:11 that would’ve made any sense either. No matter where they ended up he. He would’ve been cast out anyway? Leading to the exact same outcome. Who knows what him and his brother were doing, before Daryl showed up. He’ll probably be recognized. It’s implied that they were up to some nefarious stuff though. Probably extorting people. Sure they would except him. But would the others. Look how much it took just for Daryl, just to accept Negan. He almost killed Rick by accident. 12:03 easy, to control the world, with advanced walkers. Stopping the CRM for saving the world in the process. And remaking the world the way that they want.
I saw info that DD season 3 he, Norman stated he’s going to Spain. So idk how that’s going to play in with Carols theory of bring him home. On this update… I noted the “fact” that the kid drew pic of Darrell, the auntie nun stated she lied. It was staged n done after she found him. Second, the scene where he gave the childhood memory, Darell stated “nah, he made that sht up”. Yea I also agree that the nun with her guilt trip at end was a “itch stay in your lane moment” for me totally selfish. I’d imagine she ran n woke up kid to stop Darrell. N ofc he’d be right there on beach where Darrell would have to save him instead of boarding boat home. Smh, so much for kid telling Darrell he deserved happy ending too. I would have way rathered Darrell n Connie to have closed circle on that hook up. Personally idk who carol was saying comes home, but I too don’t think it was Rick, even tho you can hear (ik) sound from carol, I think it will be explained away, there’s no way to make sense that she’d go off looking for Darell without Rick insisting on being shotgun on that adventure. (Totally agree with you on that) I find that personally trying to keep their time lines of which was to come first is worse than chicken n egg dilemma, … smh. I’m just enjoying seeing them all I guess. This one by far is my fav tho. Love to hate Negan but Maggie is insufferable. I would have rathered her keep her stand of never more never more with him. The fact that it keeps getting pushed of them working together for any reason is just like an itchy but hole. N the ones that lived seemed so rushed n frankly didn’t make sense. The whole blowing up compound n them survived under a Home Depot tarp was offensive smh.
Im sorry but Daryl is not A pseudo father to the french kid. They’re isn’t even close to enough scenes between them for that angle to work. Isabel definitely wants Daryl to be like a father but at this point I’m not buying it.
Codron was really interesting to me, I think he didn't want to kill the kid, because everyone heard the rumors of him being special, and a lot of the folks believe him to be. So the change in Codron's heart could be because he also believes in it. He saw what Genet was capable, and how worse things can go. And after Rick's mercy prevailing over his wrath, this act can also be done by other characters if they believe in the bigger picture. Him coming back was a bit stupid, ngl. Had higher hopes after he spared Daryl and the Lil French Jesus, that he would have this double agent that difn't enact his vengeance because he knew daryl would deliver the knockoff Ellie to the right people, not beng him the one to deliver because he had duties as the eyes and ears of the other group (The one with intentions to make a cure out of Laurant).
I could not get into all the god bothering nonsense this season like wtf, all the badass shit rhey xould of done with daryl and this is what they gave us
I think Jadis came back. as soon as carol was saying the name it glitched out because someone disconnected the radio kinda like we saw Mercer disconnect the radio Eugene was using. Jadis would do that, the CRM took control over commonwealth/alexandria/hilltop/oceanside, because Rick escaped the CRM but failed
When Laurent was born his mother was already bit like Judith. I thought it would be cool, that people who are born while their mothers birthed them are immune from the virus and can maybe eventually be undetectable from walkers. Making Judith and Laurent the cure.
I think codron initially thought that they were the "good guys" or atleast a military type group that would be the only chance and creating a new society and his whole vendetta against daryl was because he killed his brother but then once he realized that daryl was just trying to do the same for him and was protecting laurant because thats what he thought was the other group thought was the only chance at a new society combined with the fact that he saw more or the horrors his own group committed like experiments imprisonment having gladiator tournaments etc combined to make him realize that everyone is fighting for the same cause but they might be doing it better than his own group so he let them go
And it also makes complete sense to me why he would go back to his group 1 that's all he's known since the apocalypse and even tho they're bad they're his "family" 2 i think he genuinely thought he could fool the leaders just by playing cool 3 he thought he could be a double agent of sorts or at least try to bring some change to the group 4 if he ran he knew he would be caught or lead to Laurant being caught 5 he knew Daryl's group would never accept him even tho he helped them and he'd rather be with shitty people than be daryls prisoner
God I hated it so much, I don't know why people enjoy it, I wish I did. the characters were shallow, pacing was awful, setting was okay villain was mid
It's too bad your footage got corrupted, but I do prefer footage of the show as opposed to video games. Great review, I'll always come back regardless.
Azlan seemed like a bad ass with a good heart. A Hershel meets Daryl. I wish he could have been of more use maybe even joining the group long term. The universe needs more characters created that are cool and complex like Huck. Give us people to care about and cheer on. Stop killing off every cool person who shows up, and stop milking our established characters.
wtf are you on about it was full of retarded dramatic action that lacked realism and practicality, it was full of bland and boring characters, only characters worth remembering were daryl and Isabelle, the little kid was annoying asf, it was full of side plots with characters that we didn’t give a single shit about, and the special walkers is just so cringe, and it doesn’t make sense either, please go watch the original series’s first couple of seasons and tell me how this show compares
tbh i feel like codron let daryl live as he knew Isabella and Laurent would have more of a chance of getting to the nest with daryl, or maybe he just forgave him for kill his brother
SPOILER ALERT: . . . . . . . . . regarding the theory that Dwight is the one who Carol was talking about on the radio - its probably wrong because in the latest episode of Fear he decides to come back to PADRE and help in the war against Troy, so although it was my favourite theory its probably false
I think that the French place will be overthrown and Isabelle, Daryl, and Laurent will go back to the US. Maybe Laurent and Judith end up together eventually.
Play The Way Darrell gets to France. Seems like how Bethesda would write a Fallout character getting to a New Area unlocked after purchasing a DLC. Lol
This show somehow managed to be fresh and different but also boring and generic. It had and still has so much potential but theyre just not exploring it, people only seem to like it because of the variant/experiment walkers, but that only plays a small part, and the bad writing and flawed concept behind the show hold it back from greatness. It's all style and no substance for me
I like the idea that laurant is immune cus his mom was a zombie when she gave birth to him even tho that's pretty much the same thing that happened in the last of us
Or maybe not just immune, but can control or at least be naturally ignored by them. Imagine a final showdown with him and Judith commanding a super horde against the French bad guys in the war vs the CRM in America.
I like your clips of different things but I also like the zombies gameplay if you can make more videos with both gameplay and different clips of what your talking about that would be awesome
It seems to me like were gonna get a World War 3 type situation in the limited series. Think about it, all of the major villains in these shows have been shown to essentially be the presiedents of their own nations, with several settlements under their control and an insane amount of manpower and resources. So were gonna have The Commonwealth, The New Babylon Marshals, The Gurriers, The Lady From Dead City, and The CRM all six vying for power and control of these precious resources and power.
It's a good video, but I don't like the format that you had with Call of Duty Zombies playing in the background. Since you asked what we prefer, I prefer the screenshot editing of your previous videos. Stick with that in the future. : )
Honestly think it’s Maggie coming back, and tells her what happened in NYC. I think they go back to America somehow instead of carol ending up in France. They reunite somehow lol. 😂
@@JohnnyJohnnyJohnnyJohnnyJohnny what about it was Maggie and it was when Hershel got kidnapped in the first place. It just took about a year to find Negan?
why there is some video game footage playing? had to close the video after seeing that. I haven't watched your stuff in a while but I used to love your older twd breakdowns.
Turns out the crm experimented on rick and made him into a kid named laurent and was born in france and also made him forget everything. So laurent will grow up to become monsieur richard grimes 😂😂
I wanted to love season 1 so bad but I was so bored! Hopefully season 2 is better. I was so bored I didn’t even finish the last episode and I just jumped to the review. Like what am I watching for caring me to the next episode. All the characters and atmosphere is boring
I liked the zombies gameplay but it makes the video feel a bit more generic in the genre of “commentary with video games” ideally you could find a happy medium with the game aswell as spliced in pictures and clips but the game should still match the topic otherwise it seems to clash. I also think your alittle too generous on the rating but I absolutely love your videos and always look forward to more
It really tells you didn't watch Fear. Morgan never left to find Rick lol he left to take his daughter somewhere safer, probably Alexandria. But he never said he was looking for Rick lol he doesn't even know Rick is missing, he left before Rick did and so did Dwight. It really makes it laughable you want to be an expert on this series but never watched Fear. Yeah it was crap, but it took like 2 weeks to watch
Are we forgetting that the walkers straight up just ignored Laurent after he ran away. Like he straight up just started praying and the walkers all ignored him. We can't overlook that. I personally think they'll try to go the scientific route when explaining this, if they ever do explain it. But who knows? Maybe they will make him French Jesus.
Maybe something like during his birth there was something transfered to him that made the "standard" walkers not recognize him but the variants do, similar to how the walkers don't attack each other. That'd explain the scene where one walker tries to get to him when at the Eiffel Tower.
LOL I thought the same thing till I rewatched it again and realized that entire scene was Daryll hallucinating/dreaming it. That never actually happened Watch it again. He was knocked out in the water during it after falling through the floor.
What about it was underwhelming to you? I personally thought this show was sick as fuck. Miles better than dead city. But I of course have some issues with it. But what about the show was underwhelming for you? I’m curious
@@_jay_6132 dead city is built off and argument over Glenn death that was played out years ago that's the problem with that show Glenn been dead 16 years Maggie & Negan did not need a spin off at all I'm tired of Maggie balled up face 😂😂😂. Even Negan getting old. As for Daryl show the issue of the walkers being background is another issue carried over from TWD despite the virus originating in France & having different types of dead. They weren't utilized at all. The testing of Daryl having another potential love interest is played out. Laurent was beyond annoying the villain is awful none of the characters are interesting besides daryl. Nobody asked for The Book of Carol extension either. I was looking forward to Daryl spin off since he was my second favorite character from TWD but it was just a letdown. Guess I'll have to wait for The Ones Who Live.
@@chanelhenderson8460 Yea I get what you mean about everything. Especially the grudge Maggie has on negan. I mean sure he killed her husband at the end of the day but idk it’s annoying to see her sort of forgive him and trust him and go right back to having that pissy face attitude she has with him. That parts really annoying. As for the zombies I’m surprised you think they’re background cuz I thought they became more of a threat with the burners and then with the fast and stronger zombies too. But I guess they could’ve included them more if that’s what you meant
@@_jay_6132 with Daryl show despite the zombies evolving I feel like they're not utilized like in TWD they became background like a minor inconvenience until the plot needed them to be a problem think about when Rick first woke up then as the show went on humans became the main threat then the walkers would pop up like Hi! We're still here. I want to see the walkers be an actual threat I didn't tune into Daryl show to see him escort some annoying kid. As for Dead City yea I agree with you the back & forth with Maggie & Negan is played out now she feels bad for turning him over now she gonna go save him. 🤦🏽🤦🏽🤦🏽 exactly where are we going with this show?
I just can't get into it and that upsets me. I want to like it, but I don't. There is too much religious nonsense in this show and it has nuns in it. For the love of The Flying Spaghetti Monster, they had Daryl saying grace 🙄. That's not even the reason I stopped watching, although it did make the decision easier. The problem is I don't know French and I'm not about to learn it for a TV show. Yeah, there are subtitles, but I want to watch the show, not read the book. I can't see what's going on if my eyes are focused on subtitles all of the time. It's just too much of chore.
Theoretically dead city takes place after the ones who live and Daryl. So ima need a reason why Maggie didnt ask Rick or Daryl for help.
*SPOILER* probably because she wasn't trying to get Negan to help her, and instead her plan was to trick Negan and then trade him for her son, cause the bad guys wanted Negan.
@@The_Real_deBizzle😂😂😂

7:59 small correction, he did actually say “Bon Apetit” before leaving the guy, which I still found pretty funny 💀
Now no one can say he didn’t learn enough French while he was there 😂
Codron and the police guy in dead city were pretty similar if you think about it. Both were at first, after the protagonist, then they had a change of heart and helped the protagonist, then they went to their respective organizations and the leader of their organizations found out that they were lying.
Thats actually a really good comparison
3:17 Negan casually walking around😅
I really liked the first season of DD. It was shot well, acting was great and story was solid. But I do agree the sudden turn of Codron was really weird.
There was no build up to it. They could’ve shown him having doubts in some way. It did just kind of came out of no where.
I might just be reading too much into Codron's character but I think him sparing Daryl and going back instead of joining Daryl's group makes sense. He wants Daryl dead still but the kid's safety comes first, so if he takes out Daryl the chances of Laurant getting in danger increases so he stops. And with going back to Cadron's previous benefactors, he buys the kid more time(even if it might not end up being a lot) to escape further instead of them immediately getting gunned down once their pursuers see him now tagging along with them.
lol still doesn’t make sense he had no incentive to care abt the kid
I saw his actions in this way as well. I think his care for the child comes from him seeing some semblance of hope in lieu of his constant thwarting of “revenge”. He figured at some point it wasn’t worth it, but the kid surviving is.
It is for the kid
the reason he killed the 3 guys made some sort of sense - he didn't want to kill the kid
but after he killed those guys, it made no sense to me
Codron did everything he could to find Daryl - then the 1 chance he finds Daryl alone he says "not today" and walks away. like what???
maybe they'll explain Codron's decision in the next season but yeah it made no sense
In the first episode he was totally ready to abduct the kid and turn him into a soldier for the cause so I don't see why he suddenly cared
Great recap but sad there was no mention of the "Bon Appetit" line @ 7:55. That's what Daryl said to the man that left to get eaten it was hilarious lmao

this show was some of my favorite walking dead content ever, i think.
Totally agree! Terrible story and not in character for Daryl.
And their not even good characters they did nothing but almost get him killed over and over
This is what really got me too.
WHAT U WAITING FOR TO START ITTTTTT
mmmmmmmmm too much commitment, will stick to timeline videos and this guy's essays.
Completely agree
@xkinsey3831 I can accept that for the most part but he was so angry and bitter towards Daryl, probably even more so after seeing he survived the Variant death match and managed to escape the complex. I'm just surprised he didn't kill Daryl anyway, or at least try to. Maybe you're right though, I didn't think about that.
I mean, I like Daryl Dixon more, but I’m more interested in the future story being set up my Dead City. It seems really large in scale
It's probably Rick
@@daniellappvp idk y she would say he came back that implies everyone knew he was alive which they didn't, it would make more sense to say hes alive
I think if Daryl doesnt get on the boat it would be stupidly out if character, no fuxking way hed stay in france, no fucking shot
Real
the radio communiction sounds like: ich, or ik, or ick, came back. its gotta be rick, bout time anyways, and she didn't tell him asap because rick isn't himself, probably because of something the CRM did or is doing. and she is looking for Daryl without rick because she left the uncomfortable rick situation which we don't know about yet to bring daryl back to convince rick to get back to normal some how. or so i'm guessing >:D
This was way better than dead city and soooooo good overall
Personally I see this as the best spinoff besides ftwd s1-3, each episode that came out I was exited where they would take the story
its kinda fire and strange how this late on where still learning new things about daryl and his past, the character development he had was surprising
I think its Dwight who returned, and i also think that Carols just getting used to things being quiet without a massive threat looming around the corner.
I want Issa and Laurent to go back with Daryl and probably Carol, but I have a feeling Issa's going to die next season.
Make sense since Dwight and Sherri did say they were going back to sanctuary for some stupid reason lol it was destroyed when they were there a few episodes earlier
yeah its a bit of fresh air but daryl made a promise to be back and i want him back
The actress who plays Isabelle doesn't give her character any "pop".
Rick and michonne found each other at the crm so this storyline doesn’t make sense
Zero variants in the ones who live... missed opportunity 😮😢
When Laurent was born his mother was already bit like Judith. I thought it would be cool, that people who are born while their mothers birthed them are immune from the virus and can maybe eventually be undetectable from walkers. Making Judith and Laurent the cure.
I think codron initially thought that they were the "good guys" or atleast a military type group that would be the only chance and creating a new society and his whole vendetta against daryl was because he killed his brother but then once he realized that daryl was just trying to do the same for him and was protecting laurant because thats what he thought was the other group thought was the only chance at a new society combined with the fact that he saw more or the horrors his own group committed like experiments imprisonment having gladiator tournaments etc combined to make him realize that everyone is fighting for the same cause but they might be doing it better than his own group so he let them go
my grammar in this is horrible but u get the point 😂
And it also makes complete sense to me why he would go back to his group
1 that's all he's known since the apocalypse and even tho they're bad they're his "family"
2 i think he genuinely thought he could fool the leaders just by playing cool
3 he thought he could be a double agent of sorts or at least try to bring some change to the group
4 if he ran he knew he would be caught or lead to Laurant being caught
5 he knew Daryl's group would never accept him even tho he helped them and he'd rather be with shitty people than be daryls prisoner
God I hated it so much, I don't know why people enjoy it, I wish I did.
the characters were shallow, pacing was awful, setting was okay
villain was mid
Hear me out… what if Rick came back but he’s no longer a friendly character?
it was dwanye the rock johnson who came back
It's too bad your footage got corrupted, but I do prefer footage of the show as opposed to video games. Great review, I'll always come back regardless.
I think it makes sense to have Codron forgive Daryl, seeing as how Daryl never killed his brother and it was that one girl that stabbed him.
He doesn't know that
@@themagnificentorange672 I know. It probably would have made more sense if Daryl told him that.
Azlan seemed like a bad ass with a good heart. A Hershel meets Daryl. I wish he could have been of more use maybe even joining the group long term. The universe needs more characters created that are cool and complex like Huck. Give us people to care about and cheer on. Stop killing off every cool person who shows up, and stop milking our established characters.
loved daryl show excited for s2 and where he goes after france!! Just wish they progressed the story more or told us more details overall 9.2/10👏🏼🔥🔥🔥🔥
wtf are you on about it was full of retarded dramatic action that lacked realism and practicality, it was full of bland and boring characters, only characters worth remembering were daryl and Isabelle, the little kid was annoying asf, it was full of side plots with characters that we didn’t give a single shit about, and the special walkers is just so cringe, and it doesn’t make sense either, please go watch the original series’s first couple of seasons and tell me how this show compares
tbh i feel like codron let daryl live as he knew Isabella and Laurent would have more of a chance of getting to the nest with daryl, or maybe he just forgave him for kill his brother

regarding the theory that Dwight is the one who Carol was talking about on the radio - its probably wrong because in the latest episode of Fear he decides to come back to PADRE and help in the war against Troy, so although it was my favourite theory its probably false
I think that the French place will be overthrown and Isabelle, Daryl, and Laurent will go back to the US. Maybe Laurent and Judith end up together eventually.
Very late comment. But absolutely watching zombies gameplay in the back had me locked in on the video. Perfect for the walking dead videos.
Play The Way Darrell gets to France. Seems like how Bethesda would write a Fallout character getting to a New Area unlocked after purchasing a DLC. Lol
Awesome review Thrifty 👏
This show somehow managed to be fresh and different but also boring and generic. It had and still has so much potential but theyre just not exploring it, people only seem to like it because of the variant/experiment walkers, but that only plays a small part, and the bad writing and flawed concept behind the show hold it back from greatness. It's all style and no substance for me
just realized this is a map of the sanctuary, lol
Very good analysis. Thanks!
I give it a 9 out of 10 I just think it's the best spin-off since fear The walking dead's first three season
I can’t lie … i like the France setting and vibes hella 🔥🔥🔥🔥 The ____ cameback & opp dude turning on the troops made zero sense lol
I like the idea that laurant is immune cus his mom was a zombie when she gave birth to him even tho that's pretty much the same thing that happened in the last of us
yes I'd say it is cringe how they did that.
LETS GOOOOO HE UPLOADED
PERFECT ANALOGY!!
We're expecting daryl to be happy to see carol. What if hes pissed lol
She did say "Rick came back" It's so clear
I absolutely loved Daryl Dixon. It was an interesting show with good music. A new and exotic French vibe..
I’ve been waiting for this 🔥
It's a good video, but I don't like the format that you had with Call of Duty Zombies playing in the background. Since you asked what we prefer, I prefer the screenshot editing of your previous videos. Stick with that in the future. : )
Enjoyed watching the game play but you should try adding some of the information on screen as well.
Love your work ♥️
I personally like clips, not video game footage.
Honestly think it’s Maggie coming back, and tells her what happened in NYC. I think they go back to America somehow instead of carol ending up in France. They reunite somehow lol. 😂
Problem is dead city takes place years after DD

I literally explained why in the first 30 seconds 😂
I just realized half into the video is a cod zombies the walking dead version, dafuq 😂😂
Way better than dead shity
I was glad the season ended. The writing is painful.
Da F were all the fast zombies at? Only reason I FIRST tuned in.
It ended up being decent though, still wtf were the fast zombies
5.5/10.
Me and my wife really enjoyed it
Why is the background a video game?
Turns out the crm experimented on rick and made him into a kid named laurent and was born in france and also made him forget everything. So laurent will grow up to become monsieur richard grimes 😂😂
I wanted to love season 1 so bad but I was so bored! Hopefully season 2 is better. I was so bored I didn’t even finish the last episode and I just jumped to the review. Like what am I watching for caring me to the next episode. All the characters and atmosphere is boring
Smile crying
I love your theory hated them shooting game video as it’s background needed more series clips.
It's alright, it's just a lesser The Last Of Us (both adaptations)
Definitely agree about the universe needing to expand on the variants, given how the final season of The Walking Dead barely did anything with them.
The watching you play was less interesting than the regular but it wasn’t bad
I liked the zombies gameplay but it makes the video feel a bit more generic in the genre of “commentary with video games” ideally you could find a happy medium with the game aswell as spliced in pictures and clips but the game should still match the topic otherwise it seems to clash. I also think your alittle too generous on the rating but I absolutely love your videos and always look forward to more

Why is there just some random gameplay going on for this review?
It really tells you didn't watch Fear. Morgan never left to find Rick lol he left to take his daughter somewhere safer, probably Alexandria. But he never said he was looking for Rick lol he doesn't even know Rick is missing, he left before Rick did and so did Dwight. It really makes it laughable you want to be an expert on this series but never watched Fear. Yeah it was crap, but it took like 2 weeks to watch
I can't stand Carol. I will watch season 1 but if her character still sucks it's over.
Are we supposed to be watching a video game as you narrate?
This show was very underwhelming....they could've did much better with a spin off for a beloved character. Show was pretty boring
Eh i thought it was okay. Was kind of boring imo
god damn. I hate when you use the game play footage.
