When he asked for a raise Barca directors just didn't listen as they never thought he could actually leave.. They got what they deserve. With that said Figo was always one to profit from every possible situation, but he always gave his best at every club he played.

You forgot to mention 2 facts:
    - Figo, on the last seasons in Barça, was named Captain allways in absence of guardiola or luis enrique, wich was common duo to the age of both.
    - Before making a deal with Florentino, FIgo pressured Barça's president to make a new contract. At that time he was payed way fewer than Rivaldo and thought he's importance on the club deserved more credibility by the president. Besides being captain he was the playmaker of Barça at that time.
I suspect Figo revealed the intentions of Florentino to Barça staff to put even more pressure to make a new contract with Barça.
I was also think Barça's president didn't believe Figo would go "crazy mode" and become a traitor to Barça fans(he was the damn captain), so he didn't sign a new contract.
Yes, Luis Figo betrayed Barça fans, but the fault is not only on his shoulders. Barcelona's president is also guilty.
Anyway very nice video, and very nice channel. Subscribed

I think Figo is fully a victim in this story.
A victim to his agent, who signed and advised hkm on the contract, making figo believe it would be impossible for Perez to win.
A victim of Florentino Perez, who was 100 times smarter than Figo and His agent, and outplayed them masterfully.
A victim of Barcelona's president who thought he wasn't worth the 19 million.

mindo61600 in away he kinda did. He risked his name at Barca risked his career there and obvious decent to get money (whether a new contract or or the 1.9 mill). Plus the things he said when he got transferred was terrible. Like saying he dreamed of playing in the bernabou, or saying he came to win titles.
Ps I am unbiase i don't support neither team

Conal Quinn I actually prefer the current Ronaldo from the previous Man United Ronaldo. The old Ronaldo was a ball hog who dribbles too much. While the current Ronaldo would actually pass the ball to his team mates to score a goal. I'm glad we that we already got a mature and efficient Ronaldo who is now a team player. He doesn't have to score all the goals every time. The most important thing is he plays well for Real Madrid to win the game. The Bernabéu appreciates technical plays, but hates ball hogs that dribbles too much. I'm glad Isco already got that excessive dribbling out of his system. He's now a much improved player now that he goes for those quick efficient passes.

This channel is insane... Keep it up! I would love for you to talk about why FC Internazionale went from the best to mediocre. The whole saga about Massimo Moratti leaving and Erick Thohir taking over the club. Inter having won the UCL in 2010, suddenly doesn't make the top 5 anymore.. After José's success years, they have had Rafa Benitez, Leonardo, Stramaccioni and Mancini again. What happened?! And having players who are fairly unknown (don't mean it in a bad way). That would be interesting! Same goes to their arch rival, AC Milan. Once again, great work!

Excellent video, I think this was THE transfer that change all transfers in Footbali. After Figo, the transfers fees and players paychecks just sky rocket. At the time the amounts where insane, and everyone think that Real will ended up bankrupt. But the money they make was so insane, that clubs realize they could spend a lot more money. Figo went out because Barça never tought that Real ever buy Figo, and tought that Figo was bluffing.
