@@hrishikeshchavhan712 facts. Real Madrid benefited more from CR7 and Zidane then they did. Their success and identity is intrinsically linked los blancos.
Beckham played in Manchester, Madrid, Paris and LA and none of those clubs can really claim him. He had HUGE success at Man Utd but his time at Manchester is defined by the frenzied media coverage due the nascent celeb culture in UK being obsessed with his relationship with a Spice girl.
I'd say his time playing for England was the only time he really was considered by his footballing contribution. He gave more to England than he got... He was beloved as a footballer when he wore the national jersey and not celeb debacle.
Not surprising when he himself said playing and captaining England was his greatest achievement above his titles with numerous titles with Man Utd or his mega move to Real Madrid.
His passion at the national level where he would debut various hairstyles that would be copied in every primary school and his performances like against Greece made him loved in England. Glenn hoddle dropped for the first two games of France 98 then told the media it was because Beckham was not concentrating then Becks played the third game scored a banging freekick to secure a place in the last 16. The next game was against Argentina where he got a red card for 'fouling' Diego Simeone and England were knocked out. He received crazy amount of abuse and media ridicule. He bounced back became England captain and in 2001 was the biggest reason England qualified for the Japan/Korea WC. It was these comebacks and commitment to the national team despite the abuse that made him beloved because he didn't need England he was richer than the whole squad.
However at club level it was always meh..

Buuut, he is the reason why clubs started touring in Asia and North America, which brought so much money to the clubs. All that media frenzy helped lift the Premier League and generate significantly more revenue not only for ManU, but for all Prem teams. Beckham was a pioneer of modern football and paved the way for footballers to be more than just athletes and become businessmen and brands themselves. What a legend!

But the Beckham brand didn't help Real Madrid much, outside football maybe, but in the pitch no way. You find him underrated because you watch him curve the ball, that's it, only crosses and passes. Apart from that he had nothing, Raul was better than Beckham. Also clubs like Real Madrid don't need a brand, the kind of football they play makes them a brand. How many people would have started watching AC Milan when Beckham joined them? Pretty sure a lot less than Juventus when CR7 joined them.

Haaland going to Man City has nothing to do with image rights and everything to do with the Madrid situation. When haaland decided to move, Real were pursuing Mbappe completely and already had an in form world class ballon d’or winner in Benzema playing in that role. He has a 4 year contract with City so whoever wants him would have to use the release clause which is probably like $200 or so something even Madrid would be hesitant to pay in lump sum. That said, Haaland said he wants to prove himself in every top league, so whenever he goes to La Liga he'll still probably end up in Madrid by simple virtue of there being no one else who can really pay for his wages.

Btw the only reason why Madrid stepped away from signing Galácticos is because Perez soon understood that there is no way anyone can compete against oil money. And at the same time the oil and foreign investment money was creating a huge bubble in football transfers making every player hyper expensive. Hence they switched formulas and since 2015 , they decided to invest in young players. And this strategy worked amazing for them. They won last champions league with a goal scored by Vini jr (bought when he was 16) and assisted by fede Valverde (bought when he was 18).
There is a Tifo football video explaining this. You can say whatever you want but Perez is a genius.

Okay, nobody seems to mention this, so here we go.
PSG pays Mbappe €636 million gross without bonuses over 3 years + he reportedly has a say in how the club is run. Also, PSG's entire YEARLY revenue in 2020-2021 was less than this: €556. They forecast around €700 million in revenue for 2022-2023.
In contrast, Real Madrid's highest-paid player is Eden Hazard atm, earning about €160 over 5 years. Real forecast a €769.6 million revenue for the 2022-2023 season and constantly ranked in the top 3 football clubs with the highest revenue in the last 10 years.
Like this year, around 30% of PSG's revenue is Mbappe's salary.

I will leave it up to you all to decide how big a part this played in him not signing for Real Madrid.

It is widely reported Mbappe was granted full control of his image rights by Madrid, but PSG offered him a much higher salary and control over the club’s transfer policy.

Resulting in less game time and exposure for all. They did the perfect job not to join RMA as now we can see them being the main man at their respective clubs rather than one being benched to make room for other. There was no room for Haaland on this squad with Benzema playing himself to a BdO award. Meanwhile Mbappe's rights certainly played a role but even reduced rights at Madrid have a bigger sway than at PSG. He just had insane national pressure to stay and an even bigger upfront salary, highly doubt it's any kind of long-term indictment of Madrid as they'll always have top level draw power for players.

According to the reports Mbappe and Madrid was in full agreement with the splitting of imagine rights, what the amount was is uncertain. The reality is he used Madrid name to get lucrative deal with PSG and was persuaded to stay by influential people in France. Everyone knows countries like Qatar and Saudi Arabia loves to waste ridiculous money. Therefore that imagine rights deals still exist in Madrid. The irony is he would still earn more money in the long run if he came to Madrid. Not only would he be exposed to largest fanbase in the world and biggest sponsorship deal which Madrid has, but also the amount of bonuses he would be receiving winning major trophies, never mind the sporting legacy. Ronaldo today earns 40 mil annually from his Instagram account alone. His popularity skyrocketed when he came to Madrid, go figure.

Amazon threatened Ligue 1 with terminating their broadcasting deal. Former french president who owns significant real estate in Paris also called him and his mother. The emir of Qatar also personally spoke to him.

It's true, that "giving up image rights" isn't the way to attract "already superstars" in modern european football to sign for your club - because the most of the money of these "already superstars" is *already* from their image rights before their transfer to a big UCL Club...
Football is changing as it's played.
But Real Madrid got it: They changed their signing strategy & build there future on teenagers most under 18 I think...
Real Madrid don't sign superstars any more, they try to create them as you can hope for Vinicius, Endrick, Camavinga and so on...
With Messi, Ronaldo, Modric, Benzema, Bale, Suarez ... A Generation slowly says "good bye", but I see the new age of football: Mappe, Haaland, Pedri, Musiala and of cause my boy from Hertha BSC Derry! (I believe in you)
PS.: We need a video about the upcoming clup world cup tournament, will al Nassr stock up their squad strong enough until 2025 that they (or other clubs around the world outside of europe) are competitiv with Europes elite, so "Does the upcoming Club World Cup Tournament 2025 offer the World a realistic chance that high-class club football can become more globale - or will the Champions-League-Title continue to be the ultimate trophy in club football?"

When that brand brings in the money, the talent recognizes their value and their price go up aswell, simply because they are the competition, but they need each other imo. Players may follow the same rules in the field but not all are equal in terms of brands, some need to make a crazy amount so the rest could have a voice over their own value.

Commercial income is now the main driving factor for the super league! as the Premier League is boosted with sky and other Commercial revenues; teams like Barc, Juve, RM fear that they will not be able to compete with the might of PM teams, in which even bottom relegation teams can spend more than $100M on players..

And it's not fair clubs should only be able to spend what they earn even in the case of madrid or Barcelona they spend what they earn if you look at city PSG
Arsenal Chelsea etc surely they spend more than they earn

A big problem is that La Liga has become a footballing backwater with 2 enormous clubs and the rest trying to catch up. The TV money isn't shared out so the big clubs - Madrid and Barsa - take most of it, Some clubs in the Spanish 1st Division have problems even paying their players and keeping the club afloat. Big clubs like Valencia and Athletic Club de Bilbao will never get back the power they once had and will find it difficult to attract and keep top players. So games for Madrid tend to be glorified training sessions. It's not quite like the situation in Scotland, but it's getting there, which is why Florentino and the Barsa board are so keen to have a super league.

For me the Real Madrid brand still stands stronger compared to the player's. If Mbappe or Haaland were at Madrid I would be at least twice more hyped for them.

Why would World Cup Champion Mbappe go to Real just to experience spanish racism every game?
Why would Goal scoring machine Halland go to Real this early in his career just to lose 50% of his brand deals?
      Make it make sense Pedro?!
