I bought my wedding dress in a thrift store. It was perfect. It cost about $3.98 %+ tax (circa 1998). Took it home, washed it and ironed it and it was gorgeous. Someone had made it and it was a perfect fit. Also, it was a classical gown with lace and silk taffeta folds. It took forever to iron but so worthwhile. Still happily married today, many years later. Life is expensive and spending a fortune for me was imprudent. Thanks be to God in Heaven were still standing strong today.
My whole wedding cost less than $3000 at a time when most people were spending $15,000-$20,000 . 29 years later I'm still happily married but many of the people I knew who had expensive weddings were divorced within 5 years.
Good for you, I bet you looked beautiful! I personally thought the dresses on the show were ugly and def. not worth what they paid for them. I liked your price much better :)
I celebrated my 56th wedding anniversary yesterday. I made my own wedding dress and one for my maid of honor and my younger sister. My parents hosted our 60+ guests at our small home in southern Ireland and we had the most wonderful day with family and close friends. Thankfully it was a beautiful summer day and we had the meal outside in my Mum's lovely garden.
I googled what happened to Kashmir and Tim, and found out he later had 2 tumors that merged together. He collapsed in 2018, had surgery and was thankfully successful. It was still an uphill battle as the article i saw mentioned he had major behavioral changes (more aggressive etc) due to the surgery (unsure) and some medication. He was discharged by his neuropsychiatrist in 2021, and the article showed a picture of the happy looking couple from 2022! Hope they’re still together now, and happy he survived.
My parents spent a fortune on my custom gown. I had fittings in New York City for months. It was a beautiful gown with a custom vail. Unfortunately I left him after 2 years. Fast forward to my 2nd wedding I was smart this time around. I rented the dress.

Jordan spent a lot of money on a dress that was not unusual or stunning. The painting is lovely Tim should have a painting of himself what he looked like on his wedding day.
Just like Caroline said, it's all just relative! Every wedding has a cost no matter what! And they are very similar to each other in what's going to be included, such as: wedding dress, venue, flowers, food, etc! And they pay people for their services that they're involved in with the money they've worked very hard to earn! Yes, some make more than others, but it doesn't diminish the excitement and happiness and special feelings of the day!

I may be out of line, yet seriously over $200,000? All for a piece of paper and guests. No. I like the idea of standing under a tree, saying loving words to each other, exchanging SIMPLE rings, then go off for a BBQ at a friends home. Weddings have gone way way way too off kilter.
I suppose in a world that is the reality of few, why not be extravagant, right? But, all I can think of is the millions of people who have no food, shelter, health care, transportation and more. Perhaps these extremely wealthy people are benevolent and share their money with those in need and donate to good causes. But, despite the fact that most of these brides came from 'old money' , I still find the opulence sort of disgusting and, actually, sort of sad. All that aside, I agree w everyone who said the dresses looked no different than the ones a person might usually buy. I will say though...almost every one of those gowns were incredibly classy (and the designer/creator is extremely skilled (and patient).
I guess I feel sorry for myself. We can't even afford food. I don't want to leave a nasty comment though, I'm glad they can afford the finer things in life.❤

I spent less then what they spend on breakfast. I couldn't even imagine spending that kind of money on anything that I don't get to keep and use for a long time.
I can understand wanting to go all out on your wedding, it’s the one day of your life where you and your partner are the centre of attention. I love the idea of balls and such but I never got to have a prom or a sweet sixteen or anything like that and I never will have another opportunity to go to such an event so I want to make my wedding count. There will never be another point in my life where I can wear a ballgown. But saying that, these are excessive. They’re at the point of spending money just so they can say they spent money and it’s not really making much of a difference. They’re not doing big expensive weddings because it’s what they would like, they’re doing it because they want to show off. They could save money on things but they don’t want to do that because they want an impressive price tag on the event.
It's none of my concern what people spend their money on, but damn the brides here are so shallow and materialistic! Their attitudes were just so distasteful , repulsive even. I found myself cringing a lot while watching this.

The painting tho..... 😆
I remember when she had a shop in leeds on the headrow moved from there n went london
These strapless dresses all.look alike regardless cheap or expensive. Sttapless dresses are shockers time to move on
That's sweet....Katie let Adams boyfriend come to her wedding.
It is obvious this people have never understood Solomon's letter to the world, but one day they will do
I may be out of line, yet seriously over $200,000? All for a piece of paper and guests. No. I like the idea of standing under a tree, saying loving words to each other, exchanging SIMPLE rings, then go off for a BBQ at a friends home. Weddings have gone way way way too off kilter.
Money does not equal good taste.
I don't want to leave a nasty comment though, I'm glad they can afford the finer things in life.❤
Beautifull wedding dress...Its wonderful to be rich....
Demelza Children's Hospice has a wedding dress shop ..That "All right Mummy ..Jordan says it all ..😱🤦♀️"I am thinking is this some sort of commercial..🙏🙏Save me from all this stress .
I've had so many "text-es'....!? The woman doesn't know the plural of the word 'text'. Money doesn't mean you can;t still be stupid.
I would've said no to the crystal belt...it looked like a glittery tramp stamp.
Alicante is not in the South of Spain!, It is in the East and belongs to the Valencian community.
I spent less then what they spend on breakfast. I couldn't even imagine spending that kind of money on anything that I don't get to keep and use for a long time.
Wish her hair was longer for portrait just Bea😢
Sobbing at a portrait....of....yourself??
I want a luxaury wedding
I’ve seen so many dresses. You can get beautiful dresses for a lot less that almost look the same if not exactly the same
Love frm South Africa toKashmir n her husband...i saw thereveal on tv here ..stunning portrait..❤😊🎉
Didn't Catherine's parents reportedly spend 250,000 GBP for her 2 wedding gowns?
They all seem to be having the same hairdresser.......
This is what you call focusing on the wedding instead of the marriage. And it’s a bit sad.
