Got to get atleast two of these kits.... So sad I don't have my 78 Bronco any more it was a great truck! Way better than the later version and more comfortable than the early version. The. 78/79 were based on the F series trucks 351M/400 engines and C6 transmissions with a cast iron transfer case all gear driven these trucks were tough and dead on reliable and are sought after today.
I had a 1978 Ford F150. I bought it new. It was the biggest piece of JUNK I have ever owned! I use to think of how I could drive this pick-up into a brick wall at 70mph and survive. It was a very happy day when I finally sold it. FORD= Fix Or Repair Daily. Mine proved that saying!
I drive a 1978 Ford Bronco and awhile ago I looked for a 78 bronco model kit but only found the 78 F350 by AMT and built that!! Your video just revealed the existence of this thing to me thank you so much I love you
A little tip for the kit-bashing crowd. Don't throw away that piece of X plastic support on the body. Those pieces of styrene come in handy for future projects. They can be used for all kinds of frame and chassis rails - rat rod customizing - even big rig supports and structures. Don't limit your imagination ! !
The 78 Bronco is my favorite as it's the last year of the round headlights. The rectangular headlights were available as an option for the XLT trim package, and the only option for 79-80 and beyond. The XLT trim was popular and this same mold could be used for a 79 so I don't blame them for not using the round headlights. Perhaps I will be able to adapt an earlier grill to get the round headlights I want. Which means making a Mobius kit marry an AMT. Anyway... great build as always, Chris, and thanks for getting my brain obsessed about finally being able to build my dream 78.
Wow Chris I love your Wild Hoss 78 Bronco! Those are the first of the full size Broncos! I've built several of Revell Monogram's 1980-81 Broncos and I'm glad that AMT is bringing this one back! Love that Hunter Green with those decals!
That looks gorgeous. That color you picked for the decals is fantastic. In 1987 a friend/co-worker had bought a '79 Bronco from a guy that took extremely good care of it. Garage kept. His was red and white. It to had the brush guard, tan interior with the same rims and even the same spare tire cover.
You are really good with the decades 👏 . Especially the boat when it was coming off all twisted but you always get them straight. Great choice with the colors too.
I'm glad too, that the classic kits are coming back!! Just wish there were more decals for the interior and engine bay. Thanks again for the nice video and kit preview. 👉Build on!!👈
I enjoy your videos, you make it look so easy, while producing fantastic results. I remember buying these kits in the early 80s for around $7 Cdn,,,,they were definitely one of the nicer kits from that era. I haven't bought any reissues, but about 10 or so years ago found an original kit and started on it. Since then the hood has gone missing and the windshield broke, but now with the re-releases I'm sure I can find those parts and finish mine after all these years.
The color you've chosen reminds me of one I used to see about 30 years ago that a watersports operator used to pull a jet ski. It was two tone green and white.
I love watching your videos usually while I’m working on my own kit😁 love your playlist, right up my alley when building👍 thank you for inspiring my builds…keep on keepin on🤪
That is a great kit. I think that is the same shape as our Aussie 1978 Bronco. We still had the 351 Cleveland ( model is the 351 M ) and a 4 barrel too. They were pretty popular and worth big $$$$ now.
For the focus issue, I noticed there are often black spots/dots on the upper right corner… it looks like there are paint residuals on the lamp, some kind of dry droplets 😊
Ok Chris I have a question for you I just got the wild hogs bronco for Christmas I noticed that you were using some kind of liquid before you put the decals on the beast can you tell me what you used you did a great job my friend
I prefer the Chevy K5 Blazer from the same year, in 2 tone red and white. Although they both look very similar. When it comes to Broncos, I prefer the first gen model (hint hint). The current gen version in 2 door is also pretty cool.
I have recently started to build models again, I used to do it as a kid, and I have found that this hobby, as an adult is quite relaxing. I appreciate watching these videos. They help me with painting techniques and to see how you take your approach to your model. I did have a question on the chrome wheels. Were you using a black wash to give it a more realistic Chrome look?
Looks like a nice kit, excellent video. I am curious if the grille would fit the AMT Superstones Ford pickup. (I believe the O.J. version Bronco had A/C )
There is an aftermarket decal sheet available for the orange Free Wheeling markings that has all the exterior emblems and a lot of interior and under hood detail. It is produced in the Netherlands 🇳🇱
What kind of Glue do you use which gives you an almost Instant Bond???? I have had some Success with the glues I have been purchasing, even the Tamiya Lime green Top CA glue. But nothing as Quick as what I see you using in your Builds. ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. Another Great Build as usual. Thanks !!!
now IF AMT would put that chrome tree and tailights in the 78 ford firestone truck kit that would be awesome, and do a normal bed instead of the super camper special, then fix the totally wrong underhood fenders they would have a great kit , as it sits the boss hoss has a more correct underhood detail that covers the inner fenders, then you have to use the mobeius 67-72 firewall to fix the gross errors, the bed is a mess and you have to use the 80-96 inner from Monogram then relocate the wheel well cutouts, and use the mobeius frame, then do a kitbash to fix the errors of 4x4 suspension, CHRIS your build is excellent, im only pointing out the problems with the AMT 78 ford truck
I've been waiting for this kit for a long time. The gibberish state plate is odd, don't know what they were thinking there. The engine is a 351 or 400 M, a different series from the Windsor or the Cleveland, though it looks similar to the Cleveland. These were the only two engines available in the '78-'79 Broncos.
I had a 79 Bronco when I was younger. Loved it. It ended up on 18-44’s with a 460. Got over 500 hp out of the old 200 hp big block. She was a blast to own. So I bought this model and I’m going to attempt to match mine from 1979. Having an issue with parts 26 and 27 in the second section. I can’t figure out how they go. Can anyone help?
Thanks Chris this is one kit I have never built really appreciate the review.awesome job on the build.will not pass on it this time.looks like a great kit.peace
I'm not sure why those mirrors are labeld as Western Mirrors when they are factory Ford truck mirrors. West Coast Mirrors look like semi truck mirrors and they mount above and below the window like on a semi.
Chris, I think I will have a great solution for all those small details that you are asking for that the Round2 decals lack. Drop me a message for details.

dad had a 79 Bronco, 400M manual trans. Was a beast.
Had a 79, best truck I ever had

Can't like you videos enough. You've made modeling way more enjoyable to me.
Glad you like them!
I own a 1/1 scale '78 Ford Bronco.
I drive a 1978 Ford Bronco and awhile ago I looked for a 78 bronco model kit but only found the 78 F350 by AMT and built that!! Your video just revealed the existence of this thing to me thank you so much I love you
Dash decals!!! You get em Chris! I loved the show.
Another great build! Dad had a 78 Ford Bronco. Gonna get this one to build and paint it up just like his.
A little tip for the kit-bashing crowd. Don't throw away that piece of X plastic support on the body. Those pieces of styrene come in handy for future projects.

My brothers shake there heads that I save a lot of part trees and body supports. I tell 'em unless they're really into it they'll never understand.
Heck I built a trailer hitch out of part of the tree
i would really like to see a tour/ tutorial of your workspace and all the tools you use.
Great build I can't wait for this kit. They need to reissue some more vintage kits like this one.

I'll be trying my best to make the round headlights for my build too.
it is a 79. the 78's didn't have a cat
Can't wait to get this one!!
That is a great kit, can be built in sooooo many different ways!! 👍👍
Great build, one of my favorite body styles of Ford Broncos😊❤👍
I hope that a 1990s Bronco gets reissued eventually, because one of my dream builds is the OJ car.

Superbe maquette je suis fan de votre travail 👍
Nice.
Now it's time to get two of them..
I hope they bring back out the early 1980s Bronco.
Love the name! I put that on my license plate. Wife was NOT pleased 😀
Just picked up this and the Supra kit at HL......can't wait to start them!
great choice, green on green looks awesome.
Great build Chris I'm glad they're bringing back some classic stuff
I'm glad too, that the classic kits are coming back!! Just wish there were more decals for the interior and engine bay. Thanks again for the nice video and kit preview.
👉Build on!!👈
Great job, I recently built the 1972 Chevy Blazer Crew Chief. You did an unboxing of this model kit a few years ago.
The green you painted looks much better than the blue on the box. It works much better with those decals.
I'm not s Ford guy except for older models. Nice job 👌
Nice job really like the older kits
These videos help out big time!
Built this in the early eighties can’t wait to have another go at it , great build Chris
sweet build!! I want this one! would look great all muddy 😊😊
I love this. Especially the colour and decals. I have the original issue.

Good choice of color - it all works together. Thanks again.

I need a few of these. Love the green paint with those stripes
Want to build my dream truck with a mobius 300 six
That is a great kit. I think that is the same shape as our Aussie 1978 Bronco.
We still had the 351 Cleveland ( model is the 351 M ) and a 4 barrel too. They were pretty popular and worth big $$$$ now.
Nicely done! I seem to remember this also being issued as a Firestone edition w red graphics??!
Looks awesome. I love Broncos.
For the focus issue, I noticed there are often black spots/dots on the upper right corner… it looks like there are paint residuals on the lamp, some kind of dry droplets 😊
Nice build sir! Have one from years ago and also won the kit from a online auction.
Another classic build mate👍
Do you sand the mold lines off the bodies before priming?
I didn't care for the green decals at first but they kinda grew on me.
Ok Chris I have a question for you I just got the wild hogs bronco for Christmas I noticed that you were using some kind of liquid before you put the decals on the beast can you tell me what you used you did a great job my friend

Awesome build!! I love it!! Such an amazing work!!
Hi just like to add that in my research the decals that are yellow, gold, orange are for the 78 Bronco Free Wheelin package.Cheers
Really nice work, the smaller silver pen was that a Bic marker. Sorry I couldn't see it very good. But nice as always.

Beautiful.
I'm back building after 7 years. I'm looking for a ultrasonic cleaner large enough for model bodies. I NEED cheep. Any help????? Love your videos!
Yeah. That reminds me, I was wondering if you still use Simple Green to clean the parts before you build? I've seen you do it in your earlier videos.
And how many cleanings can you get out of a bottle?
@@kennyspaulding796 I just bought a gallon. I don't know. I was hoping Chris could answer these questions.
@@richardbennett8678 oops. Actually I meant to ask Chris, I just forgot to address him 😆.
The sharpie you used, is that a paint sharpie or regular one?
Plain ole regular ones.
i can't wait to get mine, probably gonna do it in red
great looking model
What paint do you use? Cause I tried out enamel spray for hobby things and it worked like crap so I was wondering what you used?
Oooo I need that one!
Awesome Build. I just bought this kit. I am just getting into modeling. What Brand of Glue do you use ?
Thank You for your time.
Chris+ another great build love the color combination keep up the great work
Have to get one those
Nice review, don't you love when people call it a cadillac convertor, haha kills me every time
Nice to see your videos. They make my day every Time.
What is that that you're putting under and over the decals?
Hot tap water with a drop of dish soap in this case.
For complex curves and decals I'll use decal solvent.
@@hpiguy Thank you for the quick response!!
A friend asked, What glue are you using with the brush applicator? Great build Chris.

It looks like a great kit. Great build with awesome color choices. It looks awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Chris what's with the music sounds like pink panther cartoon music☺️
