Sweet build. The Red gives it a really nice look. As a modeler it doesn't matter to me what you do to any of your builds... it's yours. And no one can take away your satisfaction.
I absoloutely love truck/minitruck model kits. I just picked this one up myself at my local Ollie's. My dad had one of these D50s and while slow, I really liked driving it. I think I'll build mine as a period-correct lowered sporttruck complete with wild paintjob with crazy graphics. Fender flares, subwoofers, the works.
I miss my 87 Dodge Ram 50.It was my first vehicle back when I was 17. You couldn't kill the motor. It confused alot of my friends because it had Mitsubishi markings everywhere hahah.
Another sweet video... Thank you 🙂 Love those 80's mini pick-um-up-trucks... I had a cool white 88' Toyota Tacoma -4cyl. w/ EFI ✌😎 ( added a beautiful fiberglass cap )
Love the kit, the build and the music. Once again you nailed the colors. I was wondering why you don't include a "back story" with the builds anymore? I really enjoyed it. It really adds to the video and build. Again Chris 👍👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I was looking forward to this one! Haven't seen one of these early Mitsubishi L200s - that's what I know them as - in real life for years! This also goes nicely with the Chevy LUV and Ford Courier you'd have built a while back. Loving those crates of Coke as well.
I knew some fellars that had one of them back in the day, not bad for a little truck, although they could’ve put a better engine in them instead of that Mitsubishi 4 cylinder, they put those damn engines in a lot of vehicles, Chrysler did, geez, if you put 70k-75k miles on them, that engine was wore slap out, I’d like to seen someone drop a smallblock MOPAR down in one, I’m sure somebody did one time or another. Or at least a MOPAR V6 of some kind. Haha, that Mitsubishi 4 cylinder was like the old GM Quad4, JUNK!!!! Regardless, nice job Chris, as always, very cool little truck! I like the truck, I just don’t care much about the Mitsubishi 4 banger, now with a turbo it might be alright, Idk 🤷♂️? I guess you could get a V6 in one but all the ones I’ve seen had that 4 banger. Oh well, anywho, very cool buddy!
I’ve been watching your videos for quite some time and the models I’ve made witch are only 3 and they are armor so can I see you build a tamyia 1/35 M41A1 walker bulldog
pre decals,,, looks just like an 85 i used to survice, underhood, excellent, like the light tan looks better than the medium gray, they also had red interiors, my brother had red interior in his
I had a ‘75 Dodge Colt (Mitsubishi). It was front drive so the engine was aligned 90 degrees to your engine but it was as devoid of any fancy hoses and such - it was as simple as you be for a 70’s vehicle. You could literally sit on the fender and work inside the engine bay. You wouldn’t knock anything out of place.
I really need these videos every now and then. I tend to overthink my brush work and forget not every line needs to be absolutely perfect to look good.
I like the build. The truck came out looking very nice - it's literally in the details. Only one issue, you didn't mention how long it takes to empty all those Coke bottles - wah wah. Thanks again, Chris, I'm set for a fine Saturday now.
I built many of these D50s back in the day From normal 2wd to 4x4 to even the version with 1/20 scale tires I gotta get this kit for my coca cola collection It even has a turbo option
I built one of these eons ago and remember I painted it orange and put a Chevy 350 in it. It might have been the first release. The Mitsubishi version was called the Mighty Max.
You have probably answered this question several times - Just out of curiosity - how long have you found that modpodge holds the windshields and such in place? Have you found the inserts falling out after Ie: a decade or have you never had a problem with it releasing the windshields and such?
I haven't really checked after a decade but to date nothing has fallen out. Artists use Mod Podge on paintings and decorations for decades and I haven't heard of stuff falling off their work.
Not interested in one for my collection, but I really enjoyed watching you build it. Would love to get some of those clear green cases with the decals thow.
Chris, was that Krylon Red Pepper that you used? What brand of grey primer was used for that as well? Nice build by the way. I think that truck would look just as cool without all of the Coke logos on it. Great Job!
@@hpiguy Somehow I missed that. I knew that you showed the sprays used and, well there must have been some dust in my eyes or something at that point in the video.
Sweet build. The Red gives it a really nice look. As a modeler it doesn't matter to me what you do to any of your builds... it's yours. And no one can take away your satisfaction.
I will have to put a tow ball on it and throw one of my home made trailers on it. That stock bumper will do nicely for that add on.
My first vehicle was a 79 plymouth arrow. The plymouth version of the d50.
Might have to get one now. My local Walmart finally started carrying kits and I saw it on the shelf......now I'm going back.
Great build! And very nice to hear some Bomba in there! Greeting from Puerto Rico!! 🇵🇷
Great build. I find it relaxing to watch you build and I get some great tips along the way. Thanks so much.
Big mini pickup fan here! I would love to see a 89 Ford Ranger model and a 99 Tacoma model one day! Great video love the mini pickups!
That is definitely a nice truck. Looking forward to upcoming ones

That is one HECK of a Dodge D50! I love the way you went with it! Thanks for keeping the hobby fun Chris!
Thanks 👍
Nice build as usual! Probably get one when they come out.
When does it come to stores?
No clue. With Round2 maybe 2 months.
awesome kit.!!!
Perfect choice of finish to build Chris. It's not even listed on Scalemates yet!
Very nice to see this kit back in production. The cases of coke bottles is a sweet addition to the kit.
Cool kit!!!!
I like watching your videos I just got back into building models and learning special techniques on the models great job
Glad you like them!
I remember this kit from the early 80s. So many around and I didn't buy it! Now I cannot wait when it becomes available! Great build.
I miss my 87 Dodge Ram 50.It was my first vehicle back when I was 17. You couldn't kill the motor. It confused alot of my friends because it had Mitsubishi markings everywhere hahah.
So did the Dodge Omni.
Nice build as usual- reminds me of my Datsun p.u. that was issued to me by my employer
Thanks, if you like Datsuns, stay tuned for today's build. :)
Great looking build Chris! Thanks for the review, Chris is it!! Love it.
"Stockish" the perfect term for the chrome wagon wheels. 😂
Thank you so much. Great model and a great build. I will have to pick one up. Thanks for sharing.
very Nice kit. The D50 is a Mitsubishi rebranded as a Dodge for the American market. One more kit to buy 🙂
Sweet little Dodge mini pickup with coke livery, well done Chris!
Definitely going to get me one of those kits but Imma take these 67 AMT Chevelle and use the parts from that to make it a little Drag Truck
The music choices are always funny
I picked up 2 of these bad boys. That's pretty smart, Chris...the rubber hose on your vice grips
Yet another one out of the park Chris fantastic amazing work
I really enjoy your videos! Thanks!
Always like the coke vehicles you do. Nice build, as always.
Had the same problem with the tires but I somehow fit em on
Man I can only imagine all the leftover waterslide decals from all the model kit builds .
Nice build - I’ve really not considered building any of the “Coke” series of kits but you make it seem so fun.
Awesome work 👏 👌 👍
Very cool! Will want to pick up a couple!!
You should!
That’s a nice Model kit.
Hey man great idea on the modpodge headlights seriously great idea!
Thanks!
Another sweet video... Thank you 🙂

Another great build Chris, loved the music playing when you were putting the front end together 😎
Thanks 👍
Great video as always. Thank you.

Very nice simple build. I love how everything fits together. Great work. Thanks for sharing.

Looks really good!

Great job as usual Chris 👍

Its not the kind of kit we get in the uk but it sure looks real nice, a well deserved 10 out of 10 for it 🙂
Cool

Super 👌 slick 👌!!

Great build Chris. Those effects are supercool.
Cramming a hemi in mine!

Super build Chris. By the way I'm now broke buying all those great kits you demo. lol
Nice job! Red is usually a hard color to paint with. You make it look effortless!
Also scored this at Ollie's, gonna do also slammed "street racer" look with the coke theme
Good video as usual. I think I would of raided my parts box and found some wheel tubs and a modern Hemi and Pro Streeted it. 😆
where can iget the mod podge?
Hobby Lobby is where I got mine but I think I've seen it at Walmart in the arts and crafts section.
Whats that?

we used 1982 d50 trucks to patrol around nuclear weapons storage areas and alert B-52 with nuclear payloads .
Have you ever made the Paul Revere and the Raiders car.
No, but I do own an older boxing of it. Maybe they will reissue it so I can review it.
@@hpiguy Ask Round2 they sell the AMT reissue.
Awesome work as always Chris videos great techniques thanks again sir been awhile since I've been on working a lot

Nice work, BUT!!! What color are the bottle caps on the Coke bottles? Are these all empties?
The music is so much more dramatic in 1.5 speed while you glue.

Yes, it was Krylon, each paint session has a picture of all the sprays used to help at the beginning or end of the spray session.
Thanks!
@@hpiguy Somehow I missed that. I knew that you showed the sprays used and, well there must have been some dust in my eyes or something at that point in the video.
good job Chris.some day it would be nice to see all your collection ove models.that you have built.
Nice build! Do you find that the black Sharpie has a purplish hue to it after it’s applied?
Depending on the color under it. I go over it a couple times to darken it.
does anyone know a place to get replacement logos for this that are Diet Coke?
Yep, it was Mitsubishi that Chrysler worked with on these little trucks.
Still no 4x4. I'll pass until they bring it back
This was my first truck, always wanted to put a 4.3 V6 in it. Cool truck but a CRAPPY clutch cable system. Cool build man!
everything went well on this one for me until assembly. the interior tub didnt fit quite right which causes the chassis to not fit up right
Nice bill can you send me one
Nice billd. Can you also send me a mastertruck if you can with that car please
