Not on social media for more than a year now, but here I am, on RUclips, still learning more about ways to protect myself, provided by algorithm designed to target me, finding a way to help me combat it :D Thank you for solid content ❤
I went on a date once, and the lady was baffled she couldn't find much about me. That's intentional I mentioned. However, early vetting trust has become solidified in finding out as much as possible online, before deeply engaging more than once with them these days. The absence of that easy find, made me mysterious, at the same time, less trustworthy. Their's a price to privacy pay either way these days.
Very true! Even though privacy may not always be the most convenient choice, it definitely pays off in the end. Whereas, if you're easily accessible online, you're not only exposed to the scrutiny of future dates but also cybercriminals.
The Government needs to make a Law where its only legal for employers or authorized users to be able to make these searches collect data and if youre a child molestor you automatically forfeit this right for privacy
Most of the people know about this...but they don't want to delete their social media no matter what...but your video is informative...n btw now a days i hardly use any social media platform...so to answer your question i can remove myself from social media...
Hi. How do I delete personal stuff that someone else uploaded on a site without my consent? Also, I deleted a LinkedIn account yet it still pops up with a picture in search results on Google. There's no respect for our privacy rights by Google. Google should be sued into bankruptcy.
If submitting a removal form to Google fails, you could contact the website's owner directly. 👀 And LinkedIn might take some time to fully delete your data after you delete your account. They claim that "public profile may be displayed in search engine results until the search engines refresh their cache." Getting your personal data off the internet might be a frustrating and long process since many services don't make it easy for the users... But it's definitely worth it. You're on the right track! 🙏
That's very true, terms and conditions are never easy to read... But, unfortunately, necessary. 😮💨 What do you think could make reading terms and conditions a less torturing activity? 👀
had an old facebook account pop back up after deleting it several years ago, fb wants my drivers license to get in and delete it. Any advice? not giving my ID to fb........
they tricked you to pause the account, option pops out when you are about to click the delete button. Most people don't notice it is actually pause button. Try sending them a photoshopped id
Anybody have ideas about this one? I worked at the polls (voting) in 2020, and received a small check for that. I was required to sign a receipt including my name and address. All of a sudden in 2023, that report is appearing when I google my name. It is published by the state that I live in. They refuse to adjust my address to my PO Box. I don't have a problem if someone googles Campaign Finance Report and finds the report, but I DO have a problem with someone googling my name and finding this report with my exact address. My name & address show up in the google results. I can't seem to get rid of that 1 report. (And I have somplained to the Department of Elections as well as the google site referenced in the video.) How do I delete or bury this information? I am a witness in a major crime and I don't want certain people to find me.
You're not wrong! Interacting with spam emails specifically could potentially lead to more spam. So, when it comes to spam - it's best to mark it as "spam" without opening the actual email. But when it comes to newsletters you subscribe to - it should be safe to unsubscribe and clean up your inbox.
Honestly, it isn't easy to trace back your entire existence online. 👀If you have a lot of accounts on different services - they could be providing more data about you than you may think!
@@Surfshark Tbh I'd like to leave some of it there. It's my very own digital footprint. Sort of like the fossilized footprints left by the dinosaurs of yore. Today they're studied by paleontologists and an object of interest. Proof that, however insignificant, a human being of my likeness once surfed the world wide web. Just as the dinosaurs once walked the world. In a similar vein, I'm not a major proponent for sanitizing history. Omitting parts that are inconvenient for me in favor of only the good. For what it's worth, I'd like to be able to look back and see all the good, the bad, and the ugly in its entirety. Deleting myself completely off the internet seems a step in the direction of sanitization. Eek! Like really. In the end, to each their own 😀
@@oriantalist That is a very cool perspective, thank you for sharing this! You're right - it truly depends on the person. Some prefer convenience over privacy, some like being easily accessible and seen on the internet, and some focus strictly on privacy and security. What we want to do here is to empower everyone so that no matter their choice, they are still informed, aware, cautious, and as secure as they can be. 😊
People treated their privacy as though it was worthless. Why are they complaining? First step is to get rid of FB.
There is once my teacher make us to make video presentation and then being uploaded to his video. I was ask him to delete that but he doesnt.
Or at least control it is what is top priority the least. But if you don’t know how to control your own media, then yes, go ahead and delete it.
FB stand for Federal Bureau. Facebook is top managed by the FBI.
yea I deleted mine a few months ago
I got rid of FB 14 years ago.

Unfortunately most modern women are addicted to social media and they see it as "weird" if you are not online.

These huge companies only declare their data brokers in the fine print.. not a lot of people actually have the time to look through that

Cut to the chase
lol
I don't live online I live on RUclips
Doesn't unsubscribing actually cause more spam because they know it's an active account?

@@Surfshark Thanks for the clarification 👍🏼
I spend a large quantity of time on the internet, yet I have a very insignificant presence on it. Dunno if that is a good or bad thing 😂
