I've used Surfshark for a couple of years and only when I travel. I do not see any need for it when I'm home operating on my own private, password protected Wifi network. For the most part, Surfshark works well in the background. However I will say that I see a lot of sites, particularly state and federal government websites, where I cannot access my account when using Surfshark. I"m so used to this issue that when I encountered a site issue, I immediately assume the source is Surfshark and PAUSE it. Most of the time, this assumption is accurate. If this occurs on a wifi network in a busy public place, it shuts me down completely. I would REALLY like to see this app improved so it works more consistently.

Now, if only Surfshark would fix its app so it does not kill your battery if you let it keep running in the background. Sometimes, I forget to turn off Surfshark on my iPad, and when I get home 12 hours later, my battery goes from 80% to 40%. This only happens because Surfshark is using the battery even in standby mode.

Novice here as I still don't get the logic as many people do lol if I purchase VPN, how does that mask my IP whenever I browse. You mentioned downloading the app. Will the app suddenly recognise my IP and every time I am on the web, it does its thing in the background and masks it? Secondly, I hear VPN allows you to watch movies that are not normally available in certain regions. Again, how does VPN make that happen? Please help this completely clueless folk here guys

Disappointed with ios-surfshark about bypasser. android has features to bypass apps and you can also allow n use vpn only for specific apps. Pretty handy
