if anyone gets to say "fuck off, get out my way" to haters, it's definitely Jimin. This poor man has been dragged through hell and back by his perfect hair for years for breathing air. He didn't hold back, definitely a new side of Jimin he has been waiting to unleash for a long, long, time
Another interpretation is Jimin facing his own inner negative thoughts that he experienced especially during the pandemic. If you notice when autotune is used and when it isn't, it could be him arguing with himself. Its ART, and is open to many interpretations and that is an awesome aspect of BTS's work. I love how he surprised us with the sound and visuals! The creativity is boundless! 💜
@Evelyn you said that cause you don't appreciate music and open minded to all kinds of music. there is literally a story from the song title in his album. just watch DG react on how he breakdown jimin album. If that doesn't open your mind and think differently then I'm gonna assume you're just a mindless hater.
Jimin is the member who gets either the most love or the most hate. He's had death threats against him, people are always commenting about his body and weight and he's just been through alot. So after the pandemic I feel like this song was seriously just a message about being himself and finally not caring about what people say about him. He's telling haters they have no control over him and he's evolved to finally being himself ❤
The words inscribed into the jimins body are from a German poem called "Ich lebe mein Leben in wachsenden Ringen” by Rainer Maria Rilke. This translates to “I live my life in ever-widening circles” in English. And this song also is like a closure to yoongi set me free..💜💜💜💜
Full Poem: Rainer Maria Rilke I live my life in widening circles that reach out across the world. I may not complete this last one but I will give myself to it. I circle around God, around the primordial tower. I’ve been circling for thousands of years and I still don’t know: am I a falcon, a storm, or a great song?
“People who smile the most have the most scars” and that explains him. Honestly, Jimin is the member that faced a lot of hate throughout their early days(it still continues)…and he’s also the one who seemed to beat himself up the most and in my eyes was the one who worked the hardest for where he’s at today(not to downplay the other members) and he came in 6 months before the group officially debuted which is INSANE and that’s why I appreciate every little thing that he puts out there because WOW.❤You must see other members talk about how hard he worked…he was just a dancer when he came in the group and had to learn to sing (Jin also) and was made fun of and look at him now….AMAZING…PLEASE WATCH SUCHWITA(Suga’s program) because they talk about his past struggles
@Evelyn And what if I cry, this proves that I am a human being with a pure sense, not like you, a devil in the form of human beings with blackness inside them
Whole album FACE is about how Jimin felt through pandemic in chronicled order. I would summarize it Face-off confrontation, trying to get rid of traces he doesn't accept in himself. Interlude: Dive dive into dreams Like Crazy escapism, choosing avoiding to see to stay in the dream even if it breaks him. Avoiding to see the reality. Alone continuing the theme, trying to run away, feelings on loneliness. did he possibly woke up from the dream? Set Me Free Pt.2 accepting the true face of himself, confronting himself, getting free. Cant hide himself anymore.
THIS. Thank you for putting into words properly! This album is so much more in depth than it seems and its a story of his past few years. Also As Xen mentioned, please do NOT label Jimin as having an eating disorder. He eats healthy and works out and takes good care of himself. Even if he dieted in the past, it was to temporarily get in shape for their comebacks ... This album is mainly about accepting his TRUE self and facing his INNER DEMONS
You need to see what he said about this song. He said he was going thru hard times during the pandemic. He felt lost was drinking and didn’t want to go to work, depressed and stressed because he wanted to go on concerts and see Armys but he doesn’t feel that way anymore. He missed also the members.💜💜💜
Jimin have gone through a lot.. you guys don't know that . So u can't understand that..he just expressed his raw emotions through this song..so much unnecessary hate because of jealousness of his talents,( he also have lots of good carreer achievements) ,delusional shipping hate, hate from solo stans inside the fandom ( check the comment section u guys will get it for example v and jk' s Stan Evelyn channel is here for her work) and also hate from outside the fandom,so many death threats...( till now he is facing all of that) I guess he receives the most hate out of the whole group..he also aims to perfect himself..he is a perfectionist..so he extremely works hard for that..he was not very much confident in him earlier days eventhough he is very talented in many fields..he doesn't able to appreciate him whole heartedly..his insecure feeling( his haters also one of the reasons to make him feel like that)..since it's an hip hop group he tried to portray himself more manly but he realised that's not him so you can see how he accepted his true self..these are some of his struggles..there are lot more( body shaming, mocking his voice, spreading misinformation about him..so many..the list goes on..setting himself free from all of them..that poor man itself might be wondering what crime did he have done to get this much hate..He doesnt have any blackmark in his career, very humble, very sweet, caring for others, very friendly with everyone, extremely talented,generous,supportive..his haters don't want him to succeed and outshine that's the problem ..they don't need any particular reason to hate him..if he breathe that's a crime to his haters..whole album is very much different and intense ..a whole new side of jimin..vulnerable to bold ..he is breaking many records through this album...so proud of him..another interpretation of his album is that the emotions he have experienced in the pandemic days in a chronological order...set me free is the last part of his album..another interpretation is that he fights with his inner negative thoughts...mostly all of his songs have interpretation elements ..what he exactly meant is personal to him
The writing is a German poem. This song kinda talks about all the faces he’s had to wear to please his fans, his company and just people in general. He struggled with wanting to be perfect all the time and this song kinda embraces all of those faces and he sets himself free. He’s now ready to be the person he wants to be and he doesn’t care how people perceive him anymore. That’s kinda the theme of his all album. He’s facing himself.
I admit that I'm curious about what that's going to mean. Other than swearing and taking off his shirt, I mean. 😅 What aspects of Jimin will we are moving forward that he didn't feel he could share before? I respect him very much as a person and an artist, and I'm sure I'm not going to learn anything about him that will change that. I'm just curious and a bit excited. I love that the members are using their solo albums to let us see more sides of them. 💜
This album has been so... EMOTIONAL for me, for a lack of better words. I just feel so SEEN, and also so proud of him??? As for who he's talking about, Jimin has always been one of the most talked about celebrities in both positive AND negative connotations. Some of the vitriol he gets on an hourly basis..I'm glad for those who don't see it, but hate talk against him does exist, and he's unfortunately had had to experience it himself. It would not be a stretch to say that the vilest shit you'll see about a male celebrity online will be about him. Which hurts so bad, because he's an ANGEL and the NICEST person EVER 😭
"Set Me Free" is a track on SUGA's second mix-tape "D-2". Jimin said in an interview that the two songs aren't directly correlated, but that the themes are similar in that Yoongi's is about being trapped while Jimin's is the second stage of actually being "set free" so he named his "Pt. 2"
Yes, xen, please let ccw know that the words eating disorder was literally never out of his own mouth, that's online armchair psychologists, I swear to God. Jimin has spoken about unhealthy diets, as well as imposter syndrome, bad sleeping habits, being way more angry all the time when he was younger, ambition, fear, less-than-ideal relationships with alcohol..... he shares a lot that he didn't need to, and he also shares his growth. All the time! I hope army's can give him the courtesy to take his words for what they are, a gift of shared experience and empathy, something that sometime can feel comforted by and not as a weapon to mold against bts. Especially jimin doesn't need all that crap
Jimin is the most mysterious person ever. There is literally a video on RUclips analysing his personality and one of the pints in it was that jimin makes you think he’s answered your question but he hasn’t actually. All the other members say in private he is like their hyung and Suga is actually the little one lol but I really love and am in awe of this song. When I first listened to the song it scared me because it was like my fears in a song but now I have embraced it and the rest of the album is epic ❤
I've had an experience where people thought we were really close and didn't realize they knew almost nothing about me. I did it the same way Jimin did, too. I feel connected with him on this. I'm not saying he's doing anything wrong! And neither was I. I don't want to invade his privacy, but I do want him to feel safe and secure in letting us see as much of himself as he wants to share.
@@evantesseract737 I completely agree there is no right or wrong. Glad he is gaining his confidence back and is able to finally express his real self 💜
Jimin said he wrote this when he was feeling lost and depressed. He also explained this whole album is how he was feeling during the pandemic and how he dealt with it. He also said everything he expressed in this album he no longer feels that way. This album helped him overcome all those feelings. Also thank you editor xen for putting that clip in!! People really need to stop saying and spreading this information!! He mentioned 1 time an extreme diet he went on because he thought that was the way to go and it wasn't. He has also said multiple times he is smarter with how he diets. And he is not the only member to have done extreme dieting!! They all have but again they have all learned the proper ways now!!
Suga has a song in his solo album called D-2 that is "Set Me Free". Hence Jimin's song is called Set Me Free pt. 2 And J-hope has a song called "Airplane" in his solo album Hope World. Hence the song BTS has is called Airplane pt. 2
And this song “Set me free pt.2” recently debuting at #30 on billboard hot 100 too. The highest debuting single by a K-Pop soloist in the charts history! 🎉
the autotune was used in an artistically way so i LOVE IT sm, it shows show versatile is jimin !!! HIS ALBUM IS AMAZING IM SO PROUD OF HIM HE IS BREAKING RECORDS LEFT AND RIGHT!! HE ALSO PEAK #1 ON GLOBAL SPOTIFY ❤❤ KEEP STREAMING YALL
jimin has released single songs like “promise” but they were never official until now. And yes every pt 2 song has a part 1 somewhere. Airplane pt 2 goes with jhopes “airplane” from his first solo album.
11:05, y’all’s editor was so real for that. I’ve been an army for 7yrs and it’s always annoyed me how ppl info dump inaccuracies and fan theories onto new armys, altering their perceptions and letting them be swayed by lies/half truths without enough context. People overstep constantly and I can imagine how tiring it is for the guys. They try to be vulnerable and honest with us and it backfires. 😢
The writing on Jimin's body is from a poem by Rainer Maria Rilke: I'm living my life in spiraling gyres. (It’s temporary tattoos) And for the “nevermind” (at the beginning) & the moon (at the end) is his real tattoos.
This is JIMIN'S ERA!!!! I'm so proud of him!!! The heavy hitting trumpets and the choreography plus Jimin's voice was so perfect!!! Translation of the words on Jimin’s chest is from a German poem written by Rainer Maria Rilke in the late 1800s : I live my life in widening circles that reach out across the world. I may not complete this last one but I give myself to it. I circle around God, around the primordial tower. I've been circling for thousands of years and I still don't know: am I a falcon, a storm, or a great song?
Jimin explains exactly what this song is about plus the other songs on his albums. So there's no reason for others interpretations. I will let you find Jimin's explanation online. He went through a lot. They all have. Growing up into adults while performing for Over 10 years and not really having time to examine their lives. However, the pandemic affected them all deeply. All in different ways. They all experienced depression and some have told their story. So this album tells his story in chronological order of what he was going through. He went through a deep depression and experienced loneliness. He was determined to grow from that experience and get out of the trap of what others thought about himself. And all the negative thoughts he had about himself. So if you can't tell. He made it. He's been set free. He can write a while album. Create this complete concept for the set...it's a prison. He didn't choreograph it, but he worked with the choreographer to get his concept displayed through the movement and images. I can tell you as a choreograper he succeeded brilliantly! This dance is amazing. Be sure and watch the dance practice...all of you. Without the set, costumes, lighting, camera angles and edits you can see in detail all of the dance. Plus his bangs are shorter so you can see his eyes and facial expressions perfectly. You can Feel from his body language especially when he is entering that maze/spiral that this transformation is really happening. He is turning into a Butterfly. A note about his next song "Like Crazy"...the MV is a movie version of the song full of imagery and symbols. It was distracting to me. Again, watch the dance practice..the choreographed version. It portrays the storyline beautifully. And again, you cam see Jimin dance smoothly through all the emotions. So do your research and enjoy discovering his album. Every song is amazing! You might consider reviewing the whole album on Patreon. ENJOY.
Been waiting for this one, the amount of records this song, the title track and his debut EP FACE broke on their first days was insane. He's currently the *best* selling kpop *soloist.* He sold about 1.02M on the first 24hrs. He really did end kpop, Jimin wanted to show a new side to him, and new version. As he says "raise your hand for the past me, now set me free" you can see at the end of the MV, his new rebirthed self! Make sure to also check out the title track, Like Crazy (you may like that one a bit more) and possibly the EP too! Thx guys 💜 p.s: yoongi has "set me free" on his mixtape from 2020, two completely different songs
I love that raised hand - in the choreo it's a triumphant fist that they then open up. It's a great gesture that says so much about celebrating the past and still acknowledging that in some ways it's a thing you need to escape.
We are bulletproof pt.2 has part one which is a pre-debute song. Airplane pt.2 has part one which is a Jhope solo song. Set me free pt.2 has part one which is a SUGA/Agust-d solo song.
This song is my favorite by Jimin and BTS, just because you can see the true him and how he expresses himself, as many times as he said he wants to be set free this song really portrayed that and I think he’s shining so bright when he’s this confident. I love him and BTS for doing what they truely want now. ❤️
Jimin has different voice techniques..When he pitches soft tones, his voice sounds different..When he hits high tones, his voice sounds different..When he raps, his voice sounds different..He can control his voice so well..But he still thinks that he needs to work more on his vocals..He is trully a humble gentleman..
"Set Me Free" was written by Suga. It was released a long time ago on one of his Agust D mixed tapes. Suga's theme was Freedom. Jimin decided to use that title as his theme is Freedom too. Suga is honored.
Jimin took a big risk on this song and it turned out amazing. Like Crazy, the title track, is also perfect in every way. It’s so Jimin, totally his style. Everything about Like Crazy is a perfect fit.
Loved your reaction guys! I also wanted to suggest you to check out the explanation video for Set Me Free and Like Crazy since both songs have very carefully hidden meanings that Jimin wanted to portray in his work. It's not related to any of the BU stuff so it will be interesting to look them up. The links are: Set Me Free pt.2 ruclips.net/video/M1AlqaTvulE/видео.html Like Crazy ruclips.net/video/dS9gmsznEMY/видео.html Hope you'll check them out uwu
@JUNGKOOK KING 👑💜 You can’t be a true JK fan if you’re out here trying to roast his hyungs who he loves so much. The man literally dedicated a whole live to Jimin
Y'all should watch Suga's show suchwita episode 7 with Jimin, although he didn't talk about all the songs on face, he spoke about some and how he felt writing them, apart from that the whole episode is just wholesome 🥺. Both men are so sweet, y'all should see it please..
Hi guys, just wanted to point out that singularity is V's song and thatJimin has released solo songs before like; lie, serendipity, filter which were released in bts's albums and other songs used as OSTs in dramas and others released in music streaming apps for fans. However, this is his first album as a completely solo act before they re-group. He has really pushed himself to exceed people's expectations. His whole album is fire🔥
Jimin is the member that is usually only known for his high range but their old music shows his lower range. He has a nice lower register as well. He has had many challenges such as death threats, people talking about his weight, height and even just getting a death threat right before a concert and still going out there. But of course, Jin Hyung was dressing the same as him and even wore his hair the same. This song is really deep. Set him free from the image that you have of him in BTS regarding his look, his sound... because now it is his time to come outside of that norm look and sound and be him. He is finally free to show himself and not the group image.
If I’m not mistaken jimin said this song was about him battling depression and going through a hard time and he wanted to get out of it hence the title set me free this was also during the pandemic you can watch the behind the scenes to see him talk about it some more also on suga show he talks and goes a little more in depth about it!!😊
Pandemic was so hard for everyone especially jimin so this album is about how he felt during those days. And jimin is quite personal member. He share really little about his personal life as compared to other members. So this is him facing world showings his raw feeling.
Been waiting for this reaction! This is an absolute masterpiece! The choreo, the lyrics, the music, the mv, even the tasteful use of auto tune, everything is perfection! Jimin truly ended K-pop! What a visual and auditory extravaganza! He deserves the best!
He has said that he wrote this about the emotions and depression that he was going through during the pandemic. Generally it's about him breaking out of his mental fog. He's never had an eating disorder. They all gain and lose weight and diet regularly to maintain or to get in shape for performances and videos, that's all.
Thanks for React! Maybe I can explain a little, but I'm no expert on the subject 😅, but Jimin went through some situations in the past, mainly post debut, related to his physical appearance, hyper masculinity and position in the group, the aesthetic pressure was huge on him so much that he himself submitted to unhealthy diets and training to achieve that most valued aesthetic at the time. As time went by, the maturity, knowledge and support of the members and fans, Jimin began to understand himself more within his own being and his personality, he no longer saw the need to show himself in that toxic masculinity of the strong male who does not demonstrates feelings and etc, he managed to find his own femininity and that's even what the FACE album plays with, about these nuances of Jimin. So I believe that Set Me Free pt 2 talks a little about the reflection of that past and the things he experienced that from third-party eyes might seem like something simple but it was quite significant for him and for his personal growth. The next songs on the Album like Like a Crazy show a little more of that. Hope I helped in some way, besitos from brazil ❤️🇧🇷
If you guys want to understand more of the story behind the song, there’s a behind the scenes of this song that you can check out. As well as Jimin’s Suchwita episode (Suchwita is Yoongi’s show where he interviews people the episodes are here on RUclips). And you’ll also come to understand more as you watch rise of bangtan. This man and the tannies have all been through so much
Я влюбилась в эту песню с первого прослушивания! Я очень сильно люблю её! Мне нравится включать 'Set me free pt.2' через большие колонки и слушать 10 раз подряд! Это теперь одна из моих любимых песен! 💜💜💜
Jimin is genuinely so multi-faceted (feels perfect that his album is called FACE), he's like the perfect meld of cute, inviting, charming, yet still mysterious. 👀💜 He's outrageously hard to get a read on/explain. Like you never really know what you’re gonna get with this guy. Jimin once said he's a firm believer in _the clothes make the man_ , so the way he acts on a specific day could be a reflection of how he feels in his clothing that day. Like if he's wearing a suit he'd carry himself a certain way, opposed to how he'd act in an oversized hoodie. So while he can be this raw gritty version of himself, he's also just as much the sweet soft mochi version too.
He has a German poem calligraphied on what looks like his skin. But it's really printed on a prosthetic sheath to make it look like his skin. The poem reflects the theme of his song and album. And yes. You could see his real tatoo briefly. It says NEVERMIND. It's from the song Suga wrote "Nevermind". But that tatoo is blocked out when he is "shirtless". The tatoos on his back are real. He had the phases of the moon tattooed down his back.
Its not his first solo song, its his first solo album! Jimin doesn't have or had an eating disorder that's something antis have spread and unfortunately it has spread like wildfire!
Set Me Free (pt 1) is on Yoongi‘s last mixtape/album. Jimin said it does connect, but it‘s not really a continuation of Yoongi‘s song. And Airplane pt.2 is a continuation of Hobi‘s solo song Airplane on his first mixtape/album. Hobi‘s rap part in Airplane pt.2 is actually in his solo song!
This song was is great, I get what he was doing with autotune vs his real voice. I love this song. People say its too much autotune, but im here for it. it added something so much deeper to the song
Finally!!! I have been waiting patiently....I couldn't hit the play button fast enough. If you like this wait until you see Like Crazy. Love this telling side of Jimin. He titled it Face because he decided in all of the songs on his album to "face himself" and the songs on the album you have to listen to them in order. Set me free pt 2 is actually at the end of the album telling himself that he is going to be free of the haters and negativity that has followed him throughout his career. Also a lot of the songs are written with his feelings during the pandemic. He is a true artist and has put out a complete masterpiece with his album. If you end up getting the album, there is a hidden track on the album called "Letter" with JK doing the background vocals. The writing on his body was a German Poem that was relatable to what he was feeling and trying to convey in his music. There is an explanation video from Jimin that explains more than what I am saying here. Thank you for reacting to this MV. Can't wait for your "surprising" reaction to Like Crazy. It will also blow you away.
He was working on his solo album right after BTS’ hiatus announcement back on 2022 (the first song that he wrote was “Letter”, which literally a letter that he wrote for army, and he turned it into the song). And he also said that he even sleeping over Pdogg’s house while working on his songs. He writes, composes and produces his songs (and album) by himself (with help from other producers from HYBE, and RM took part in writing Like Crazy lyrics too), and he also took part in directing the choreo.
Hola!
It’s a German poem written on him. The auto tune was strategically used, it’s like the fight within himself, two voices for the two sides. The drama also includes depression. Jimin has been through a lot, including a lot of haters-haters death threat level haters.
This song is such a banger, ive been waiting for it for ages and now it's finally here. I'm in love with the choreo as its so jimin. I love jimins vocals in the song aswell, vand the lyrics relatable aswell. I also love the MVs darker colours aka the black and blue as they really set the mood Jimins is trying to create and this is a side of jimin I've been waiting to see and I love it.
I think I recommend that you guys watch episode 7 of Suchwita to understand more about Jimin's album Face and what he is really talking about in his songs. And of course also for fun 👍
BTS loves to see their solo projects and group project as one and not seperate that's why there's a lot of part2. Airplane Pt1 was in jhope's mixtape hope world and Pt2 was the group one. Jimins set me free Pt2 because Suga in his mixtape had a song called set me free. Jimin in an interview said since Suga in that song talks about feeling lost this song is the feeling coming after that
I feel like he might also be talking about how he was once very hard on himself especially regarding masculinity and how guys should like and behave etc but over the years he's mellowed out and embraced softer sides. Jimin is very private about his life and for a reason. He's been hated on literally anything and everything specifically during 2016-2019.
Jimin has said that the ep face talks about his emotions through the pandemic and this song is about getting out of his depression (also he has said in the past he was pushed to be more manly which is not his authentic self)
11:02 thanks for the message editor about people spreading misinfo and diagnosing idols with stuff they haven't themselves confirmed. So many ppl need to stop that!
Actually Jimin got lot of hates even from “ARMY”,some people think he is feminine some people just hate his voice some people don’t like him when he hug other members…it’s not always good things in this fandom. And I believe when I say this some ARMY would still try to cover the truth . But whatever I just feel happy for Jimin now.his whole album is great and successful and I could feel his growth.
You guys must watch all songs in jimin album “FACE”. The songs are about jimin’s emotion especially during the pandemic. There are 5 songs (Face off, interclude: Dive, Like Crazy, alone, set me free pt 2) and 1 hidden track call “Letter” And anyway, this song call set me free pt 2 bcs suga has song call “set me free” too. You guys can watch in bangtan tv, suchitwa suga & jimin EP 7, and jimin live in weverse for FACE album to know well about his song.
Here's the point you're kind of missing to understand the song, not literally, cause he explained the meaning of Set Me Free pt. 2 and the whole album "Face", so we have an official explanation for it, that other amazing Armies commented already. It's the underlying meaning of this song, this album, the concepts, and all of the boys' solo careers. They are trying to reinforce the fact that they are people, and as such, they have layers emotionally and professionally, in their public personas and in their personal lives. So yes, Jimin is very sweet and caring, nobody can deny that based on what's been shown of him for the past 10 years. However, he is still a human being, if he gets angry he ain't going to be sweet no more, why would he? He's very polite, so most of the time he just brushes off stuff that is thrown towards him just because people feel entitled to say whatever harmful thoughts they can come up with. He's also conscious of the fact that we as a fandom are a powerful force, so if any of the members were to actually name-drop all of the people that hurt them, there are always going to be "fans" that take it too far. This, however, doesn't mean that he's immune to all the hatred he's facing every single day. Especially, if you're not allowed by the circumstances to reply or put people in their place. The destructive criticism that is aimed at him can get to his head at times and not let him feel free to express himself fully. This song doesn't mean that he's not going to be sweet anymore, or that he was faking being sweet, it's more to show, that yes he's aware of the fact that people are judgemental, but that is not going to affect him anymore, he's not passive and complacent to the criticism. He believes in himself and will keep on going his way. This is not a sound he delved into a whole lot, but he feels like that best describes what his feelings are regarding this internal struggle. So why inhibit himself from trying it out just because it doesn't fit into the little box people force him into to comfortably say they figured him out. He's so much more than just a sweet man, he's also an artist, a dancer, a friend, a son, a member of the biggest group in the world right now and a man that admitted bashfully that he watched "The Boss Baby" to learn better English in his downtime. You didn't stop being sons and daughters because you married or got kids, you are still both. Nothing has to be a contradiction in this world we live in, even the laws of physics are full of paradoxes, but as long as you live with honesty and an active mind, you'll be able to live the full spectrum of your existence.
Just a small detail the writing on Jimin's torso was actually German poetry. He had lines written on his torso from a poem called " I live my life in widening circles" by Rainer Maria Rilke. 😊😊
Guys, please don't believe everything you see and hear. Jimin never had an eating disorder. He dieted, a bad one, but it wasn't an eating disorder. And Bighit has strong artist support assigned to each team. They call them "mental care". These are staff that focuses solely to take care of the boys' mental state and other needs. They have counseling too. They even talk about these kinds of support in some Bangtan Bombs. Please ask VETERAN ARMYs if you are not sure and do not trust everything you heard or saw somewhere. They can point you to videos, content, and evidence to prove or disprove what you've heard. Thank you and love you!💜
He wrote most of these songs during the pandemic. he ( they all ) went through a lot of deep thoughts about himself and how things had been. Jimin gets hate and even death threats, and I think he's saying he's found a way to ignore the hate. Also, JImin talks often about how he keeps his weight down, and many are upset that he stays so thin. he's 5'8" and stays between 110 and 130. That's out of his own mouth and many Army are trying to convince him he doesn't need to be so thin. He got picked on for being fat in the beginning, which he wasn't. he was a 18 yr old boy who still had baby face. Hence Baby Mochi nic name . He also talks about not dieting, but just eat healthy. There are a couple videos out where he speaks about the meaning behind each song. well worth a watch IMHO.💜💜💜💜
11:03 you're my hero Xen!! I'm SO sick of this narrative!!! OMG. Seriously they never can trust anyone with any information without it getting twisted and turned against them!! Literally EVERY member has talked about harsher/less harsher diets they tried ffs. PLEASE tell me you set them right Xen!
THANK YOU EDITOR AT 11:05 FOR THAT MEMO 👏👏👏 I’m so over these newbie or clout seeking “armys” on all media platforms that post misinformation or this kind of rhetoric about what the guys have shared with us. They just manipulate and put words in the members mouths to fit their own narratives and treat it as fact. And subsequently newer fans fall for it too 😔😤😒😡 This is harmful to our fandom’s space and we need to be actively working on getting rid of as many of these toxics fans and rumors/stories as much as possible! Okay rant over for now LOL
Jimin stated in a Bangtan Bomb that this song was about him breaking free from internal negative thoughts. He said he really suffered with depression during the pandemic and used the time to write this album, expressing his struggle.
I just have to say it, Jimin actually sound like that. If you watch the recent performance that he did in mnet you will be impressed, he reeeaaly slayed! hope that you guys watch it even if you don't upload it here
yessss finally here !!! this is the new jimin era he is my bias and i love see him try new things and grow up in every aspect of himself !! i'm so proud of him 💜💜💜💜💜💜 can't wait for your reaction to Like crazy ! and the whole album !!!
Bro went through a lot, he worked hard his whole life of course but he has been target of so much hate, whether about his weight or his voice, received death threats etc... he has always been doubtious of his own talents so you must imagine that it was quite difficult... I just think here he is embracing himself fully and setting himself free from all of that
ESCUCHEN TODO EL ÁLBUM, UNA OBRA MAESTRA, HAY MUCHA HISTORIA DETRÁS DE CADA PISTA, TAMBIÉN PUEDEN VER VIDEOS SOBRE TEORÍAS DE ELLO. ESTE ES EL ÁLBUM DEL AÑO.
Thank you, Xen for your insert edit. I was wondering how you would react since you have seen very little solo Jimin anyway. But this was a shock for veteran ARMY. I went from shocked to mesmerized to in love with this song and performance. I love the dichotomy of hard and soft of the autotune and natural voice, the layers of meaning in the choreo and music, and Jimin's powerful performance. Just love.
if anyone gets to say "fuck off, get out my way" to haters, it's definitely Jimin. This poor man has been dragged through hell and back by his perfect hair for years for breathing air. He didn't hold back, definitely a new side of Jimin he has been waiting to unleash for a long, long, time
Well Said.
👏👏
Spot on!!!
YUP!!!!
Yes I have thought that a few time to tell those people.
@mostsuccessfulsoloistkeep crying😂
@Evelyn you said that cause you don't appreciate music and open minded to all kinds of music. there is literally a story from the song title in his album. just watch DG react on how he breakdown jimin album. If that doesn't open your mind and think differently then I'm gonna assume you're just a mindless hater.
@Evelyn You are watching every Jimin reaction and leaving the same comment. Don't you have a job?
@Evelynyou got here early! Camping on a channel of BTS reactions screams obsession for me 😊
@Evelyn , that's what someone who doesn't understand the song would say.....
I agree.
he used auto tune to reflect all the voices in his head. This song was about his inter dialog with himself
Full Poem:
Rainer Maria Rilke
I live my life in widening circles
that reach out across the world.
I may not complete this last one
but I will give myself to it.
I circle around God, around the primordial tower.
I’ve been circling for thousands of years
and I still don’t know: am I a falcon,
a storm, or a great song?
@Evelyn stay bitter
@Evelyn careful there, your jealousy, bitterness, and insecurities are peaking through :)
@Evelyn the number of times you commented in this video says a lot about how much of a obsession you have with jimin 😢 keep trying tho ✌🏻
@Evelyn the fact that you took your time to comment? for hating him, you sure spent your time on him. thanks for the supporting
@Evelyn 👈 obsessed, Jimin's biggest fan.
@Evelyn
Jimin haters, enter any of his videos to say the same repeated words, at least change the words, Jimin, crush you, are you still breathing?
U really make me cry
@mostsuccessfulsoloistHe made you cry bcz of his success😘
@Evelyn
And what if I cry, this proves that I am a human being with a pure sense, not like you, a devil in the form of human beings with blackness inside them
Whole album FACE is about how Jimin felt through pandemic in chronicled order.
I would summarize it
Face-off confrontation, trying to get rid of traces he doesn't accept in himself.
Interlude: Dive dive into dreams
Like Crazy escapism, choosing avoiding to see to stay in the dream even if it breaks him.
G DRAGON KING -
I’VE NEVER CLICKED FASTER FOR A REACTION!!!! FINALLY YOU REACTED TO JIMINS DEBUT😭😭😭
Same. 😂
Really finally they did it! I told them so many times
Same 😂
agreed!!!
Same 💜💜💜💜💜
You need to see what he said about this song. He said he was going thru hard times during the pandemic. He felt lost was drinking and didn’t want to go to work, depressed and stressed because he wanted to go on concerts and see Armys but he doesn’t feel that way anymore. He missed also the members.💜💜💜
This is what he said for Like Crazy if I'm not mistaken
@@kgarebe2608He said this about the whole album….that each song was a different stage of his feelings during the pandemic.
@@kgarebe2608 Actually, that's what he said for the whole album. So all the songs on this album is about his struggle during the pandemic
@Evelyn yes yes thats why he dedicated an entire Live to Jimin because he doesn't care about him🤡🤡
@Evelyn This is so off track. This is a song reaction...
Jimin have gone through a lot.. you guys don't know that . So u can't understand that..he just expressed his raw emotions through this song..so much unnecessary hate because of jealousness of his talents,( he also have lots of good carreer achievements) ,delusional shipping hate, hate from solo stans inside the fandom ( check the comment section u guys will get it for example v and jk' s Stan Evelyn channel is here for her work) and also hate from outside the fandom,so many death threats...( till now he is facing all of that) I guess he receives the most hate out of the whole group..he also aims to perfect himself..he is a perfectionist..so he extremely works hard for that..he was not very much confident in him earlier days eventhough he is very talented in many fields..he doesn't able to appreciate him whole heartedly..his insecure feeling( his haters also one of the reasons to make him feel like that)..since it's an hip hop group he tried to portray himself more manly but he realised that's not him so you can see how he accepted his true self..these are some of his struggles..there are lot more( body shaming, mocking his voice, spreading misinformation about him..so many..the list goes on..setting himself free from all of them..that poor man itself might be wondering what crime did he have done to get this much hate..He doesnt have any blackmark in his career, very humble, very sweet, caring for others, very friendly with everyone, extremely talented,generous,supportive..his haters don't want him to succeed and outshine that's the problem ..they don't need any particular reason to hate him..if he breathe that's a crime to his haters..whole album is very much different and intense ..a whole new side of jimin..vulnerable to bold ..he is breaking many records through this album...so proud of him..another interpretation of his album is that the emotions he have experienced in the pandemic days in a chronological order...set me free is the last part of his album..another interpretation is that he fights with his inner negative thoughts...mostly all of his songs have interpretation elements ..what he exactly meant is personal to him
Yes a good example is tris comment section Sadly. People are just obsessed With jimin
Well he is ending the industry right now. His album and song is predicted high in hot 100. Why you mad. This song outsold everyone. Next
@Evelyn he is and has ended every other artist yes! good point!
@mostsuccessfulsoloistStop spamming and stream your fav🤡
@Evelyn well ended kpop with that #1 in billboard 🤷♀️
The writing is a German poem. This song kinda talks about all the faces he’s had to wear to please his fans, his company and just people in general. He struggled with wanting to be perfect all the time and this song kinda embraces all of those faces and he sets himself free. He’s now ready to be the person he wants to be and he doesn’t care how people perceive him anymore. That’s kinda the theme of his all album. He’s facing himself.
@JUNGKOOK ARMY👑💜 Can someone who leaves Jimin for one song be a fan?
@JUNGKOOK ARMY👑💜 you for real?? definitely something is wrong with your ears bestie..🤷🤷
@JUNGKOOK ARMY👑💜 he won an award with that song and another one today with Like Crazy. Soo yeah…whatever 😂
@JUNGKOOKARMY1999What are you talking about? 😅
yep yep
I applauded editor Xen, she's a real one! 💜
Suga has a song in his solo album called D-2 that is "Set Me Free". Hence Jimin's song is called Set Me Free pt. 2
And J-hope has a song called "Airplane" in his solo album Hope World. Hence the song BTS has is called Airplane pt. 2
And this song “Set me free pt.2” recently debuting at #30 on billboard hot 100 too. The highest debuting single by a K-Pop soloist in the charts history! 🎉
Edit: #1 on Billboard Hot 100😆😆😆💜💜💜
the autotune was used in an artistically way so i LOVE IT sm, it shows show versatile is jimin !!! HIS ALBUM IS AMAZING IM SO PROUD OF HIM HE IS BREAKING RECORDS LEFT AND RIGHT!! HE ALSO PEAK #1 ON GLOBAL SPOTIFY ❤❤ KEEP STREAMING YALL
That beginning part where many are surprised is really just Jimin using his lower vocal register.. which sounds amazing, by the way 🥰💜
True! It surprises me how so many people dont know about it, when it has appeared in various ocassions 😅
@@Lostinthelights1310 to think army has been watching how jk imitate jimin's "this kind of" voice for yrs and they still shocked 😂
jimin has released single songs like “promise” but they were never official until now. And yes every pt 2 song has a part 1 somewhere. Airplane pt 2 goes with jhopes “airplane” from his first solo album.
It was a mixtape but you are correct.
Well, he did have "official" solo songs like Filter and Serendipity, but they were part of a BTS album and so don't really count.
set mw free part 2 cuz suga had set me free ..If u want to know about it watch suchwita with jimin,.❤❤
(It’s temporary tattoos)
And for the “nevermind” (at the beginning) & the moon (at the end) is his real tattoos.
This is JIMIN'S ERA!!!! I'm so proud of him!!! The heavy hitting trumpets and the choreography plus Jimin's voice was so perfect!!!
Translation of the words on Jimin’s chest is from a German poem written by Rainer Maria Rilke in the late 1800s :
I live my life in widening circles
that reach out across the world.
I may not complete this last one
but I give myself to it.
I circle around God, around the primordial tower.
I've been circling for thousands of years
and I still don't know: am I a falcon,
a storm, or a great song?
Thx guys 💜
p.s: yoongi has "set me free" on his mixtape from 2020, two completely different songs
❤
I love that raised hand - in the choreo it's a triumphant fist that they then open up. It's a great gesture that says so much about celebrating the past and still acknowledging that in some ways it's a thing you need to escape.
We are bulletproof pt.2 has part one which is a pre-debute song.
Airplane pt.2 has part one which is a Jhope solo song.
Set me free pt.2 has part one which is a SUGA/Agust-d solo song.
And all this pt2 has one thing in common (f&%k off! haters vibe)😅
Thank you Xen for stepping up and clarifying the lies people tell for views in their social platform 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You are nice keep going Borahae💜
Yeah it touched my heart so much, Xen is a true Army💜
Abby guessed it! Yea. This is KRUNK Jimin style. It's Krunked up for sure! And all of Army Loves this Anthem. We are so proud of Jimin!
@JUNGKOOK KING 👑💜 when and where?? I didn't know that??
@JUNGKOOK KING 👑💜 👈 obsessed, Jimin's biggest fan
To the person who add the post about him having a ED thank you. Well said, and I’ll add a PERIODT!!!!!
Loved your reaction guys!
I also wanted to suggest you to check out the explanation video for Set Me Free and Like Crazy since both songs have very carefully hidden meanings that Jimin wanted to portray in his work. It's not related to any of the BU stuff so it will be interesting to look them up. The links are:

@JUNGKOOK KING 👑💜 You can’t be a true JK fan if you’re out here trying to roast his hyungs who he loves so much. The man literally dedicated a whole live to Jimin
@JUNGKOOK KING 👑💜 🤡🤡
@JUNGKOOK KING 👑💜 Why are you barking here like a dog with rabies?
@JUNGKOOK KING 👑💜 Jungkook would burn yall solo losers to keep Jimin warm 🥰
Also the main track Like Crazy is such a boop! Is so insanely addictive!
Unique vibe and fantastic dancing
Jimin is the member that is usually only known for his high range but their old music shows his lower range. He has a nice lower register as well. He has had many challenges such as death threats, people talking about his weight, height and even just getting a death threat right before a concert and still going out there. But of course, Jin Hyung was dressing the same as him and even wore his hair the same. This song is really deep. Set him free from the image that you have of him in BTS regarding his look, his sound... because now it is his time to come outside of that norm look and sound and be him. He is finally free to show himself and not the group image.
I HATE it when people assume he had a ED when he himself has never said it with his own mouth. Come on guys, god damn.
FINALLY NOW PLEASE REACT TO LIKE CRAZY BY JIMIN!!!
If I’m not mistaken jimin said this song was about him battling depression and going through a hard time and he wanted to get out of it hence the title set me free this was also during the pandemic you can watch the behind the scenes to see him talk about it some more also on suga show he talks and goes a little more in depth about it!!😊
Jimin's album tells about how he felt during pandemic
Thank you army this false narrative people create makes me so unhappy 😭💜💜
This man and the tannies have all been through so much
0:54 yoongi has a song named 'set me free' on his mixtape, that's why jimin's song is pt.2
Jimin is great as always. He is so talented and wonderful. 💜
11:06, Editor Xen, thank you so much for that ❤
Editor Zen - 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 on ED comment!
Я влюбилась в эту песню с первого прослушивания! Я очень сильно люблю её! Мне нравится включать 'Set me free pt.2' через большие колонки и слушать 10 раз подряд! Это теперь одна из моих любимых песен! 💜💜💜
Jimin is genuinely so multi-faceted (feels perfect that his album is called FACE), he's like the perfect meld of cute, inviting, charming, yet still mysterious. 👀💜
He's outrageously hard to get a read on/explain.
It always confuses me when people are suprised for these stuff because it's just makes complete sense to me lol
On this, the latest Suchitwa is so important to hear from Jimin himself about many topics!
People said that it was like "lie" and "on" had a baby and I totally agree with them😅
Can't wait for you guys to react to like crazy 😭
Actually Jimin got lot of hates even from “ARMY”,some people think he is feminine some people just hate his voice some people don’t like him when he hug other members…it’s not always good things in this fandom. And I believe when I say this some ARMY would still try to cover the truth .
But whatever I just feel happy for Jimin now.his whole album is great and successful and I could feel his growth.
I want to give kudos to the editor for the comment about people spreading misinformation and not being his doctor. Stop analyzing and diagnosing them!
You guys must watch all songs in jimin album “FACE”. The songs are about jimin’s emotion especially during the pandemic. There are 5 songs (Face off, interclude: Dive, Like Crazy, alone, set me free pt 2) and 1 hidden track call “Letter”
And anyway, this song call set me free pt 2 bcs suga has song call “set me free” too.
You guys can watch in bangtan tv, suchitwa suga & jimin EP 7, and jimin live in weverse for FACE album to know well about his song.
@@carolynfranklin4865 i mean the album. Especially, the songs represent about jimin facing himself.
Thankyou for sharing my 🫶🏼
It’s actually a better reaction when you’re not too prepared. This is great
Here's the point you're kind of missing to understand the song, not literally, cause he explained the meaning of Set Me Free pt.
The most beautiful and wise comment, thank you. 💜
Talento, constancia, trabajo y una forma increíble de moverse, junto con una voz única, hacen de Face una obra maestra
Jimin best solo song ever
@Evelyn Shut up
It’s a Germán poem written on his body.
I just have to say it, Jimin actually sound like that. If you watch the recent performance that he did in mnet you will be impressed, he reeeaaly slayed! hope that you guys watch it even if you don't upload it here
Amazing performances by Jimin!! His vocals went OFF for SMFp2!!💜
yessss finally here !!! this is the new jimin era he is my bias and i love see him try new things and grow up in every aspect of himself !! i'm so proud of him 💜💜💜💜💜💜 can't wait for your reaction to Like crazy ! and the whole album !!!
Never have I ever clicked so fast to watch a reaction video. Also autotune is barely for 30 sec when he is NAKED with the writing
LEGEND OF ART 😲😲
Bro went through a lot, he worked hard his whole life of course but he has been target of so much hate, whether about his weight or his voice, received death threats etc... he has always been doubtious of his own talents so you must imagine that it was quite difficult... I just think here he is embracing himself fully and setting himself free from all of that
ESCUCHEN TODO EL ÁLBUM, UNA OBRA MAESTRA, HAY MUCHA HISTORIA DETRÁS DE CADA PISTA, TAMBIÉN PUEDEN VER VIDEOS SOBRE

He got the moon cycle tattoos because V sent him a fanart from twitter 😂 soulmate thingzzz
Jimin actually has a wide vocal range. He just came to be used for higher ranges in BTS songs because it is unique and he's strong there
Watch the MNET performance for SMFp2 that just came out today...his vocals!! 💜
I SWEAR I'VE NEVER CLICKED ON A NOTIFICATION FASTER IN MY LIFE OMGGG 😭😭✨
Thank you, Xen for your insert edit.
I was wondering how you would react since you have seen very little solo Jimin anyway. But this was a shock for veteran ARMY. I went from shocked to mesmerized to in love with this song and performance. I love the dichotomy of hard and soft of the autotune and natural voice, the layers of meaning in the choreo and music, and Jimin's powerful performance. Just love.
finalmente saiu esse react, estava esperando há semanas 😭🥰🥰
11:07 THANK YOU EDITOR XEN! THANK YOU!
I was waiting for this one.
