Thanks for your reaction. Jimin did not receive vocal training as the other members did as he joined very late and was many times close to getting cut because he had a lot to keep up with the group type of music, style, image etc.. one correction is he didnt sit outside another artist listening on the lesson. It was that Jimin would ask V and JK to let him sit in during their vocal lessons to learn on the side and then practice what he learned on his own in his own time. Not sure why the company didnt provide him the lessons. The reason he got this far was because he practiced desperately very hard and extremely persistent to make it work and focused on improving himself. I believe his training in kendo helped him with this persistence which is how people get surprised with the level he is at now. People around him say he is a hard-working type of genius who will not give up and is strongly driven until he makes it work. So for average person like me where I also find myself struggling to keep up with others find jimin truly an inspiration to keep trying. Thank you again for the nice reaction 😊
I didn't know any of this (baby ARMY). I've been having a tough few weeks since the semester started and all I want is to do better in school but I've been seriously struggling with motivation & discipline, while also dealing with depression. Reading this seriously lifted my spirits and I also got inspiration from how hard working Jimin is. Wow! Thank you for summing this up for CCW and for newer ARMY like myself🥺💜

17:30 the other bts members' lesson actually! :) Jin, V and Jungkook received vocal lessons before their debut as bts when they were trainees but Jimin did not. So when they debuted he actually had the least amount of vocal training in the group. Bts themselves talk about this in Yoo Quiz On The Block (you should watch that show! It has funny moments and a lot of information)

Jimin was able to sing since very young. His father said it in an interview. It's just that he didn't train for it before becoming a trainee. And yes, he had to ask to watch & listen while other members of BTS had actual vocal lessons (he said it himself in a TV interview & it was confirmed by Jungkook). He trained in dance in Busan Arts High School and was already used to perform before joining BTS. There's a video of him having a little solo in the performance alongside his school mates at his dance teacher wedding. Taeyang is his idol, I'm so happy he got to do this collab with him!
Agree, for Jimin to debut as lead vocal after such a short trainee period and no formal training, he must have had not only a naturally good voice but some previous experience with singing.

Jimin’s voice is unique & angelic in the true essence. It gives a vibrant color and stirring emotions in each and every song. He works very hard, that’s a given fact, as people around him attest. His vocals and visuals in VIBE make Army jump off our feet the first time we saw this video & now it’s on repeat! We all wished though that he’d be topless and hardcore dancing too but we figured that would be the death of us so ok, all good! 🤩😅
So happy for Jimin to be doing this collab with Taeyang who he looks up to since he was young. There are even snippets of Jimin singing, dancing and playing the piano with Taeyang’s songs. Jimin rlly looked up to Taeyang a lot. Especially back in the days when they were in their hiphop era i kept wonder why did Jimin remind me of Taeyang so much. And then i saw him sing Taeyang’s song all the time and i knew it. Actually Jimin didnt know how to sing even after bts debuted, Suga mentions this to taeyang and jimin has said this countless of times he would ask to just sit in while the other members got vocal practice and what he heard he would stay up and try to replicate in his own time, he also rarely slept jimin said in an interview he would. be up praciticing until 4 am and then have to wake up at 6am for school and continiously did t his for 6 months. Yet they gave him the lead vocalist and Main dancer position, JImin has worked so hard even. The other members have attested to saying Jimin works the hardest and Suga has said thats what scary about jimin eevn when you think its perfect he wouldnt rest until he thinks its perfect. As many of ya'll may know, Jimin was the last member to join BTS. He has an astounding background in contemporary dance, popping, hip hop, martial arts, etc in which helped him be onr of the main dancers in BTS. He originally did not sing and would listen in on the vocal lessons that Jungkook and V would get. Whatever he learned he would use it to improve his singing and it truly paid off. Jimin has the most unique, breathtaking vocals in the entire music industry 😍
This song is not a BTS song. It's Taeyang ft. Jimin. A bit disrespectful to not even include Taeyang's name in your title. He's one of the most looked up to idols, even for BTS. Taeyang wrote and composed this song along with others and Jimin helped in the composition. Would be great to at least give him credit by adding him in the title of his own song...

FUN FACT: Jimin was almost kicked out of BTS (pre-debut) around 8 times bc people in the agency didn’t think he’d do well in BTS and that his dance style was too influenced by his contemporary training and not suited for the typical kpop styles. I can’t imagine A BTS without all 7 of them. They all bring such a unique talent to the group. 💜
Also, if I remember correctly, Jimin used to listen in on Taehyung and Jungkook’s vocal lessons.
He’d stay up until 4am practicing everything, sleep a couple of hours, and then have to be up around 6am for school (he was still in high school at this time). Jimin’s work ethic is insane and it’s said by so many people - by both the members and those who are privileged enough to work with him. 😊
You guys taIk as if Jimin wasn't taIented or something. Jimin was only a trainee for 6 months (unlike other members who were being trained for years) at the time of bts' debut so the company thought he still wasn't ready to debut.

Jimin is SO remarkably and naturally talented; I just wished to point out how he proved any of his doubters wrong. Since he did have less time to train, the fact he’d stay up most of the night perfecting his skills just shows how steadfast and unstoppable he is. And he did that as a teenager! I definitely didn’t possess that strength and determination as a teen. I am in AWE of him as an artist and as a human-being. Period. Throughout any and all hardships, Jimin has remained the most genuinely kindest and thoughtful person. I just thought it was important to share that he faced his own struggles and roadblocks and proved himself a million times over. BTS wasn’t complete until he came and made them Seven. 💜

Loved that you did this! Jimin mentioned Taeyang as the idol he looked up to and there are compilations showing Taeyang's performances and young BTS Jimin copying him. SUGA interviewed Taeyang on his new show, and he shared that all of BTS were fans and looked up to Big Bang, the group Taeyang is in. I have never seen SUGA fanboy so much. He was actually giddy! SUGA said Big Bang was such an influence on BTS. There are videos of the members copying Taeyang's songs as well.
As for video games, there are episodes where BTS plays on line games with professional gamers, I remember the name Faker, can't remember the rest. They broke up into two groups and played against eo.
There was another one where it was BTS and 2 MCs and they split into two teams to battle eo. Check it out if you can.

Taeyang (pronounced as "Tae" in "Taehyung" and "Yang" as "Young") is a main dancer and main vocalist of BIGBANG. they are one of the BIGGEST and the MOST important groups in the whole K-pop's history. they became the first self-produced Korean group and made an idol producing a common thing, they set a lot of trends and conceptions that are still used even nowadays and they're just different. they don't usually dance really hard for their live performances (and yet they rock it, their stage presence is no joke🙃), they use very uncommon beats and theme sounds for their songs and have pretty rough texts. but they still became the unquestionable no.1 tho. BB songs are literally considered as K-pop anthems because of how famous they are. every Korean knows the lyrics of their songs even if they don't actually listen to K-pop, and i mean it. btw, a fun fact: originally K-pop groups' concepts were aimed at attracting the audience of the opposite sex, but BB eventually became the first ever group that broke this stereotype because their male fanbase was and still is just unbelievably big. moreover, a lot of Koreans have BB's members as their role models, not just idols, so this literally screams of how LARGE they are.
Taeyang debuted as a solo artist in 2008 and throughout the most of his discography he has been taking part in a huge "war" between crazy fans' standards and idols' rights. VIPs (BIGBANG fans) definitely know what i'm talking about. since 2013 Taeyang has been openly in the relationship with his now wife (Korean actress Min Hyorin, they married back in 2018:] ) and last autumn their first child was born, which they almost immediately announced to the public. and it's actually a very big thing for Korean entertainment market as the whole idol image is built on the misconception that idol belongs to their fans (you probably already figured that out). being in relationship is a big problem for Korean celebrities because their fanbase can literally boycott them for this "betrayal". as an example i can tell you that there was a huge scandal when a member of another very popular group called EXO announced his upcoming marriage and the pregnancy of his fiancée. insane fans LITERALLY demanded the company to kick him out of the group and even signed different petitions for it. so yeah, this is basically a very complicated thing for K-pop idols and other Korean celebrities. and yet, in 2013 Taeyang openly announced that he was dating. as far as i remember, he's really one of the very few idols who had never hid their personal life and partners including the misfortunes and even some "rocky parts", and i really love him for that. i like that all of the BIGBANG members are extremely honest with the public and had never sold their image as the "perfect boyfriends" who only belong to the fans, they have been saying that they would have a personal life almost since the very beginning.
this comeback for me personally ended all the senseless debates because it shows how love doesn't change the quality of the idols' work. idols can be married and still sexy (obviously). idols can have children and remain hot (obviously once again). i really hope that 'VIBE' would help people to realize that it's ok for idols to be in love, because this issue really concerns me abd a lot of other K-pop fans for a long time

Big Bang was a huge KPOP group and many people believe that they paved the way to the international stage. Saw them in concert in 2012. Taeyang is slightly allergic to shirts. He and Jimin blend so well together. I am so excited that my 2 favorite groups are doing so much together.

Yeah. Jimin was a dancer. He didn't sing before. Bighit didn't give him any vocal lesson. So when JK and V were having their vocal lesson he asked the instructor if he could listen to it standing outside the class. His first real vocal training was when he sang for the b-side track of their first album
And still Jimin debuted as the lead vocalist of bts is mindblowing.

Taeyang is Jimin's IDOL. Jimin really really admire Taeyang ever since pre debut (alot of bts members too) I know kpop since 2009, and. BIGBANG is "the boygroup" back then, still now Bigbang is such legends

Awesome reaction thanks. Yes Jimin had no vocal training prior to debut as BTS. While other vocal line (Jin Taehyung and Jungkook) received their vocal training he listened to them and later practised on his own. He was made to do high notes without training in their earlier songs and was made lead vocalist. He just had natural talent :)

Omarion along with Michael Jackson , have inspired Taeyang since his school days. Omarion’s influence can really be seen in the “My Girl” mv. I really appreciate this collaboration. It’s not just Jimin humming in the background or having one fast line.
I wish more artists would collaborate with others they like. It’s just too bad, some in fandoms on ALL sides go off negatively if the artist they like, is wanted on another’s artists song. Especially when it’s clear that the artists are friends or have no problems with each other.
