Every month or two I find myself drawn back to this video. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever witnessed such a flawless live performance; truly, TRULY breathtaking!
Lucky enough to see Lisa in concert in Waterford last week in the beautiful Theatre Royal, fantastic show the line up was amazing, thanks Lisa ( Andrew from Sheffield)
What a brilliant, talented and authentic artist! She lives her music with understatement. In the quiet, private and deeply personal ways in which most lives are experienced.
Love this song. Tender, strange and exquisite. Thank god people are still writing songs like this. Love the dress. Not that that should matter in the least. But it reminds me so much of my student days.
Ummm off the top of my head.....Sun Kil Moon, Laura Marling, Bill Callahan, The tallest man on earth, Kurt Vile ( acoustic stuff), Robin Pecknfold, Ben Howard, Weyes Blood, Devendra banhart (acoustic stuff) Marissa Nalder, Cass Mccombs, Bright eyes, Bon Iver, Chelsea Wolfe ( acoustic stuff), Kings of Convienece, Emma Ruth Rundle, First aid kit, Angel Olsen( acoustic), Lou Barlow( acoustic stuff), the clientele, Feist and others that elude me at the moment. Those are some that stick out in my mind. Click around on youtube and use the similar artist suggestions on last fm.
LilRedRasta Yes all very good artists, and all very different. Thank you. Covered a couple of them too. What stands out for me about Lisa though is her use of melody - not just the quality of her singing. Herbie Hancock also praised her use of quite unusual intervals.
@@simonatherley I have to recommend Rachel Sermanni to you, for some really interesting melodies and Aurora's Runaway. Among the artists RedT mentioned, I also want to add Villagers, The National, Agnes Obel, Lucy Rose, Julia Jacklin, Junius Meyvant, Daughter, Other Lives, Bryde, Rosie Carney, some Low Roar stuff
Me too. Brighton for me (caught her there last time on the Passenger tour). Well worth it. Would love to be tucked up in a Dublin pub with her on though..!
Great stuff. She puts on a good show. I don't know if she'll have her 'band' or not like last time, but she's more than capable of holding you pretty spellbound on her own (like here) anyways. Hope you enjoy it!
Hide your horses, hold your tongue Hang the rich and spare the young Who drain the spirits from the jars Hop the fences, steal the cars Run on fumes and from the north And burn for us right through the fall All the ladies call your name Brush your hair like it could be tamed Hitch their dresses past the knees Spilling to the floor like ease They swing the bridges one and more And burn for us right through the fall All our running ahead, all our running ahead All our running ahead, all our running ahead And we'll seize the captain's wheel A mutiny we've come to feel When will their aiming's gone from view With everything we thought to do Oh, the devil won't have me I wonder who will, I wonder who will All our running is a crawl And burns for us right through the fall All our running ahead, all our running ahead All our running ahead, all our running ahead All our running, all our running All our running, all our running
Unreal, love covering this, whats with all the negativity about what she is wearing though? Since when does that matter? If you want glitz than eff off and gorge on Katie Perry and Niki Minaj videos and other useless, heartless crap, its whats in the heart folks, not whats in some tweeny magazine(do magazines still exist?) Keep doing what you do Lisa x
Sorry, that'd be me. Lisa's so delicious looking/sounding, I wanted to eat her. I got started, but stopped at just 'nibbling' her arms. I thought about the world without her (mid-chomp), 'tis one of the most magnanimous moments of my life (and a serious error of judgement).
You're so right....it's all about how she looks and what she's wearing. Not the sound of her voice, the notes she chooses or the words that she sings. Excellent musical insight! Well done!

Voice of the gentle birds of Ireland and smooth winds love Lisa Hannigan
Lovely rasp to her voice which sounds so earthy. Beautifully unique.
there's seriously no better way to describe her voice. Earthy and angel-like
I'd say it is whispering, rather than raspy. Yet you are right, earthly ans angel-like
Well what can you say, total pleasure to hear

Who talks about holes in sleeves when an Angel comes down to entertain us?
The moth got at her Arran !!! Mine too, and I also still wear it.
@@obidibidou6933 Firstly, I assume you meant Aran? Secondly, it's not an Aran sweater.
@@PanglossDrFirstly , It was supposed to be ffunny , Secondly ,not a strict jjoke .You can go back to flogging the servants now .
Wow

Her voice is amazing. It reminds me of Sinead O'Connor.
Pitch perfect.
i wish she was my daughter 😭
Alyssa:(
Song and voice lovely.
Dress - NO.
beautiful voice but needs something more main stream she could be huge
Zakazulu I'm not saying she has to, I'm saying she's deserve to as she is better than most of the most famous singers
She sounds like Melanie.
Its true but I wish Lisa would become a little bit ranchier like a young Melanie
I was thinking this, she sounds very much 60s not 2010s
she sounds like herself :)
