By the way, the Taurus Gx4 recently had a safety recall. You could go to their website and type in the serial number to see if your firearm needs to be recalled.
You have had the worst experience with 365’s lol I love mine. I have a standard P365 and the X-Macro and picked up a Wilson Combat XL grip module and now I can make all the variations and I love them.
Just paid $490 tax included for a New Springfield XD 9mm Sub Compact at Turners in CA with 2 mags and redeemed 3 extra mags and a Springfield Range Bag with their 2023 gear up rebate. Super excited to train with it.
I have owned an XD40 for 21 years, they are the most reliable of the polymer strikers. Like SPN said, his stock XD9 has over 14,000 perfect rounds through it.
My first gun was an XD45 with an XD9 subcompact soon to follow that. I've gotten so much hate from my Glock friends (all playful jokes) but I haven't had a single failure yet of both of them. At the end of the day, you want something that will fire when you most need it. Have fun and train often!
Haha yessir. It really was. Never seen a delayed striker before like this. But Taurus made it right and it’s been great ever since. thanks for watching and respect
I've been a Glock guy for decades, but I've had Sigs, CZs, Rugers, M&Ps, and a Kahr. The worst reliability issues I've ever had have been with the Glock 42 and the Ruger Security 9.
The first generation of Glock 42’s had issues. Glock changed three major components within the Glock 42 at about 2019-2020. I have a complete list of changes that i wrote about in a an law enforcement magazine and after I received an exclusive factory tour in Georgia. Glock resolved the issues.
My most reliable gun… Beretta 92FS… competition gun and I’ve shot 60,000+ rounds through it since 1991. Next is my Gen 3 Glock 17…. 34,000 rounds and still going. Only changed out the factory captured guide rod. … it didn’t break, I just changed it for overall maintenance.
I own both of those as well and don't have anywhere near as many rounds through them even combined compared to yours. That's very nice. Have you had to replace any parts such as strikers or recoil springs?
@@john4K47 Yes the recoil spring on my beretta is changed every 6,000 rounds whether it needs it or not. The trigger return spring has broke on me a few times, but it’s a 30 second fix. I usually change it out at the same time I change the recoil spring. At around the 30,000 mark, I changed out literally every spring, extractor, firing pin and locking block BEFORE they broke. The barrel was replaced at the 40,000 round count for good measure. While well worn, It was still hitting bullseyes but a new factory drop in barrel was just so easy to replace so why not? It was just preventative maintenance, like we do with car parts on high mileage vehicles. Other than those items that I consider preventative maintenance, it has not failed. For the Glock 17, I’ve only changed the captured recoil spring as preventative maintenance but that gun has never failed.
@@colt10mmsecurity68 that's cool. I haven't replaced any parts on my Beretta or G17 yet. Because both don't have nearly enough rounds through them. For the longest time I kept the Beretta mainly as a collector's piece and didn't shoot it often.
The funniest thing is I got a high point 9mm as a gift 10 or 15 years ago and I know they're heavy as hell but I've never had a problem at all with it and never cleaned it😂
I've got reliable guns crazy cheap and over paid for a POS too. Can't judge a gun by the price tag. I saw episode on Honest Outlaw he had a $4k POS that wouldn't run. Interesting topic👍
Glock guy here. I have Gs From g43 to g34, plus all the baby Glocks. Not a single problem with any of them. However, after watching your videos, I thought I’d give the hellcat and hellcat pro a try. You right, they are crazy reliable. The one thing I changed was the recoil spring with the DPM spring kit. After testing the 3 springs that come with the kit, I found the middle spring to decrease recoil the best. I believe it decreases recoil by 20%. Thanks for your info. BTW I’ve been on fence about the P365. After watching your videos, I will just stick to my hellcats 🙏🏻
Crazy that my daughter shot several 380s and liked the Taurus Spectrum and sure enough, it has shot everything we have put through it. My GX4 has over 2000 rounds, no failures, right out of the box. I am a Glock guy but like the occasional gun that shoots like a boss.
My Beretta Pico was super reliable. Never had a problem except not being able to hit anything past 5 yards. But it ran. Sold it and bought my regular P365 back in 2020. So far have near 7500 rounds through it with zero and I mean ZERO malfunctions. Daily carry it and have only cleaned it 3 times since buying it new.
True story, spring 2023; looked at a unused, NIB Charter Arms Pitbull .45acp snub. Latch and cylinder broke! 😬 in the store. The gun shop clerk was embarrassed 😳. Don't rely on current series Charter Arms revolvers. Not good design, safe.
Comments have been made about the assumed unreliability of a keltec. I have a 3AT. It does have a cheap plastic mag release (it doesn’t hurt to keep a couple of spares around. It is an easy swap out.) if the mag release is fine it runs without trouble all day.
I have a Taurus Spectrum 380. I took the Bodyguard 380 Magguts and replaced the magazine springs for one added round in each magazine. Gun locks open on last round. The Spectrum ate every type of ammo and is a great pocket pistol.
I personally own a GX 4 and I have ran close to 800 rounds through mine and have not had a single malfunction of any kind whatsoever. Not to mention it is an absolute nail driver. Love it!
@@tommccormick9290 it’s crazy how accurate the gx4 is. I had a 10in steel target set out past 50 yards and I was able to hit again and again no problem with it. So far been super impressed. I want to try out the new GX4 carry model
The problem with many 380 pistols is the extreme lack of power consistency among cartridges. A 380 pistol designed to tame a full powered load will not cycle the weaker stuff that proliferates the market.
I was excited when the Sig P938 came out and I bought it immediately. I owned the P238 (380) and that one is accurate and 100% reliable, I still pocket carry it today. I wanted the 9mm version. What a disappointment. A jam-o-matic with FTEs and FTFs. I could not get through a mag without a failure. I sent it back to Sig and they changed the barrel. I now cannot get through a 50-round box without a failure. The POS sits in my safe.
I’m glad to see someone else who has had nothing but great experiences with the XD. I own 3 of them and have had 2 of them for more than a decade. Great shooters and utterly reliable. My G19 is the other one that has been completely reliable for years and many thousands of rounds through. I am strongly considering a Hellcat or G43. I will get one of them in the next week.
I live in Mexico and we only have the Glock 28 and 25, and every time a friend gets a new one, they come to me because I know how to polish the insides to make them as reliable as a Glock 26 and 19. Otherwise, they need a loooooong break-in period, worse than a new1911. Oh! We also have the G42, but it works just fine right out of the case.
My least reliable gun ever was the Ruger LCP Max. Constant failures to return to battery. However Ruger sent me a new slide assembly and now it works great. Also bought one of those cheap turkish shotguns from Rock island armory(VPR40?)....broken brand new out of the box. Again, they fixed it.
Seeing the GX4, my primary EDC, and the MC9, the one I want next... On the least reliable side, ouch. but I’ve always said that money and cost doesn’t buy you more value or more quality in firearms. It should, but it doesn’t. At best it just gets you a lower percentage chance of a dud. Sidenote, is that Romeo Zero sight really as bad as everyone seems to say?
Pocket pistol triggers are awesome, it's so cringey when people call them garbage. that safety that allows safe pocket carry allows you to hold onto your gun with your hand in your pocket in front of people without them knowing. This allows you to go from a 2 second draw time to a half a second draw time. That could mean life or death. If I see someone who looks suspicious, my hand is on my gun, and none the wiser. It's a significant advantage. Its meant for close range. However, if you work on your grip you can overcome a poor trigger pull.
You said it perfect. The pico shoots great when it shoots. Its actually the softest recoiling of the tiny single stack .380s. But at the cost of a recoil spring that's too strong. Buffalo bore or underwood will run well. Its ironic. Beretta wanted to have the only .380 in the world rated for the unpublish "+p .380" spec. But ended up with a gun that wont run anything but +p reliably.
My First MC9 S/N # 1089, had major issues....first it was the recoil spring. Then it the barrel was locking into top of slide. Sent it back, they sent me a new one, it runs flawlessly... I bought a 2nd one, which was flawless from start.
Last year I was so excited to buy a gen 5 glock 26. I am not a new shooter, I've owned some of the most popular pistols. Brand new g26, not modified, OEM mags. Multiple FTE/FTF issues. Sent it to glock then sold it. Bought a Canik tp9 sf elite its flawfless
Thats crazy about the GX4, I have a G3C thats been reliable with everything I've ran through it. I guess it really is all about luck. I'm now on my second DB380 and thats at the factory as we speak. If it runs after repair it will be getting traded in, if not itll be a very aggravating paper weight.
@spnfirearms yeah I don't want anyone else to deal with what I've had to with DB, especially without a warranty. I may keep it as a spare if it works but I honestly don't think I'll ever trust it. It's just like you said it really comes down to luck. My Gen 3 ran better than the Gen 4 they replaced it with 🤣
Worked at a gun store for 2 years and saw multiple taurus g2 and g3 series come from the factory inoperable. Upgrade to a M&P, glock, sig, springfield or cz p10 if short on cash.
@homelessman3483 I have other options just wanted something with a little more capacity and got a good deal...I'm sure Taurus still puts out some lemons but the G series is known for being much better than their previous models. I trust mine but that's because it's been reliable. That being said my current EDC is a Ruger but I've carried the Taurus and I do have faith in its reliability. As of matter of fact I sold my Glock 42 and the G3C is what replaced it. Loved the 42 but it didn't work for pocket carry, figured if I was going to carry on my belt I wanted something in a better caliber with more rounds. The G3C just fit the bill and the leftover money got me enough ammo to put it to the test.
@@magnum_0710 i like the pt92's from taurus alot and I've also seen good g2c's/pt111's that ran. I looked at the g3 when it came out because it had good capacity and was thin like 1.2 inches, but I decided not to get it. Just a lot of better guns for 50$ more.
Though I agree that any manufacturer can issue a bad firearm, some manufacturers have much stronger reputations for reliability than others. That reputation is based on numerous users and “testing” in the field.
sad to say I had issues badly enough with the gx4 I sold it. Sights kept falling out, and worse, I couldn't get a 15" group at 10 feet and the barrel was sheering off. Great pocket pistol till it wasn't
Thank you for your honest review. My choice of CW is the Sig p365 & the Glock 43X. Size, weight, reliability second to none. I am not taking any chances when it comes to my weapon of choice, misfire is not an opinion!
I have a P365. Overall build quality isn't great. The front sight just came apart when I was shooting it. It also has a light strike where every once in a while it doesn't go boom when you pull the trigger. I don't trust if for daily carry anymore. Thinking about a Hellcat or CSX - the concept of a manual safety appeals to me.
In 60 years of handling firearms the worse I have ever owned, hand downs, I have owned four Keltec's and everyone of them sucked. Great ideas poorly executed
Getting my Glock 48 back from Glock tomorrow they’ve had it close to a month. It’s had fte , dead triggers and the slide locked shut with a live round which I had to force open. Curious if it’s fixed
@@spnfirearms UPS just delivered My G 48 says on the paperwork replaced trigger with trigger bar and replaced the connector won’t know more until I get a chance to go to the range and shoot a few hundred rounds.
My Glock may be fixed. I shot a little over 200 rounds today with zero malfunctions that was including using my palmetto state armory 15 round mags, not ready to carry it yet, but it seems hopeful.// I have another issue with my stream light sub. It’s the third or fourth time my mounting screw snapped, and the light fell off am I the only one having this issue with stream light?
I have two unreliable guns. 1. Sig branded Firefly 22lr pistol, runs like garbage even after it being worked on by a gunsmith, it's going to be destroyed. 2. CZ P07 in .40, it has failure to feed issues even after a new guide rod, three different springs and polished the feed ramp. My latest attempt to smooth it out has been racking is several thousand times and then a full clean. Now to take it back to the range.
3:44 dang Bro, i quit hearing everything you said for a second when i saw that chunk of meat missing out of your right thumb. That must of STUNG! -RESPECT P.s. Thank you for all the time and money you put into making all of your content.
Haha fair enough! Did that at work on a finish. A sharp edge on a cabinet just sliced it out. It’s a pain but it is what it is. Respect and thank you for the support man.
that slide on your all custom glock is the same one I have on my frankenglock. I tried making a 3d print build, but could never get it to run reliably (almost definitely just cheap parts) I ended up just getting a PSA dagger frame and haven't had any issues so far, but I don't think I even have a hundred rounds through it yet.
Great video as always! I have to say, I love your point about it could be any gun from any manufacturer. My most unreliable gun ever were my first 3 Glock 43s. Testament to my faith in Glock that my 4th one yes 4th one, I kept going, was amazing. Also I hear a lot about the lcp being unreliable, but I have put a TON of rounds through my OG lcp, my 2nd gen lcp, my lcp custom and my lcp2 with ONE malfunction that to this day I don’t know if it was the gun or the ammo and my lcps get covered in flour. My current favorite pistols are my 320s and 365s, however and this goes to any “swappable style” gun, I have one 365 slide that won’t function with one of my 5 fcus, but it works perfectly with the other 4. I also say any swappable style because, though it functions 100%, my g19 slide which is 100% identical to my g45 slide is a struggle to get on and off my g45 (one has a dot one has irons). Guns are a manufactured good and just like cars, or phones, or computers there are lemons
I haven't, or don't, own a pile of firearms. 3 rifles, 3 pistols. May go to 4 rifles soon but that's likely it. None of the firearms I own have experienced failures or given any reliability issues. They shot when i squeeze the trigger, no matter which ammo I run in them. This even includes my SCCY pocket pistol. I suppose if I had a dozen pistols or rifles one of them may be iffy.
I had a Gen 5 Glock 19 that ran %100 the first 200 rounds then started having failures to feed nearly every shot. After returning from the factory with a new slide, it then ran reliably.
I have 2 firearms. A SHIELD PLUS 9mm and a SHIELD 45acp. Have around 8,000 rounds thru both firearms and NOT A SINGLE MALFUCTUON. Honestly NOT ONE. I TRUST MY LIFE WITH BOTH OF EM!!!! Starting to really enjoy for videos!!!! Looking for another EDC. Any sugesstions??? Was thinking about the PDP F-SERIES!!!
I know the guy in this video had bad luck with his canik mete and hoping I don't have that happen but it's a real sweet one shoot and perfect size to carry without getting too tiny like those sig 365.
I have been buying and collecting handguns for about 43 yrs. Many are semiautos that are all steel and metal and some are polymer striker fired and also some are Revolvers. I can tell you honestly that I have never had a Revolver that had any problems with the rare exception because homemade reloads only 1 time . This is why me and many others are switching back to from autos back to Revolvers . If there is mass Kaos like a riot or a war like situation thats when I will pack my Gen 1 Glock 17 or my S&W model 915 , but believe me there will be j-frame small 38 cal revolver as a back up . The thing is that Revolvers are not made for long periods of rapid sustained firing and will over heat and that is why Semi autos are used by military armed forces. But thats a exception to the rule and Revolvers are better in most cases. Its funny young man that you apparently dont own one.
Ray I totally agree with you, except that I would not own a Glock. Rarely have I seen problems with S&W, Colt or Ruger revolvers, but I have seen a few with Taurus. S&W 3rd generation semiautos like your 915 are outstanding handguns as well.
Tiny pistols and big hands = interference with the slide reciprocation. Also people think they can make up for a smaller caliber/barrel with really hot ammo. Also people try to overload smaller mags and put one in the hole.. all of this is trouble for these little guns. Source- experience
I'm new to the Auto handgun World I've maybe ran a thousand rounds through My three Autos Kimber tle, M&P, And Belgian Makarov. Can't afford to do A lot of shooting Curious what your ammo bill per year is😮
Haha yes hk’s just run. People complain about the price but you are paying for the reliability through a high round count. Respect and thanks for watching
Glock 28 has mainly feed ramp issues. It already becomes apparent by having a simple look at the ramp. Widening a bit the lateral edges of the ramp and polishing it usually solves the issue.
I ow many hand guns, most Glocks. The worst gun for reliability in my gun collection is the Ruger LC9s. I’ve had to send it back to Ruger twice for issues that should not exist. Manual safety broke off. The slide locked in the open position and would not close.

Hahaha that Spectrum is whispering in my ear.! 😂
The machinery and tools to make guns has never been better. The problem is that work ethic and pride in ones work has never been worse.
Most Reliable:
Anything CZ
Gotta love Hi-Point 9mm. It may be a clunker, but it shoots. Lol
Damn dude. How bad did that chunk out of your hand hurt?
My First MC9 S/N # 1089, had major issues....first it was the recoil spring. Then it the barrel was locking into top of slide. Sent it back, they sent me a new one, it runs flawlessly... I bought a 2nd one, which was flawless from start.
Last year I was so excited to buy a gen 5 glock 26. I am not a new shooter, I've owned some of the most popular pistols. Brand new g26, not modified, OEM mags. Multiple FTE/FTF issues. Sent it to glock then sold it. Bought a Canik tp9 sf elite its flawfless
I thought about buying one of those Tarus Spectrums for a glove box gun.

It’s a great little pocket pistol!
Fair enough. Sorry to hear that. But major respect for not planning to sell it not running. I really respect that
@spnfirearms yeah I don't want anyone else to deal with what I've had to with DB, especially without a warranty.
You are right...i got the bul armory Cherokee...in December 2023.looked at all the reviews.sold it January 2024 just didn't like it got the cz p10c
My boy got a p365 and had it transferred to our range. We shot it the same day and after the 3rd mag it kept jamming.
Though I agree that any manufacturer can issue a bad firearm, some manufacturers have much stronger reputations for reliability than others. That reputation is based on numerous users and “testing” in the field.
band aid!
Quick question bro! Does your Hellcat Pro slide on Hellcat frame fit in a Vedder holster or their pocket locker??? Love this configuration it’s 🔥
I haven’t tried it yet! It should for the hellcat pro holster tho!
Thanks I thought it should in the hellcat pro. If and when you do try it please let us know 👍🏼💪🏼 thanks for the awesome help and content 🔥
Idk if my phone is dark or if the video is bright but the camera is good quality
sad to say I had issues badly enough with the gx4 I sold it. Sights kept falling out, and worse, I couldn't get a 15" group at 10 feet and the barrel was sheering off. Great pocket pistol till it wasn't
Wow, sorry to hear that man. You got a lemon and that happens from time to time. Thanks for watching and respect
@@spnfirearms really is too bad, good price tag, love the size, and the recoil was pretty smooth. I now carry a csx daily, love it to death
Very informative! I kept telling ppl...the Spectrum is better than u think! Had great luck with mine!
Yes exactly and for $200.. it’s an amazing deal and pocket pistol. Thanks for watching and respect
@@spnfirearms you've got a great channel... Just subscribed 👍
Most reliable for me: Springfield XDs & SW Shields. Plural.
Least reliable: Taurus & Ruger (but *all* Ruger rans perfectly after repair.)
Fair enough! Thanks for sharing and watching. Respect
Thank you for your honest review.
My choice of CW is the Sig p365 & the Glock 43X. Size, weight, reliability second to none.
I am not taking any chances when it comes to my weapon of choice, misfire is not an opinion!
Hellcat is definitely best of all of those
I have a P365.
What guide rod did you replace the Mete MC9 with? (thinking ahead)
I wanna try a P365 but I absolutely loath the brick that is the P226. I know it’s way smaller but I have not wanted a SIG after handling that 226.
My Taurus spectrum wont feed anything and the mags strip right out with little force or fall out shooting. Any suggestions?
I would send it to Taurus! They have great customer service right now and I would take advantage of it!
Don't ever do it again.
Getting my Glock 48 back from Glock tomorrow they’ve had it close to a month. It’s had fte , dead triggers and the slide locked shut with a live round which I had to force open. Curious if it’s fixed
Wow interesting… thanks for sharing. Keep me updated! Respect
Yeah ..i have new gx4 carry ..its running like a top ...and its better then the hellcat which is painful to say ..and less recoil then the 365 xl
My Springfield Armory XD models all run 100% reliable and accurate.
Yea agreed every single xd series pistol I’ve owned just eats everything. Can’t go wrong with them! Respect
Ayyyye Hellcat is your second favorite gun? I like your style Hellcat is my first favorite 🔥🔥🔥
3:44 dang Bro, i quit hearing everything you said for a second when i saw that chunk of meat missing out of your right thumb. That must of STUNG!
-RESPECT
P.s.
Thank you for all the time and money you put into making all of your content.
Haha fair enough! Did that at work on a finish. A sharp edge on a cabinet just sliced it out. It’s a pain but it is what it is. Respect and thank you for the support man.
Dude with the zombie bite in his hand.😂🤣
that slide on your all custom glock is the same one I have on my frankenglock.
380 issues are never easily fixed. As a round, as a whole, it’s unreliable. It takes a certain amount of powder to reliably cycle a semi.
Thinking about it too, rented one and ran a few mags. The recoil feels different than anything else in a great way.
@@bub-gy2bq Thanks for your reply , Trump 2024 or Communist rule.
I guess I got the bad luck because I bought a spectre and it ran like shit right out of the box. Every problem in the book.
Can't afford to do A lot of shooting Curious what your ammo bill per year is😮
your thumb ate a hollow point
Despite being a Hipoint fanboy my HK Mark23 has outperformed everything i owned, i dunno why but it does.
People hate on the romeo 0 red dot but i dont mind it on my 365xl. Its accurate, and the glass isnt terrible
I ow many hand guns, most Glocks. The worst gun for reliability in my gun collection is the Ruger LC9s. I’ve had to send it back to Ruger twice for issues that should not exist. Manual safety broke off. The slide locked in the open position and would not close.
Wish I had the ammo money you must have with the “thousands of rounds you have through each of these guns” love your videos 😂
Where did you get the guide rod for the Canik Mete Mc9
weren't there a couple of handguns on this list that were on a RECOMMENDED gun video (i.e., hellcat)?
Good input, thanks for the heads up…..
Did you burn a cigarette on your thumb?
i was gonna request this and you already cooked up video amazing
Love to hear that man, thanks for watching and respect
Hey you give some gooood info in this video. Is there a tool that we can test out springs for spec performance?
Got my Ruger LCP on sale for $200 new and it’s the perfect EDC
Screw Sig. I will never own one unless someone gives me one.
My ruger LC9S is unreliable right now but hope to get it on the right track
