I'm grateful you showed different ways because I was also considering the baking soda and vinegar method but I don't have time to leave it overnight or just clean up such a messy process. Great video. Sometimes you have to clean an oven 2 times before you get it all. Try letting Easy Off Fume Free sit for 6 hours before cleaning. Lemon smell and it worked on my caked on mess i inherited.
Enjoy your videos. Your oven cleaning with the Dupray is what prompted me to buy my steam cleaner. My oven only has a low temperature cleaning feature, which uses about 3/4 cup of water and a 40 minute cycle to lift the dirt. Guess what it doesn't work. What is worse, the mfg cautions you not to use oven cleaner as it supposedly removes their non-stick coating. That said, I still used Easy Off low odor and it was OK, but not great. I do use my Dupray Neat steamer with a brass brush and a stainless scouring pad, which works pretty well - followed by an SOS pad. It helps to remove the oven door, which gives better access. I do put the racks into a plastic bag over night with ammonia (in the driveway), and that does a good job. Especially when I follow-up with an SOS pad. I also watched someone heat water and ammonia in the oven for a short time - then allowing it to set overnight. The next morning the cleaning seems much easier. I am planning to try that next, just to get the last burned bits out. BTW, mixing vinegar and baking soda may look cool when it bubbles, but the reaction actually reduces the effectiveness of the components. A baking soda paste alone at least has some abrasive qualities. Thanks again.
I moved into a house straight after 3 young boys who didn't know that ovens got cleaned , so I found after about 80 bucks of loss that I sprayed the Shelley's oven cleaner on to the stove top burnt on bits and covered with glad wrap for 1 hr used the metal brush on a high pressure steamer and the parts that we thought were powder coated black were actually silver and it came up brand new i used every thing else that anywhere sold even car degreaser but Shelley's and steam n a wire brush 🤮🤮
In Australia we have "Bar Keepers Friend" (available from Coles, manufactured in Indianapolis, USA). Nothing beats this stuff for cleaning ovens. Astonishing. "Sprinkle onto a wet surface. Rub gently with a wet cloth or sponge. Rinse thoroughly within a minute of application, then wipe dry". You will be amazed.
I'm trying to remember if I've used it on an oven yet. I've definitely used it other places. I like Brillo pads better but it's handy for cleaning out my Instant Pot and I've used it on a stove top.
I keep my oven spotless everytime l spilled in oven from cooking or baking wipe up right away as soon as cool enough.Your oven should be wiped out every two weeks wether it needs it or not.

You also have a pretty large broiling element in the top of your oven. And you say you don't have a bottom element?
How did you successfully clean your oven with the heating element on the bottom. My SIL had an oven catastrophe and now the oven is dirty. I’ve never had an element on the bottom of the oven and it’s intimidating if I spray the oven cleaner

I just cleaned my oven do I can rent it out. I’m bad, bc I haven’t done a deep clean in 10 years. The glass door was brown and sides were greased cover. I bought spray to degreased oven but didn’t work. I went to dollar store bought box of brillo and that cleaned the glass door, scrubbed greased outside of oven and inside of oven. Use some muscles and keep scrubbing. Best thing ever, no fumes but Brillo and arm exercises.
Brillo pads are the best!!! Work, but they work! In a video I did more recently I used a razor blade (must use a liquid with it so it doesn't scratch) to get grease off the glass. It's so satisfying!! It just peeled off. You can see that in this video: ruclips.net/video/PenNGujky6Q/видео.html
Some are removable and that makes it easier. You can't use oven cleaner on it, so you have to wash with regular dish soap or an SOS pad. It's harder to get the top because you have to reach up inside. This one wasn't dirty but the same method as was used on the rest of the oven.
I’m a bit frustrated, I used the self cleaner on the oven and I wiped off the white residue, but it left white spots all over my oven. It looks like a sea of spotted film nI’ve tried and tried to wipe those away, but unsuccessful. Nothing works, easy off, vinegar, baking soda and water and nothing. Do you have any tips or am I stuck with those filmy spots?

Anyhow I’ve gotten used to cleaning my oven after every single use. Even if it was used for 10 minutes. It’s kept my oven looking brand new and saved me from hours of cleaning

Read on the internet about all the oven failures after using a self-clean cycle. Modern ovens have control boards & lcd screens that don't tolerate the clean cycle's high heat.
I just put a Pyrex glass baking dish in my oven then I pour very hot water in it and add baking soda shut oven door and let it sit in there overnight. The next morning just wipe oven clean. Believe me even the hardest baked on gunk comes right off.
All I do is bring a pan of white vinegar to boil in the oven…turn it off and let it cool. Wipe it out and you are done (that is also how I clean my microwave)

You really should not use pumice stone on an enamelled surface. Pumice is abrasive and will scratch the surface, and cleaning will become harder and harder.
So, why didn't you take the door off first? Makes it so much easier to get inside the body of the oven. LOL, maybe I should start making Cleaning Vids. LOL
I won’t take the door off by myself. It’s heavy and if you break the glass it’s expensive. They’re not my oven and even on mine I’m afraid of damaging it. Some are heavier than others. I can clean it with the door on. More to the point, I’m afraid of breaking it and it’s not always a one person job. Sometimes we are filming it by ourselves. The average person doesn’t need to remove the door. But I’ve included it on one video. Generally speaking I’m not good at taking things apart. Some ovens are easy but they’re all different. You should start a cleaning channel! It’s a lot of work (cleaning and filming it is different than just cleaning, many times I just want to clean it and not have to film and edit the cleaning). It’s been 5 years for us but there’s room for more of us!
Yep, that's how it goes. People say something like you filthy pig! But maybe they don't have the budget or don't want to throw out a perfectly good oven that can be cleaned. But years and years gives me a bit of anxiety because I know that's hours and hours of cleaning. However, the end result is so satisfying.
Yes, I hate using the typical oven cleaners also, but usually the ovens are so bad I really have to. And more than one application. I tried baking soda and vinegar but it just doesn't cut it for the really bad ones. Once I do the first major cleaning and get it really nice, then I can use baking soda and vinegar and clean up the spills regularly. I tried the pumice stone. I haven't used it before and it really helped on the bad stains/crusties. Cut down on my scrubbing time! Yay! Thank you!

Grapefruit cut in half scrubbing on the area let it stay for overnight or so many hours and go back in and take a paint scraping in your oven clean

Does Easy Off damage the oven coating? Or is that only for newer ovens?
It shouldn't damage your oven but read your manual or test on a small area first. Every oven is made with different metals and coatings.
What about the broiler? And the top of the stove?

Some people either don't have it or don't tolerate the fumes, heat and time. It's also bad for birds.

I used easy off and had problems getting it off the elements and thermostat. My oven doesn't work well at all now.
Why do people always say 30 min yes with easy off works but what about the grates ? So people not clean those ?

You can remove your oven door. You might need help if it has to be tugged off with strength.

Pro cleaners use them all the time, that's where I learned it. You can test a spot but I haven't had them scratch.
