Excellent, but so missing John Evan, Barriemore, & of course John Glascock. I am still a big fan, but after Glascock passed away, the entire magic was gone. Not that Ian & Martin carried on quiet well, but that classic lineup was the heart and soul of so many great songs and concerts. The New Tull LP drops in a couple days, keep on Ian.......& Thank You for the music & memories ✌️😎☀️🇺🇸
Larga vida a Ian Anderson y Jethro Tull.
I saw Tull in Houston many years ago and I think I enjoyed it thoroughly. What I can recall of it. Now that I’m older and have time think back, I kind of feel guilty. Ian Anderson and the guys always put their heart and soul into every performance, but I just used it as an opportunity to smoke some weed and didn’t really appreciate the effort that went into every show. It’s not right that it’s just a blur!Maybe when I pass to the Great Beyond I will be able to enjoy all of the great artists with the respect due them!
Drummer Gerry Conway (Pentangle, Cat Stevens, Richard Thompson) did a fairly short stint live in JT, but in the '80s he played on almost as much studio recordings as Doane Perry, their regular drummer. Gerry is, despite his double bass drums here, maybe not as "heavy" as Barrie or Doane, but if you listen you'll find he's very much a percussionist, with fine things thrown in here and there; I can here it in this song. He later went on to play with Dave Pegg in Fairport Convention, and still does.
☝️😃🇲🇽me suscribí ahorita !
Remember seeing Jethro in Abergavenny along with Fleetwood Mac may 1969 Croeso 69 blues festival in a barn what a night that was showing my age now 30 shillings entry ha ha
Hermoso poema musical
Just doesn't do it for me without Barrie Barlow on the drums. I miss those stampeding double bass drums as Ian sings "the heavy horses thunder by" Barlow brought this song to life.
Could someone tell me why Gerry Conway did not last in Jethro Tull? I really don't know and I've always wondered that. The only thing I can figure is that he wasn't as heavy as Barrymore Barlow, or Doane Perry who came after him. I mean he was not exactly a newbie to the music scene. He had definitely been around the block.
Ian's voice sounds like poppey by now..Martin carried this song on his back and the band by now..'69-71' That was Jethro Tull..Stand Up..Benefit..Aqualung..sorry this Martin rocking and he still does at 72 yrs old..good job
1984 is generally accepted as the year Anderson's voice went south, but you can also hear it here. Compare his vocals here to the live stuff from the A tour and there is no comparison. His range is compromised and has started to develop that nasal quality that just got worse and worse. Great performance though.
@@rightchordleadership Well, Ian has more energy, he's a more talented and more versatile instrumentalist (in addition to the vocals) and he personifies the craziness, intensity, and whimsicality of Tull's music, a majority of which he composed. He's just more entertaining and unpredictable, always grabbing new instruments, random percussion like crash cymbals and tambourine, punching said tambourine at 1:42, apparently he used to flip his flute up in the air, and so on. But Queen had more mainstream appeal. Everyone knows about Freddie, but being more famous doesn't mean much when it comes down to it.
Not just one of my favourite Tull songs - one of my favourite songs, period. "They just don't make music like this anymore."
This song touches a nerve... music is just not made like this anymore... Love you Tull
check out Maps & Atlases. Their lyrics and instrumentals remind me of a modern version of this band
Eines meiner Lieblingslieder von Jethro Tull. 🎶🙂
Mine auch.
said by one old man or another every day since the beginning of time. 😂😂😂
Yes it is, look harder
Beautiful song by a beautiful man. I cry every time I hear this song. It reminds me of how kind horses have been to humans. Thanks for posting.
🎉
Some of Ian's best poetry. He's a terrific acoustic guitar player too.
The music of Jethro Tull will always be part of my life ❤️
A true poet genius
the best ever ... period. It's fine if you disagree, you're just wrong
It's my opinion just like yours.
Agreed, if liking this is wrong, I don't want to be right for the rest of my life haha
No, you are wrong.
@@alvarogarcia1062 LOL to each his own
Exactly
Superb guitar work from Martin 🎸
Ian Anderson is a God-level Bard in DnD terms.
1:41 simply a true master 😂😂😂
Never noticed before hahaha
I love that part. 😄
Haha I've noticed too :D:D:D

My favorite tull song ever. Its a story , its a picture , its amood.
What an outfit ❤ i can explain ❤ jethro tull so unique
I was there. :-)
I was there, also. I had seen Jethro Tull earlier that year in Frankfurt and couldn't pass up a chance to see them, again.
Ian is quite the artist...you'll find few other pop songs with this level of poetry.
Love this song. Reminds me of when I did a topic at school about the different colours of horses.
Martin was such a good player.very tasty licks. always a big fan...
He’s a fantastic player
Maybe my favorite of Jethro Tull 😍❤️🍀 #heavyhorses
So your able to pick one song lol I cant separate any of them and I"m 67

Jethro Tull creó auténticas obras maestras. Saludos.

SFTW and HH my favorite Tull albums- best line-up. Anderson, Barre, Barlow ,Glascock, and David Palmer
1:42...Mr. Anderson just knocks the tambourine straight out of view, while starting on a new verse!
priceless!
😄
,,Dedacated to the equine-behemouths, that helped build our societies/ and power our farms,, here's to you !!

If you had just dropped some Green Goddess or Purple Owlsey - you would've remembered every detail ;)
2019
Jethro! so cool then and now!
Absolute class, beautiful.
Saw Tull after the benefit album and have been a fan since then. They are brilliant.
PJV underrated, unappreciated and criminally treated in 1985.
Thanks for sharing ... one of the best JT songs ever...!
Loved the bass and drums opening of this heavy song!
Incredible
I Agree, I Love Love This Man and his Music!!!!!!😍😍😍😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
Das waren noch Zeiten ! Midnight Summer Open Air 04.09.1982 Rheinwiesen / Wiesbaden u.a. mit Jethro Tull und Neil Young als Headliner. Unvergessen.
1:42 I love how he just throws the tambourine to Mars
Brano bellissimo poetico, lirico evocativo. Amo i Jethro.
Nice performance and Martin Barre's middle section solo/bridge is great.
So powerful

Gerry wasn't right for Tull.. especially trying to follow filling the shoes of Barriemore.
Wonderfull

I'm a Slipknot fan. Born 1968. I love me some Tull!
The way he punched that tambourine away makes me happy
belleza forever!!!!jpucccctaaa!!!
THE BEST!!!!
Luv luv luv what else can I say
Remember seeing Jethro in Abergavenny along with Fleetwood Mac may 1969 Croeso 69 blues festival in a barn what a night that was showing my age now 30 shillings entry ha ha
Saw Tull a few years after this - the stage was dark apart from a few spotlights which reflected off all the bald heads as the band came on...
Hermoso poema musical
Entre los mejores genios del ROCK

Agreste👏👏👍
Why are they not and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Simple, really: because they are way beyond that!
His guitar looks just my bass! But with six strings of course
I liked No Lullaby’s better from this album. As from the Bursting Out tour or Lp Live. Great album none the less. Play it Martin. Hear him??🎸
Just doesn't do it for me without Barrie Barlow on the drums. I miss those stampeding double bass drums as Ian sings "the heavy horses thunder by" Barlow brought this song to life.
One of their all time peak moments.

I've always noted the nasal sound here too, it's even more pronounced here than in some 1984 shows I've heard.
COPD is a bit of an inconvenience when you're trying to sing.
Master of masters
Onde foi parar o pandeiro?
Drama - complex playing - respect for the environment and - horses ! Has to be Jethro Tull ...
it's David Pegg,on bass?
Yes
👍
👏👏👏❓
Metallica have no idea. !!!!!!!
¡¡Hahahaha!! ¡You´re Absolutely right!
You can't compare them like that...
Love Jethro Tull. Ian Anderson needs work.
Who si on drums here? Mark Craney? or Conway?
Conway
You both are wrong. In this concert was Kee Kerslake who played drums. He used to be Uriah heep drumer
It's Conway.
Who's on drums? Barrymore?
where the hell did these 11 dislikes come from?
WTF yeah????This Man is THE BEST OF THE BEST❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I always find it weird that he uses a classical guitar to play chords
It is a steel string guitar it was a small bodied Martin now a custom ... look at the bridge pins cheers
four yrs of alternatv tweets here cwe cmm
Jeffro Dull, Mainly Ian Anderson 4 get rid of Martin Barre Shameful! Randy Williams
Ian Anderson had better stage presence than Freddie Mercury and it wasn't even close.
I wouldn’t say “better” but certainly just as good as Freddie
