The bay bridge is not a cable-stayed bridge this is the first in California to use that design.. looks nothing like the bay bridge other then being a bridge but that just a opinion.
Andres Reyes no BS you’re wrong. It strongly resembles the bay bridge. Not to mention the bay bridge is way more appealing than this one and cost way more than LB’s new bridge. It’s was also made with earthquake engineering. These people must’ve forgot about Bay Area bridges. The Golden Gate Bridge is still the tallest as well.
Orlando Nunez once again Orlando that is your opinion in my opinion they look nothing alike(there are a few things in common but then again all bridges have a few things in common). I’m a engineer I’m well aware how bridges work, this is a cable-stayed bridge it is the ONLY one in California.... in regards to earthquake safety the Long Beach bridge is more advanced due to being built with newer technologies, the bay bridge is also a very safe bridge but different design.
@@andresreyes5398 they look very much alike and I’ve seen both in person and watched the bay bridge be built while living in the Bay Area, I’ve also seen the new LB bridge be built. They are very much alike it’s not an opinion up for debate. Open your eyes. The new Long Beach bridge looks like a knock off Bay Bridge. It doesn’t matter if it’s a cable stayed or self anchored . The bay bridge is still a resemblance of it. Also you’re funny as fuck. Both the Bay Bridge and the Long Beach bridge have the SAME amount of up to date technology and seismic strengths. They are both 21st century bridges and the reason for the new bay bridge was because the recent one, upper deck fell in the 89 loma prieta quake. More work was put into the bay bridge because it’s much larger, carries more traffic, and is the widest bridge, (5 lanes each direction) and it also cost waaaay more than the Long Beach bridge, when the Long Beach bridge broke ground the bay bridge was only opened for 1 year and a half. There’s not much of a time gap to really call the LB bridge “newer” that’s a load of crap. Both have the same amount of earthquake technology. But I can guarantee more was put into the bay bridge.
There has been chunks of concrete falling from it for years and it needed to be retrofitted for earthquake safety the bridge is not “still okay” but most of all it restricted traffic into the port of Long Beach due to how low it is blocking tall ships from entering the inner harbor, the new bridge will now allow tall ships to go under it to enter the inner harbor which will increase ship traffic which will bring in more tax dollars for the city of Long Beach.
Lol these people are funny. The Bay Bridge in San Francisco cost way more and looks way more appealing. It was also built with earthquake engineering and has a life span of 150 years (50 years longer than the new Long Beach bridge) and let’s not forget the 84 year old Golden Gate Bridge, which lasted the 89 lona prieta quake and Napa quake and still stands as the tallest on the west coast.
Thanks for the new bridge, beautifully done.
Wow finally took forever
This is amazing! Good Job! I can't wait to see it in person and lit up at night.
Being 2020 I'm sure it's in everyone's best interest to stay the hell off that thing
hahah legit when i saw this i was like idk man it seems like a bridge that will collapse
i just drove on it.
i was terrified.
California is building bridges but the streets are literally crowded with tents and transients. This is typical🙄
And poo poo.
Infrastructure is needed to be up to date for the port of Long Beach to give you nut brains your goodies in America!! You’re welcome!
The video is too short.
I don't like heights
pretty. can’t wait to use it
Nice bridge
Resembles the San Francisco Bay bridge the white vertical wires its been done.
Not to mention the bay bridge looks more appealing.
This is a cable-stayed bridge the only one in the state of California, the bay bridge is not a cable-stayed bridge
@@andresreyes5398 who cares if is a cable stay, suspension or self anchored. It’s still a bridge.
Real test is the winds and it's 1st earthquake...😬😳
A Earthquake happen like last month and its still there I'm sure they know wtf they doing building a bridge in California
Bridge !
i mis takenly drove this with my kiddo and the blue one talk about anxiety wow!
In a big crowd Protesting how crowds are unsafe
Wow
While we were on a pandemic they were finishing up the bridge pandemic my ass

Yeah, we’ll see when that earthquake hits 2020
That’s be something to end the year
Now they're gonna tear down the old bridge even though it's still okay..
The old bridge had so many complications and problems

Hey a nice Chinese bridge... perfect
For sure its beautiful! Its Made in italy!!!!!!
UNION CARPENTERS
Man! Look at that bridge! We need some protesters on it to block traffic!
Y’all are too obsessed with people expressing their freedom of speech.
